Speaking of heavy bombers, did you know that PB4Y-2 has a bomb load rivaling the B-29 since the PB4Y-2 can carry 8 sea mines that each have an explosive mass close to the American 2000 lb bombs? I believe the B-29 wins out in max payload by like 240 kgs of explosive mass.
Goddamn love the Catalina, especially flying fast and low - there's no feeling like the low rumble of your own bombs shaking through the plane as your target goes up in smoke behind you. Also has the nice advantage of covering your underside, seeing as there's absolutely no turret coverage there.

All right so story time, me and the boys came up with a plan for using bombers in air rb, now, this plan was simple, take the Stirling with 9x1,000 pound bombs, take off from the airfield, and stay low and to the side of the battle, do some “aerobatics”, deliver the pay load and get back. By staying low we forced the enemy to not be able to attack from below, stayed hidden, and most of the enemies went up. It was honestly really fun
500 pound bombs aren't big enough to cause damage left and right of the line of bombs. You might want to use the Tu-4 with the 4 x 3000kg or 8 x 1500kg bomb loadout.
Reminds me of a game I had at like 6.3 where someone on the enemy team brought one of these out and was EXCEPTIONALLY good at pinpoint bombing with it at low altitude. Killed like 7 of us before we finally got some aircraft up to kill it because we had no SPAA up.

I tell him to try harder at not staying in one place for them to get a shot like that. He never plays the objective, and is usually the first to die.
