Don't blame yourself for your rounds hitting the debris and disappearing, I've tested this.
As of now and until they fix this, any "dead" model of anything, buildings, tank corpses, and even planes sometimes block/absorb rounds in their entirety. For example someone who hides behind a - let's say, a Centaro's corpse. In game it's armor is paper thin when being shot at by APFSDS of any kind, while the model of the tank is "alive" rounds go in one side and exit out the other, meaning you can collateral other tanks behind them, however, if they're already dead and you try to pierce the hull to hit a tank behind them the corpse of the Centaro would absorb your round as if you never fired it.
Talking about debris, did you know that fallen debris now have mass and thus momentum. When a piece of debris lands and stays on your tank moving becomes much more difficult as if it added weight of was fighting your tanks movement.
@@f-104starfighter4 Oh just found this out too, hitboxes of tanks remain as full, meaning a tank's turret can be physically blown off after you hit it's ammo, but the hitbox of the turret remains in place. So hull down behind a turretless tank corpse means your still stuffing you barrel in a non-existent turret basket, so when you fire - like I've said in the above, your round is completely absorbed by the invisible hitbox.

except the 2A5 has been through nerf after nerf. what's beyond me is the Armor on T80U hull. like tanks that came 15 to 20 years after still can' t pen it yet the T64B from 60s can pen the 1990s NATO tanks like no tomorrow. Because clearly irl NATO tanks are far inferior to USSR tanks we all know that!
@@kiranplays2688 T-80U has kontakt 5. In the game, kontakt 5 acts like a plate that stops 120mm of armour. Instead of 780mm if armour, in tests, kontakt 5 stopped M829A2. And DM53 is a M829A2 copy. Not only that. But 1970 tanks can destroy 2016 tanks. Russian tanks were far better than NATO ones. Also, M829 can pen T-64Bs UFP. And that thing came 3 years ago!

@@tomasrichtr9554 red eyes/IR lights are only turned on by either the APS activating or if the user has it turned on for some reason
so in real life at least. the time fused explosive round is supposed to be automatically fused, when you use the laser range finder. this will allow you to make it explode in the air for airburst against infantry in cover. or let it explode inside after going trough a wall, rather then when it contacts the wall.
it would also work against helicopters provided you manage to correctly range the helicopter and thus set the correct timer on the fuse.
in real life the laser warning system is supposed to automatically turn the turret to face the source of the laser.

I agree with the struggles of this tank. As much as people say Russia is OP I always have difficulties with their tanks. No reverse speed, shit gun handling, always ammo racked, shit is rough...

0:50 Honestly, this is why I love Soviet/Russian tank design so much. As opposed to, say, the Abrams or the Leopard, all armour and addons are internal. The Russians just have their barebone tanks and just slap on whatever is needed or available. Very modular and actually more aesthetically pleasing than the boring looking Abrams, because the T-72s, T-80s and T-90s actually have stuff going on without hiding it.
That last part is just your opinion, Leo's and Abrams look cool, T90s look like a fucking box

the timed-fuse HE round is actually very useful. It's good against hull down campers, you only need to rangefind their MG or anything on the turret and simply shoot above the turret. It will cripple or even insta kill tanks, especially ATGM vehicles camping behind a hill.
The LWR needs audio warning or else you wont ever now you being painted unless you look down left
And automatic smoke dischraging if a missile with laser guidence is being shoot at you if you have turned you turret at the general direction
In my opinion T80U for me is for close engagements and t72b3/t90a for sniping

The series 2 did get a slight partial thickness increase on the turret and a few bits of bold on applique armour, but most of the changes were for crew comfort and reliability.

I still prefer my T80U over the T90A, when I got the T90A I noticed how it drives, definetly too slow of a tank for my fit. Its basically just another T72, but its a slow variant. No hate towards the tank it still is fun to play and im glad i managed to get it.

To be honest, personally I like the looks of the T-90A way more than any of those wind-canal Lamborghini-esque cyber tanks from other nations. (I overexxagerated but you get my point)
I'd rather have all kinds of shit stuck on the turret than just some boring straight plates like the leopard for example. But that's personal taste I guess.

