Here’s what’s interesting about this to me. I lived in Greece from 1990 to Nov 1998. I remember hearing Telly tell this story in Greek on Greek TV. It was spooky but what impressed me was hearing him speak Greek with an American accent. That was similar when I watched “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. American pronunciation was not as precise as native speakers. Then again Greek pronunciation varies by region. I first lived in Thrace then moved to Macedonia (the Greek province not the country) and some words were different and pronounced slightly differently. I still speak Thracian Greek. I never heard the golf part of the story or anything else. I wonder what the other half was and why this ghost was somehow connected to him. What I find missing in this version is that the guy driving the Cadillac mentioned to him that some professional baseball player had just died. Later Telly saw in the newspaper that the baseball player had died exactly at the time he was getting the ride with the ghost. There must have been some connection between them of which he wasn’t aware but that might have been the rest of the story. For example Telly served with American forces in WW2. The ghost may have been a guy in his army unit that he didn’t know or remember.
Bewildered by the nature of the spirit in question? To be able to materialise to drive & push a car, never imagined could be possible? Though it appears to me the motive for the spirit appearing may've been to reassure Telly that spirit guides are in attendance for those of impending death .. which they indeed are. (I believe all deaths accord with destiny) No indication this spirit / ghost was anything other than helpful.
This first encounter was around June 27, 1955. Harry Agganis was a first baseman for the Boston Red Sox who died on that date. He was known as the "Golden Greek." If you think this so called ghost was a friendly ghost see what else Telly says happened on Nov 22, 1963.

@@lorastock4939 If you could speak to the real Bath locals you will hear some mind blowing stories involving the supernatural. My Father was inside a very old farmhouse at Newton St Loe near Bath conversing with several people in the kitchen when all of a sudden a glass on an old pine table flew very rapidly toward the stone fireplace and smashed into smithereens. Everyone was stunned into silence. The villages in England are very ancient and there are thousands of true stories like these. Check out the book Paranormal Bath.
It sounds like it did. Honestly, it seemed to take delight in tormenting him. It seemed to tease and taunt him. Especially, when it asked him if he had heard about what had happened in Dallas. What was the point of doing that? Telly would have found out, eventually. It served no purpose to me, other than to instill fear and uncertainty in Telly's life. That was not a helpful spirit, in my humble opinion. Maybe it was jealous of Telly and of his success. We have to remember, that the spirit was possibly of the man who ended his own life. Maybe he was bitter and jealous that he did not succeed and live a full life, while Telly did?
@@ingleringlet-snipps3rd449 It definitely didn’t seem like a completely benign spirit or whatever. Even though it did fix his car trouble. But like you say, what’s the point of telling him that two famous people had just died basically, before it was even in the news - or maybe minutes before it even happened to both men. Was the ghost taunting him about his own eventual death? Or somehow trying to help by giving him these psychic warnings of different tragedies? Very odd.
The question you have to ask is why would a guy like Telly tell some bullshit story when hes already famous? Some people do this kind of thing to get attention or famous but Telly had absolutely nothing to gain from telling this story and this is what makes me believe him 100%👌
I can tell you this. I have a story somewhat similar to TS's but mine was not spooky at all. I thought it somewhat strange immediately for a couple of reasons. A few years later I saw TS tell his story on this show in 1993 (apparently the last television appearance that TS ever made). Later in life I would look back at my story and watching this now I think about it all the time.
It's really compelling for reasons outlined by OP. He doesn't need attention or money, a no BS kinda guy. Also internet etiquette says you can't tease a story then not tell it 😄
I wish TS had told the rest of the story.. They cut out the baseball player thing in this version (it's also on YT). But I had never heard the golf story until right now. Freaky.

There's an episode in Kojack where he's questioning a suspect and Kojack said to him the guy you're identifying has been dead for 2 years he blew his brains out up in Boston.
I was just thinking of this story yesterday and wondering how I was going to find it again on YT, when this morning, someone commented and it was sent to my email.!
Ted Oldham. I know someone who actually saw the ghost of the Shockerwick lady in her Rolls Royce 'Silver Ghost' with her long scarf trailing behind her. This person was just about to pull out of a tunnel at a junction on the Lower Bristol Road in Bath. The slip road is opposite the Full Moon pub in Twerton, Bath. The local man was just about to pull out of the archway when the woman in the car raced past after breaking through fog. It was 03:50 hours and the roads were empty. He said that he will always stand by what he saw. The lady of Shockerwick has been seen by other people in the West Country and there are written accounts of her appearance all describing the same things.
I believe the mystery man was himself a baseball player who survived a suicide attempt and decided to play dead. The mystery man details matches a real life sports star who owned a resturant (which probably had a bar), and shot himself in the throat because of some incident involving him cheating on his wife with another woman.
Did he really? So the 3rd visit from "Johnny" happened somewhere after the second visit in 1957, 1963 ---- 1994. I want to know what the third time was about. I keep hoping someone who knows will post the story. Keeping my fingers crossed.
@@pinklady7184 I am not so sure it was benevolent. Look at the effect it had on Telly. It clearly affected him throughout his life and he hints that there were other experiences he had that he would not reveal.
Ingle Ringlet-Snipps 3rd I think I well understand what effect it had on Telly. Been there, done that. I have lived in a few haunted houses and I work in a haunted shop. I am a Christian and I am much accustomed to hauntings. It took me few years to lose all fears of one such ghost and acclimatise to his presence. He has saved my life over 20 times. He saved me from stalkers, rapists, murderers, etc; also from many spiritual attacks; and also from few heart attacks, brain haemorrhages, fires, etc. At the beginning, I was petrified of him just because he was an unseen ghost whom I could not see. His presence was enough to make my lungs collapse in shock. Whenever I feared him, he always swiftly put me to sleep, his way of alleviating my fears. He ensured I had restful sleep, no nightmares, no sleep paralysis. Initially, I grossly misunderstood him, before I saw how he was constantly protecting me from multiple dangers, no matter their extremity. He was my guardian all along. Today, I have lost all fears of him, no matter his haunting patterns. Nowadays, his presence always increases my sense of safety.
Back in 99 when I first saw this on television it fascinated me I'm not saying I totally believe him but I think there's something possibly in this Telly Savalas tells us that he cannot cope with telling us the other 50% of this I speculate maybe he told Telly Savalas that he's death is near that would make sense!😮😢🥶💀 you will be crossing over soon Telly Savalas I will see you then!👋

Me too. What a lovely and masculine man he was. They don't make em like Telly Savalas anymore.

He wasnt a ghostly baseball player...James Cullen (the ghost ) told Telly about the baseball player

What happened to the footage of the ghost making reference to the baseball player who subsequently died?

So he supposedly saw the guy again and he didn’t talk to him just kept playing golf? LOL
