I miss raising rollers in the early 70s I had some pensom rollers ,it was a big thing back the a lot of clubs ,and the American pigeon journal you could get birds from all over .

HEY Keith ,Always good understanding in your loft management. question in putting together a kit for our NBRC fly this season last years birds were very good 7 made into my breeding program how ever my question is i want to pull those im breeding out of and show the club their quality of spin, should i , put the seven back in the kit box after this round , before you say i know what is best for them, im in denver colorado, i pretty sure the BOP have left the area . so whats your opinion on it i dont have alot of birds to choose from is some what of my problem, would you chance it .i dont even have enough for 20 bird kit , i have some stock holdover im putting in the kit ,however they are un-flown . just thought i would ask a brothers advice . thanks Karl P. First of all, sorry for the late response. You have to decide what's best for your program. The percentage of the birds surviving, how far would losing them set you back?
First, the bird/s have roll with good quality and adequate speed. Frequency is important but must not be confused with kit sensitivity. Depending on depth a frequent bird of 20' - 30' should roll about every 20 secs which is 3× a min. Try to get all your birds rolling twice a min.
I tried to get crested roller pigeons from hector coya but he wasn't interested in shipping the birds to me in North Cali. Do you have any recommendations for quality crested rollers?

PapiZ28, I would recommend Hecter Coya as well. That's the only place I ever seen them spin.
