My NEW, Three-Dimensional, Homemade "Wheel of Fortune"

- After nearly (15) years, it was time for a glow-up! Introducing my NEW three-dimensional “Wheel of Fortune”!
With the exception of the pegs (nails) and plastic clicker, the Wheel is 100% wooden. The Wheel sits on a bearing to give it a much smoother, more lifelike spin. The numbers/letters were laser cut to the exact font from the show.
I hope you enjoy watching this showcasing as much as I did making the Wheel!

Thank you! The previous Wheel was actually made out of Plexiglass, and the add-on wedges were from cardboard. I couldn’t agree more that the two are night and day differences! :)

What can I say except, I LOVE IT! the numbers of the wedges really make it all stand out, and the sound the flipper makes it sound so realistic! Very well done there, I think you should use that for a game night!
Thank you so much! Part of the struggle with this Wheel was finding the right vendor to laser cut those numbers and letters, some of which are very small and fragile. It all turned out better than expected! Certainly 10x better than the Wheel I made ~15 years ago!

Plus, you only need two more things! Two more flippers, and the bonus wheel, both will be pretty simple to make! (If you still know how to do it)
@@veryhandsomeicon yeah, I thought about two more flippers, but I’d be afraid they would slow down the wheel too much. I do have a “bonus wheel” but it’s basically a piece cardboard with slits that I lay over the main wheel. There’s a video of it on my channel from when I had the previous wheel!
@@ShaneMartinQuizmaster I guess an idea is to make the wheel lighter so it spins faster, and maybe make the flippers out of thin plastic. The bonus wheel would be simple, as you could just make the same wheel, preferably smaller, and just do the same as usual, but add slits into the wheel. There could be room for improvement, of course, but if you like it that way, it’s safe to say you should be, as that wheel is fantastic

@@ShaneMartinQuizmaster first and foremost thank you for the compliments! second, they spin it around and take some wedges off depending on the round (2014 Teachers week promo showed us that) third, very down to earth people and also very funny people. Fourth, the wheel weighs 2400 pounds (fact from 2017 video game) knowing that info I had to give it my all it's very heavy like everyone says.

Thank you!!! The Wheel is a solid circular piece of wood bought from Home Depot (24”). The letters and numbers were 3D laser cut out of wood from a company I found on the internet. The rest was just spray paint and nails!

Unfortunately, this is a true one-of-a-kind creation. The numbers and letters were all laser cut from a wooden craft company, but the most difficult part was spray painting the wedges into the wooden wheel. Took many many many many many recoats due to bleeding onto adjacent wedges and such. Would never want to go through that again. Very much appreciate the offer, however! If you take a look at my channel, you’ll see I did a similar project constructing the Price is Right Wheel!

I wish I did! Even so, it wouldn’t have been anything impressive. That’s why my video shows my previous Wheel made out of plexiglass, paper, and tape and compares it to my new wooden painted wheel.