Actually diesel engines are louder in real life than turbine engines but for some reason in previous updates Gaijin never fixed the volume of the engines so you could hear a turbine engine tank coming from a mile away while diesel engine tanks were so quiet that you could barely hear them at all.
Also the Leopard 2's engine is actually louder than an Abrams engine, look it up if you're interested

It is about settings. You can turn off your engine sound and max other players engine sounds. It is relly helpful. Air RB, ground RB, doesnt matter

The thing is that the t90 is a cheap tank and wast never build to be the best tank or have the best technology. There are far more superior _Russian Object prototype that would shit in anything that nato has. But Russian economy would never afford them. Like obj187 that was the other tank running a long the t90 dev. That thing has no frontal weak point aside for the lower plate. Frontal armour is the same as t90a turret armour. And it have t80 lv of mobility. With a shell Anker1 that would be on lv of DM43.
Don't even talk about all the Object that lead to development of the Armata.

I've seen fuel tank and engine explosions classified as "ammunition detonation" for some reason. I'm not sure if the game counts ghost ammoracks or the actual components as culprits.

@@qwispychild9491 i don't pay attention but if i get shot there chances are my crew dies with or without ammo detonation... so idk but logically speaking less ammo improves survivability incase the shell doesn't kill the crew or detonate the ammo but rather just passes trought and kills the engine xd

Just letting u guys know, if ur used to the t80u, ur probably not gonna like this tank
There is nothing that this tank brings to the table that the t80u doesn’t bring except the new round and the very situational shtora aps
The t80u is:
Faster
Quicker(turret rotation/depression/gun handling)
And more armored
And u might be wondering, “more armored?” Yes
Against dm53, the t80u stands a better chance
At 0-1000 meters, dm53 goes right though the t90a except the upper shoulders, whereas for the t80u, there are a bunch of trap shots/ glitchy sports on the hull(between each of the era slots) that are impenetrable by any shell in the game
So unless the t90a gets changed in some sort of way, the t80u is still superior
@M.Chairu yea, idk. I do know for a fact that 2 things are incorrectly modeled. 1 is the turret armor, it is supposed to be substantially stronger. The turret is like a diamond shape, so in the trials done on the turret, shooting it head on (gun facing target in the flat parts) it was impenetrable against shells used, meaning it has around 750mm, and then when it was shot at from the 45 degree angle(head on armor brick side) it was estimated to be about 900mm of thickness.
The second thing is the turret speed, apparently the turret speed now is from the t90(old turret design) and it should be about the same as the t72b3 with about 35degres per second.
Aside from that, the hull armor I think is correct, the mobility and everything. Honestly, the t90 just isn’t the tank we all thought it was, and people including gaijin kinda warned us too, so it’s our own fault that we got our hopes up
@M.Chairu I’d like to say, it’s not a bad tank, as a matter of fact, I’d say it’s a great sniping tank, especially with its round, but it’s not a good brawler like the t80u or t72b3
X_Glitches_ 2014 In protection analysis, I noticed that the T72B3 upper front plate has a better chance at stopping DM53. I also heard the T90A is missing armor values on its upper front plate.
@@Bruh23732 yes, if I remember correctly, T90A and t72b3 have the same Hull armor, nothing different. And going by that standard, it should have about 650mm of armor los. So I do believe both of them are missing about 25-50mm of armor. But until that is fixed, if even, it's gonna be one shot a lot

Gaijin does this, they buff certain vehicles after adding new vehicles and premium packs to piss people off and switch sides to buy these premiums and GE to spend on getting to the extra buffed vehicles, ive been playing a lot of matches yesterday, all the weakspots on the 2A5, even on the weak front hull, seem to bounce off and non-pen most of the times. Give it a week or two at max untill leo 2A5 goes back to being oneshotted from the front when gaijin has milked all wallets from their playerbase
@@RKForeigner So, what i was referring to was actually ghost shells/ latency bounces. You can see in the video, Justin fires 3 shots into that dude, with only 1 of them impacting the enemy tank. I don't think the problem is overbuffed tanks, I think the problem is that Gaijin didn't do any internal playtesting (what's new, right?) And have completely borked the stability of this update.

