COMPASS is a mission empowered by a vision to proclaim the Almighty God in the Name of Jesus Christ in Spirit and truth. In this time of pandemic, a small interdenominational group of individuals teamed up to accomplish a part of this vision through Zoom video conferencing app. By the Grace of God, people from many different backgrounds, irrespective of denominations join together in Zoom (streaming live in TH-cam & Facebook) to worship and proclaim the word of God every day. It has been a blessing throughout these days.

A few bible verses that talk about purgatory.
2 Maccabees 12:38-46. Judas Maccabee ordered that sacrifices be offered in the Temple in Jerusalem for slain Jewish soldiers who had worn pagan amulets.
In the New Testament, arguably the clearest reference to purgatory comes in Matthew’s Gospel (12:32), where Jesus states that “whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come” - implying that there are at least some sins that can be forgiven in the next life.

Jesus speaks parabolically but directly, here. The metaphor of the “prison” implies a temporary “holding place” for purgatorial suffering. The “penny,” or kodtrantes, represents the “lesser transgressions” being emphasized. These would be venial sins for which Christians can make atonement in cooperation with God’s grace.
Interestingly, the Greek word for prison, phulake, is the same word used by St. Peter to describe the spiritual “holding place” into which Jesus descended after his death to liberate the detained souls of Old Testament believers (1 Pet. 3:19).
