    Grappling arts are the most effective and beautiful. Pair judo and bjj together and take the training very seriously, then if you can learn hapkido.

    The problem people don’t understand is that, when demonstrating martial arts moves it’s very easy to brake bones if you’re helping and don’t fall the right way , snapping your arms take a long time to heal. Have grown up in a martial arts family I was always my instructor fathers fall guy. When in a real situation you aren’t really going to worry too much about braking bones.

    Great choreography, but that's all it is. In real fights, a 300 lb thug don't flip like :07, :12 and definitely not :24

      Not all techniques are appropriate for all situations. This isn’t a self defense lesson, it’s a technical locking demo.

      The 300lbs thug dose not have to fall, they just have to be broken. The falling is so you can practice without getting hurt.

    Looks beautiful, like dancing. But does anyone truly still believe this actually works against other fighters in disciplines where they spar against willing combatants from multiple arts like boxing, Muay Thai, BJJ, Judo etc? That have proven themselves? Hapkido is just a nice looking martial art, and it is an art. But you shouldn't kid yourself that it works.

      Depends what you mean by “this” actually works. This is just a technique demo - it’s not a street application demo. Yes, people that train these techniques for years and pressure test them against a range of opponents at various skill levels do believe these techniques work, under the right circumstances. Using a strategy of primarily locking against multiple attackers is obviously fictitious.
      This is a piece of choreography, intending to highlight a few techniques and transitions. But none of these techniques are exclusive to Hapkido… I’ve cross trained in many disciplines over the years (all those you mentioned and more). BBJ practitioners will recognize their elbow and shoulder locks here, Judo practitioners their carries and throws, and Filipino boxing practitioners their intercepts and transitions.

    Not even in 1000 years would you be able to pull off any of that unless your attacker was 80 years old and drunk

      @@della1731 you do realize this is an art piece/technical demo set to Beethoven, yes? Are you that guy that complains about actors using blanks when they shoot someone when you see a movie?
      It’s a choreographed scene (integrating legitimate locking techniques). If you think someone could choreograph this and yet have no clue about practical and relevant applications, you’re naive or delusional. This video isn’t selling or promoting anything.
      Try to keep some perspective. If we shot it at 23 frames a second and included closeups and faster cuts it would have contained far more realism.

    • @della1731
      @della1731 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ShaolinRopeDart it contains ZERO realistic movement actions or reactions.
      This would never be the outcome of any real conflict and insisting it would Is naive for a beginner as and delusional for a long time martial artist.
      Your lengthy speech and attempt to insult me intelligently has nothing to do with the truth .
      Impress your students or followers with realism and if you can't provide that you should seriously change direction