T90A could use 3BM60 and T80U could use 3BM38 as well. i dont know why gaijin doesnt want to add it, fyi 3BM60 has 750mm 0° at 2000m pen and 3BM32 has 500mm pen 0° at 2000m

hey, I want to grab myself a premium to grind for the USSR tech tree.
I already grinded the US, GER and French one without premium vehicles / account and I honestly don't want to go the full route again with USSR vehicles (I'm currently at the T-44 100)
So I was wondering : Since they cost the same, would you recommend the T-55 AM1 or the new T-72 AV? (I'm higly biased towards the T-72 tho)
T72 is beter but high tier is not that fun that include t55
The T-55AM-1 is fun and playable even in a full uptier whereas the T-72AV? Nah, you'll just get bitchslapped by everything that sees you as you will get uptiered to 10.7 constantly.
As others have said the T-72 will get bitchslapped around, while the T-55AM1 has composite armor at a BR where no one else does, APFSDS at a BR where they all lolpen, ATGMs, a twoplane stabilizer where you will still encounter tanks that don't have it. All the while you being hard to pen because HEATFS is the most common round. Take care against the british though are or anything with APFSDS. Survivability in the T-55 is also a tad higher since your delete button is on the right side of your hull instead of the entire hull.

The game feels like there is a small delay between the hit and the actual damage done.
As if they added some server verification to it.
It is helping me greatly with my 20 ping, whereas before I was being killed by laggers being able to peek above mounts and corners before I could see them.

What has surprised me is that this tank has the exact same layout of the hull armor to the 72B-series and the upper hull provides 20-30mm less protection compared to 72B3, 72B obr.1989 and 80U. Either its a bug or will be implimented to other T-series which would make the L44 DM53 a tad more usefull and even the DM43 with the Leclerc. Say what you will but the lack of weakpoints frontally compared to the western tanks is unfair and detremental. It's not that i can't make even the DM13 work at top tier, it's just no fun to go cheeky breeky rolling thunder through maps

@@lumonic8324 that's pretty much taken out of context man. It has nothing to do with IRL tank design. What my comment concerns is the game where GJ has intentionally reduced the angled pen of mono-bloc long rods so that they won't just lol pen everything. But this has lead to the situation where rounds that were designed to defeat Heavy-ERA, i.e. DM53 from L44(Even the DM33 was desgined to counter Kontakt-5 to some extent) will be countered with 100% efficency. Also you're missing the other point. WT maps are designed to iniate action as soon as possible which means tanks that were designed for hull-down fire(All western tanks) are at an obvious disadvantage especially now since russian tanks can match the speed of nato tanks and shrug of shells fired from an C1 Ariete

@@m1a1abrams3 the method western nations used to counter heavy-era was to increase the length of the rod which increased the perforation. To my knowledge first rounds designed with this in mind were the M829A1(the uranium core helps but doesn't provide that much increase compared to tungsten) and DM33 which are almost the same length. GJ simply has reduced the angled pen of all long rods, including russian, so it will be really weird when they introduce the M829A2, Charm 3, and 3BM44-60 as to what those penetrstion values will be. Still the LOS penetration of the rounds(which is to double the value of pen at 60°) is in the ball park of the estimated irl penetration, i feel like the armor effectivness is a tad high with russian vehicles. Also the new round of L27A1 which sports a nogded tip isnt corrdctly implimented. The british charm 1 had a nodged tip to have best of both worlds, angled pen and flat pen which the first gen russian apfsds rounds were exceptionally good at with their slug style apfsds

Can any of the new shells besides the A6's pen the T series tanks on the UFP? I know in the armor viewer it give the UFPs around 600mm of protection, but armor viewer isnt active gameplay.
Well you can penetrate the UFP if you dont hit the kontakt-5
In regards to the intro... since 2.0 is live I feel like I didnt play a tank rb without lags like this. Even with a ping around 60-ish and no package loss at all the server lag is massive. Whenever I was in "tank cqb" and I saw the enemy first and also shot first I suddely died because WT was like "nope time to balans you... secrit dokumens u know"
In Soviet Russia some tanks are just more balanced than the other.
Soviet and American MBTs is a good example of balance, not like the 2A6 with its ridiculously op gun

The good thing is Chally 2 got the L27A1 and finnaly he come Out With 720mm pen and got Instant nerfed down to 538 but this is ok His Armor ist at the Moment strong enough to hold 530 mm against apfsds and so T90 ans Stryker I GAVE A FUCK OFF xD
