We see that if the locals are scared for you, it’s likely not a safe place, but on the flip side, we see those locals caring for you - which shows that there are good people, even in bad parts. I hope you learned some lessons here for your future travels. This is not a safe part of Cartagena. The odds of you getting killed would still be low, but as a skinny white guy with no Spanish skills really, you are a massive target for a not so nice experience haha. One thing I would also recommend is whenever someone is asking if you are alone here, no matter how innocent they look, tell them no, that you are meeting friends. One text to their buddies that there is a gringo with a camera and backpack walking around, and it won’t take long to lose those items. Stay safe man, I really enjoyed this video nonetheless!
they said to you that was a bad idea, I recomend you don't do it agian at least without search information about how safe it's the zone or you can ended in a "bad place". I am colombian and I think you are testing your luck, most of the time you will be ok and don't happen noting bad but you can have a unlucky day. Most of colombians are kindly and friendly like the motorbike guy but you can found bad people like every country so please be carefull and search information about the no touristic spots that you can visit safety, there are a lot.
Hi, I know this zone of Cartagena and it's not safe , try to be more careful. Look for more information about the barrio you are in Olaya Herrera and is one of the dangerous zone. But I like your attitude 😊... I ve a house there and if you want to try the experience (but in safe mode) I can help you. I'm Italian living in Italia but I can help you to meet the right people. Everyone wears their bag/bagpack in the front.....U should do the same.....so many "shady" caracters salivating over UR bagpack. Its dangerous during D day...can't imagine @ night B very careful...
This seems like such a bad idea especially with no spanish skills to bail you out. I know other youtubers challenge idea of the most dangerous neighborhoods can be, but they can at least speak spanish fluently. Think you're being a bit naive here.
