  • On a cold october night we were forced to use Walmart's handheld radio to contact help. After waiting for five minutes we needed a plan to purchase our snacks.

      while murs can be used wal mart can trespass you for talking to them on the property which I have seen done many times. if they have a issue with interference from too many they switch to encrypted 900 mhz dtr radios. many are slowly going to this now or larger cities they are going to a mototrbo trunk system in that given city.

      LosRioDelMar And, you're plugged FULL of uneducated bullshit.
      You've never seen anyone trespassed from ANY place for using public frequencies. Take it from a 41+ year operator of many frequencies. READ BEFORE OUTRIGHT "SPINNING A TALE" OUT OF THE BLUE SKY.

      LosRioDelMar why would Walmart need a mototrbo trunking system , an xpr3500 on five watts on an assigned business frequency would be more then adequate heck maybe ip site connect

    • @TheTheo58
      @TheTheo58 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a trunked radio system for a retail store point to point communications. Those systems are very very expensive and complex, using computers for system frequencies, primary and secondary control frequencies, site controllers, repeaters, Alpha tag talk group ID's. The portable and mobile radios are more complex and often cost more than a conventional radio. Trucked system would be used in a large metro area with fire, police, public works, emergency response, transit, highway, DOT, and State Police.

    • @TheTheo58
      @TheTheo58 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Walmart can apply for an FCC business radio services license grant, there are several portable Motorola's programmed for VHF/UHF business radio frequencies.

    I'm so glad I don't have listen to this anymore as a former employee. I got fired for gross misconduct on May 12 and 18 days later on May 30 started a new job. May 26 I had an interview at my new job at a smaller grocery store job and going from $14 an hour at Walmart after 4 years and 3 months there starting in apparel and then going janitorial maintenance full time. My new job is part-time at $15.50 an hour at the supermarket and have some sanity back. I was fired from Walmart for gross misconduct and ineligible to be rehired. Walmart did me a favor. I still have lingering pains from the maintenance job from tossing garbage into the compactor on my left collarbone and around my groin which I hope I don't have a hernia or tear. I have to get that checked when I finally have health insurance. Aside from what I did to get fired and deeply regret, I feel free from Walmart. Fuck the Waltons, Fuck Sam's Club and Fuck Walmart!

    I didn’t know customers were even allowed to use the store radios! They have a fit where I just listen in if I’m shopping there which is rare. I’m supposed that the manager didn’t go off on them too. Course, murs is an fcc sanctioned service designed for license free use by the general public too, so that helps too.

    funny. I'm surprised they left it there. most guard those cheap murs radios. murs is licensee free rule so anyone can talk on murs however if you intentionally interfere they trespass you from the property but cant do anythint if your off thr property but if they have s problem enough they'll go to the 900mhz spread hopping junk. most wal marts are now slowly migrating to mototrbo with enhanced privacy or the cheaper free 900 mhz spread spectrum hopping digital crap with enhanced privacy option due to outside intentional interference. 2 new wal marts were built by where I live and they gave the pd a few of the 900mhz spread hop radios for officers if needed which we never used them for calls there but I took one home anyway since I live literally between the two. while boring it can be interesting listening to them sometimes since I can hear both stores one a super and other a neighborhood one both couple blocks away opposite directions.

So there's nothing wrong with using are employees walkie-talkie to get help at a cash register whenever you can. However some Walmart employees can be real dick heads about it. Luckily for you they were not but hey I never thought of that I've stood in line before like that and usually I just move on to another register.
