Those were the days. I loved those days. Kojak was and still is a great show in 2021. A man like Telly is nowhere to be seen in these days. Fantastic actor and a character with a huge personality. You never see honest personality these days. All fake, and all about the money and the future career. No one takes risks.
Telly Savalas he was one of the rare ones in this world somebody who didn't have to say a word but stood out in any crowd any company which were poor and he was an exemplary person who really cared about people and when he passed away the world will never see the likes of him again
A class act that has never been matched since.handsome well spoken a man of class they don't make them like telly anymore Aristotles savales gone but never will be forgotten.
I am 65, I wish I could call my Mum, she passed away 24 years ago when I was studying Fine Art at University, I miss my Mum every day. I would give anything to say Hello one last time. 🙂
That's what's wrong with the world, family ain't sticking together no more but believe you me if my mother was alive I'd be with her, right now ♥️ I miss you Mom...
What a guy. I grew up watching 'Kojak', loved it. He is so right about mum's - I became a carer for my mum in her later years and I'm so glad I did because she was the best person in my life. 🙏💔
I was born just as Kojak ended. I have heard of this show for many years but have just now started watching it. I love Telly and came looking to find out what kind of person he was. Wow...what a guy.
"we never had a key" said his mother 9:17 about the big Garden city house .... Wow ... Glad telly got that in .... Cause the house was never locked to any relative or friend. He is 100 this year , he's still around :)
Telly salvlas was the most sexy bald man I ever seen. Always loved him he was a class act. Didn't realize how smart him and his brother George was telly went to coulimbia university which is very impressive. I wish he was right at the time of this interview should of lived much longer. Rest in peace ☮️ telly and George. I watch kojack every night on get tv.
There is a mystery about Kojak, linked to a second mystery, which someone out here who knows a lot about the series might be able to solve. It concerns the name KOJAK itself. I never thought the name sounded Greek, so I looked into it. It seems that one name KOJAK, (having the much more common variant KOZAK), is in fact the word "Cossack" used in Poland, Ukraine, and Russia. I was intrigued by this as a favourite horror film classic of mine was "Horror Express", made in 1972, only shortly before Kojak started. In this film Telly Savalas played a Cossack officer whose men fight against a monster on the Trans-Siberian express. This seemed more than a coincidence. This leads though to the second mystery, the never mentioned portrait on Kojak's office wall. In only one early episode in the first series (sorry I can't remember which) is there a brief close up of the portrait. I can just about make out the name "Captain Koj.... ???". I have always assumed that this portrait, which is never explained, is supposed to be Kojak's father, grandfather or some other hero in Kojak's family history. It implies that Kojak is a contraction of a much longer Greek name. Anyone know anything about this?
This is quite interesting. I never thought about how they came up with the name Kojak, or whose iidea it was.... It would be great to know how this came about...
Horror Express, saw this as a child, seemed some alien life form crashed and would possess your body as it looked into your eyes until they bled out blood, scary back then !
Love him he had a swagger and was such a cool guy. I think he was a sexy man not handsome like my second love mark Harmon. But there was something about him I found very sexy. Rest in peace ☮️. You are a great actor your a icon you are missed died too soon.
I'm just old enough with a very long memory to remember how huge Telly Savalas was, yet that his singing was just terrible. He really couldn't sing very well at all. Now, while I've been blessed to keep all my hair in my now middle age years, I once shaved my head on a lark, and an older friend in my church congregation at the time would call me Kojak. "Hey, Kojak!" he'd say, and while I was only 4 years old when the series ended in 1978, I knew the answer had to be "Who loves ya, baby?"
I find it both funny and sad that a man with a great name (Aristotle) kept an almost ridiculous diminutive like "Telly", which sounds more like an object than a person, as a stage name just to fit into and make a career in American society.

Telly was spot on about why things are so messed if only he were around to see his statement come into fruition.

Charming Greek. Love his personality.
Don't forget, he also battled it out with Talky Tina. ;) RIP Telly.
Telly's daughter Ariana is a singer and songwriter. She sings with Postmodern Jukebox.

I named my son Aristotle after him,,
He was right about his sex appeal.
I remember One on One with John Tesh as part of NBC's daytime lineup. It aired at 10:30a CT here in Chicago.

@@emperorcommodus2315 It's a great film with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee too. A kind of 'Spaghetti Horror' film.
Nice guy !
Mi manchi da morire
This man was a real man; I learned so much about how to deal w/ppl from watching his character on Kojak
Greek All-American, May He R.I.P.
He's been gone 30 years this year. Time goes fast.
If I was to pick out one characteristic to distinguish Lieutenant Theo Kojak from other TV cops, it would be "The Sarcastic Cop"!

Ι love you Aristoteli❤
Sadly he didn't stick around. He died 3 years after this interview.
I knew all that
Something tells me he was OSS during W2
He was awarded a purple heart during his 3 years of active service in WW2
He was Fine🥰😳😉

Actually I think his version on " some broken hearts never mend" was better than the Don Williams version but his other songs weren't so good
Come on ! He is almost 70 years old in the video? Get outta here
his real name was Teliconatta Yatrou.
He looked better bald
He could be great Luthor.
Dead 3 years later. Sad.
TELLY COME ON HE KNEW HE WAS A SEX SIMPLE HAD A CRUSH ON HIM AT 24 BACK THEN RIP 🙏 TELLY LOVES ❤ YA BABY
He wasn't a captain he was a lieutenant
This man is sexy because he has class.
I don't think so columbo was a lot more better than any other police story.
I’m sorry but I couldn’t take the tootsie roll stupid .

The dirty dozen.
Actors are generally not good singers.
Singers are generally not good actors.
Telly was not an exception.
Johnny Cash was great at both
@@RJ1999x I thought he did a terrible impersonation of a singer!
@@MisAnnThorpeJohnny Cash?
@@RJ1999x Yes, it was a failed attempt at a joke; although technically speaking, Cash was hardly a singer.
