    Do you think you can show sometime how you do your borders for the swatching, and the borders that you use in your sketchbooks when doing artwork? I would really be interesting in seeing this.

    Beautiful colors!! I’m going to have to add some to my Holbein collection…
    Thank you very much for sharing. I definitely understand that we buy watercolor/art supplies like some collect jewelry, handbags and shoes. I’m fine carrying one handbag for spring/summer and one for fall/winter which lasts for years. I have a friend who spends hundreds on her handbags and has her collection. We each find joy in different ways….neither is right or wrong….
    I’m with you. I’m going for the watercolors…lol

    Your videos are so calming and enjoyable since your voice is soothing. I sometimes can't handle other artists whose voices are abrasive.

    Oh my god the red are so so pretty 😍 I love punchy reds and genuinely can't decide which one of these is my favorite. And the blues are gorgeous as well 😊

    James Gurney recommends pyrrole rubin as an alternative to alizarin crimson in his book, Color and Light, so you have a good eye!
    Thomas Shaller said he had to give up his favorite rose madder because it isn’t lightfast. The mars violet and Davy’s grey are gorgeous.

    Beautiful colors, I think that the vandyke brown, davy's grey, quin. violet and the mars violet would make such a stunning limited palette together.

    I love all the colors swatching, but I would love to see you do a video on your artwork because I find it enchanting. I hope you do some future videos with your drawings and paintings of the drawings.

      I hope you do. As a child, I used to love books that had drawings and paintings in it like the ones that seem so natural for you and they’re just enchanting …and it’s what drew me to water colors from the second grade on.

    I have the entire set of Holbeins from when I lived in Japan. I haven't used most of them in years though, because they lack ox gall and so are not very lively for wet-in-wet. They are terrific paints for what I call static images, as they were designed for painting manga artwork.

    I haven't tried Holbein paints. I usually wait to see a color that really catches my attention before I try another brand. I have so many other standard colors from different brands (mostly from sets) that I don't think I'll ever use them up.
    I know what you mean about Alizarin crimson. I ordered a 24 half pan set of Windsor & Newton on Amazon (USA) but it shipped from Amazon UK. It has Alizarin crimson PR83. But I can't really complain because the price was discounted down to around $45 (US).😲
    Looking forward to your video next week! ❤️

      Wow MaryAnn, that is a really good deal for a 24 WN halpan set! Pyrrol Rubin looks as if it would be a good lightfast replacement for PR83! 🙌😊

    Lovely colors - I pulled out my swatches for some paints that I have, and was seeing what I have of the same color and how they compare, and if I could mix my own of the mixed color combos... and in my looking, discovered a color mix that I think matches the perfect eggplant color that you were looking for! It's Bloodstone Genuine mixed with Quinacridone Rose (both by Daniel Smith, of course), which gives it the perfect purple-brightness it needs; but you could also use Deep Scarlet instead, if you want the slightly redder-purple look. Didn't even realize I'd done that, LOL - this is fun, swatching & color mixing together!

    • @lilymoonart
      @lilymoonart  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the suggestion, will absolutely try the combination out! 💜❤️

    Hi Lily, thank you for this lovely video. I used your link to Jackson’s but the 12 piece set doesn’t have the same colours that you swatched. Where can I get your selected set? Cheers

      Hi!! Sorry for late reply! I don't think you can buy these as a set but you can buy the singles and create your own set!☺️❤️

    Hello Lily……beautiful video ….as usual. At times you use a white pen to create marks in your art. can you please tell me what that pen is? I saw it somewhere previously…..but cannot locate the video now. Thank you so much!

    • @lilymoonart
      @lilymoonart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lynn! Yes of course, the pen I use is the Posca Pen white, like this one here: www.jacksonsart.com/uni-posca-marker-pc-1mr-ultra-fine-bullet-tip-0-7mm-white?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=7dc1c7653ac42a05642a667959c12239

      Hi Linda! 😊I really like them both, but if I had to choose, I think the Hahnemuhle one is overall my favourite so far! ❤️
