I watched your video some time ago and decided to buy 2, based on your comments. Just wanted to let you know that you were absolutely spot on. We love them! We would have been unhappy with the weight of the 3.0 and we don't feel that we've given up anything. The Lite is simple, nimble, and a joy to ride. Thank you for helping us towards this wise decision.
Nice video, Paul! I got the blue XP LITE a couple weeks ago for the same reasons you did. I’m 66 years old and the same height as you. Glad you mentioned your height so that others would know that it’s not a problem. I unfolded mine out of the box and have not yet folded it back up, so thanks for showing the process! I dig both of your cover ideas. I’m not a full time nomad but I do work and sometimes travel in my Casita camper pulled by my Chevy truck. The XP Lite is a great addition to the fleet! Glad I found your channel! Tommy
Hi Tommy, I really appreciate your comments and glad you are enjoying your XP Lite too. They are so easy to fold. Credit where credit is due, its a great bike. How do you like the Casita? Glad we found your channel also :)
What a great review. As an XP 1.0 owner, I have been on the look out for a bike for my wife's sister who wants to join us on our rides. I choose for my wife a lighter Volt Urban (XP Lite was not available at the time) which she loves. My one concern was that the smaller motor might be a problem but you eliminated that concern by your throttle zoom around the campsite. The lighter weight and extra color options make the XP Lite a perfect choice for her! :Thanks again.
Thanks Chris, glad it helped. The smaller motor is working out fine for us, you still need to pedal, but that was the whole point for, we still wanted some exercise, just not too much, haha!! Hope your wife's sister likes it if you decide to get one. We are still loving our XP Lites. Its good to know the 1.0 is still going good. We appreciate you watching and commenting :)
Very comprehensive. Answered all the questions I could think of for possible purchase. Thanks for weight and space consideration info (top on my list of questions). Thanks for sharing your sensible approach/rationale review.
My hubby and I have the lite and we love them. Ride them all the time. Take them to the camp grounds and they are so much fun. The price, quality, weight and folding ability is what made us choose them. We just didn’t need the 2.0 or some of the other bikes that are so expensive. (Love the cruise control too)
As an owner of a XP Lite I couldn’t agree more with the points you made. The thing I like most about the Lite is it’s simple, no suspension( doesn’t need it) no gears (low maintenance and less weight) and you can actually fold it and put in the trunk because it’s so much lighter and smaller. It has all the power I need, actually more. I shopped and compared for a long time before buying, was almost ready to buy an Eventon Sinch but I’m so glad I bought this instead, the Eventon has great reviews but I don’t want a heavy bike.
Thanks for this, you may have just convinced me to go with the Lite over the newer 3.0. I'm 59yo and obviously don't have the strength I used to have, weight is a concern.
I just purchased the XP lite. I had an issue with the rear rack. I contacted them by email and got quick responses and they fed ex me a replacement the same day.
I got the lite for the exact same reasons! Ease of transport in a car was very important to me. So far I am loving it (and I also got the comfort seat and cargo pack (which was delivered right away). I like the seat but haven't put the cargo stuff on yet...I'm wondering how that will impact the ease of folding/weight, etc. I wonder if I will end up taking it off to transport? Time will tell. :)
PS: I fit it in the backseat floor of my Honda Sedan with the passenger seat all the way forward. I would also work on the seat of the backseat or the trunk. To make it lighter, you can always remove the batter and even the seat. :)
I agree as well, customer service has dropped. The last 2 weeks I’ve received nothing but the run around, they told me multiple different things, and all in all I still don’t have my in stock bike yet. I plan on making a video of how awful my experience was.
Wow, I called customer service, and let's just say I experienced the opposite. First, my wait time was around 6-8 minutes and second, the agent I dealt with was unbelievable and went way out of her way to solve my problem. I must have been lucky.
Glad to hear they are back delivering excellent customer service. The manager that reached out to us promised they were working on it and clearly they have. Great news! Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Thank you!! Very kind of you. I really hope you enjoy them having bigged them up to everyone!!! They were the right choice for our circumstances, we love them.
Well done video, thanks for sharing your experience. One thing I want to mention though.... men are physically stronger than women - God intended it that way and it's not sexist to say it!
Been watching fold e bikes reviews / reading…I am going full time in my converted Ford Transit this upcoming fall…… I like the bigger tires and more range of the full size Lectric ….but it seems like a monster and very clumsy and heavy To unfold and fold to put back in my van on regular basis , and I do not want a bike rack ever….I am pretty fit for 55 Years old man but again the full size Lectric I am afraid would become a pain in the A** really quick . Similar ride style here and have no desire to go fast so this review got me thinking again about the Lectric Lite.
Questions: 1) How is the step-over height getting on the bike? 2) How is just having one gear? Do you find you 'spin out' at higher speeds? I.e. when going 20mph, can you actually pedal - or do you have to just rely on the throttle?
The step-over height is not an issue for me or my wife. The single gear is a little limiting and does spin out at higher speeds downhill, but uphill you still need to peddle in Assist 5. As mentioned, the XP2.0 is the better bike, but the XP Lite suited our needs.
Got the xp a year ago, the one with 7-speeds and front suspension. I tied some wire baskets on it to do grocery shopping. It makes it easy to remove the baskets. No need to get the heavy cargo baskets they sale. 20 MPH is more than fast enough for a bike. Most of the time I am around 12 MPH and peddle assist for exercise. If you are not currently a bicycle person, forget it, you will never be a ebike person.
Thank you. I just have a motorcycle lock from Harbor Freight and lock them together. When in the back of the truck I also thread the cable through the tie down anchors.
The most important consideration for those who would like to purchase an E bike? Are there bike shops willing service them when required and ease of obtaining parts. Imagine what could happen if you lose or misplace your charger. Can you get another one easily? Incidentally, “fupped off” is putting it lightly.
People who are complaining about service.. the more they sale the less of customer service excellence... more sale more issues prone to apear .. same happened with Rad ebikes. All we can do.. we need patience.. and pray for luck.. heheeeeeeeee
They still need to fix some things - if you leave your bike outside locked, someone who knows these bikes can easily steal your battery - there is no lock to keep it safe - the only way is to take the battery with you every time and it looks odd to break apart this bike to take out the battery - the strange way they set it up
@@mattmatter5643 Yes but this is lectric bike - you have to leave the key in the lock for it to be "locked" - if you take the key with you, the battery is unlocked and anyone can take it out. The only way to keep the battery safe is to take it with you every time you lock the bike out in the street
I have a xp lite. Idk about yours, but I can’t take the battery out without the key being in the bike. I have to push in on the key and turn it the opposite way for it to release the battery. Mine is modded with dual batteries so it starts if the keys not in it.
@@mattmatter5643 Yes and then take out the key before the battery can be taken out, so when you leave the bike out in the street, you have to take the battery with you - if you leave it outside with the key or not, anyone who knows how these bikes work, can take off with the battery, sure your bike is locked up but now you don't have the battery
Not an issue for us at all, but we just potter around on them and they are perfect for us, we love them. It would no doubt be better to have the extra gears but as stated in the video, we bought these based on weight, price and compactness. The 2.0 is the better bike but bigger and heavier and that didn't suit our needs. Hope that helps.
The only reason anyone ever chooses a Lectric ebike is that they don't want to spend more money and they know they won't ride enough to matter. Low-end junk designed and built to be sold to uneducated ebike riders.
Thank you for being the only video I've seen so far that showed they can be folded with both the front and rear racks on. :)
Glad that this helped :)

I would like to know what you would recommend then for a light weight ebike under 50lbs.
