You could mount your microwave next to the fridge on the wall and just add a smaller cabinet above it (like the ones that go above a fridge). That would give you more counter space, but also give you a small cabinet to store things in.

You should check out little Blessed Nest last video. She showed a light bulb that can be put into a fixture that isn’t wired. It would be nice to put a black farmhouse light above the shelves.
Arika, I have the exact same fridge.And in white!! Mine is about 11 mos older than yours. We love it and have had no issues. We couldn't figure out that shelf "thing" either, and just left it out. I keep all my bags of frozen veggies & fruit in that pull out drawer in the bottom. I tried meat down there, but we are in our 70's and trying to find the right pkg of meat down there wasn't always easy. The veggie bags with picures are more recognizable, so easier to find down in that drawer. Problems with getting old!!!! I think your family will enjoy the ice and water dispenser. We drink a lot of water, and it is nice to have it cold. Enjoy your new appliance!

Plus, I've also thought like Susan P, that moving your microwave next to your refrigerator on a shelf above the cabinet counter (at a safe height) so you could use that counter, as well, and would allow more counter space to left of your sink. I think the issue with the shelves is that they are too close together creating extra shadow in a dark area. To me open shelving there is better than a cabinet. Check the ingredients in that plant butter. It likely contains hydrogenated fats. Butter would be healthier. Manufacturers like to put the word plant in to make you think it's healthy.

I'm glad that you guys were able to get a new refrigerator. 😊 Sadly, the newer refrigerators can leak too. We have a newer GE profile fridge and it was leaking recently. They have a self defrost feature in the freezer and the drain gets clogged. Ice started to accumulate at the bottom and it would melt and leak on the floor. My husband took it apart and fixed it.
I would paint the shelf white and the brackets and just put one up and then put a pretty picture, mirror or window frame , or get a cabinet with glass doors.
I have the black whirlpool refrigerator like yours. Mine has a few years on her now though. I think we got it in 2014, never have had a issue. Love whirlpool products. So happy for your blessings! 💕

You have a basement lucky girl and a pantry I would not put up a cabinet you don’t need more storage. The shelf’s are empty at the store because there is a 2 week delay in delivery because of Delta virus , it was told on our local new. Have a Great Day.

She was 22 years old and it started leaking about 5 years before it went out. But my son did something and it stopped. He said the water line to the ice maker had gotten stopped up. It was a GE. My stove is 25 years old and she is a GE also. I have never had even a burner go out on her. So of course my last refrigerator was a GE. Yours is really nice. I wanted a white one but couldn’t get it. So I went with black because my stove and dishwasher are trimmed in black. But you will really appreciate your new refrigerator. Have you tried Gordo’s white Mexican cheese in the deli section? All you have to do is microwave it for a minute. I use it to a lot, especially good for bean dip. It is comparable to price of sliced cheese. Mexican food is my favorite! Love the new fridge. I bought a new stove and fridge about three years ago and I went from white to black. I love them. I have lots of natural light in my kitchen so it works great. I love changes to decor, furniture, etc…..as the budget allows of course. Since I am home bound most of the time with hubby’s Alzheimer’s, my home is my outlet to cope. God’s blessings girlfriend.

Congratulations on your new refrigerator. We got one a few years ago and I love it. The sugar free peach preserves are delicious, we love the apricot and they are here to find. My husband is a diabetic so we eat everything sugar free. Since our heat attacks we eat salt free things also. Really enjoyed this video.
We had the same issue with the fridge that was here when we bought our house. A white fridge, it worked fine for a few years, then started leaking in the same place as yours. We bought the one we have now and the freezer is on the bottom, which I regret cause we're both in our 60's and it's tough on the back especially Himself, but there you go! Enjoy!!!

I kind of think the cabinet would be too much on that wall, but I understand the need for storage. I think you have the right idea of white washing the shelves. Maybe paint the brackets white. Those cookie bats looked amazing.

I have been trouble finding the cat litter we use at WM. They are constantly out. So last week I ordered 8 of them and had them delivered. You could order anything that isn’t cold to be delivered and if the total is over $35 the shipping is free. I think I going to do that more often.
Hello! The whirlpool does come in black, we have the same identical fridge just in black. I’m not sure of metal shelf in fridge…I don’t put anything on there afraid it would fall on my foot when opening. Your taco & dessert bars looked delicious! Family gatherings are the best❤️
I love the salsa from Herdez (the brand of the bean dip) both green and red. It is very mild and very good. Those cookie bars look real good. For Easter this year I made a tostada bar. They are similar to tacos but the tortilla shells are flat.
Stores everywhere are definitely emptying. I am starting to feel a little creepy about it all. I agree with you about when your house is a mess how it makes you feel. We have been so busy doing some renovations that I feel like everything is discombobulated! eek!! I was thinking about your shelves, maybe white wash them and paint the black metal white, it would brighten them up a bit. As always it is so fun seeing what you are up to.
I highly recommend the Lure essentials cupping set on Amazon for when your husband has the back and hip flare ups. They are my life saving. He can do them himself or you can do them for him. You just put lotion on and stick them on like suction cups and let them sit for 15 minutes. It seems so simple and it won’t do much but I swear it is the only thing that gets me through to get those muscles to relax. I just found you from Southern Farm and Kitchen because he said she wanted your bean dip 😂

That freezer will fill up v quickly. I have fridge freezer 3 drawers in kitchen & 4 drawer old freezer in utility room great to fill / Christmas I find freezer so useful even there is only 2 of us😅. BEAUTIFUL FREEZER🥰🥰

Here in Florida we keep our bread in the fridge too! It will mold too fast if we don’t. 🥴 I think it’s the humidity even in the summer when we have the a/c on. Go figure! I would worry about getting the no sugar spaghetti sauce, it’s not that much sugar they put in the sauce. From what I understand a little but if sugar in the spaghetti sauce reduces the acidity.
I vote cabinet 😁....but the shelves are pretty too. I’m just super practical and would want the cabinet for storage. Whatever you do will look nice as it always does. I’ve never not liked anything you’ve done! 💗

My parents bought a whirlpool refrigerator in 1985. It’s a side by side with water and ice on front and it has a small condiment door too. It is still up and running, looks a little outdated but I am keeping it! I found the receipt, they paid $3600 in 1985!

Have you considered using the fridge as a spare in the garage or basement? Having a second one comes in very handy for leftovers, water, drinks, etc.
We thought about it but just didn’t feel like we needed it.

Congratulations on your new refrigerator. We got one a few years ago and I love it. The sugar free peach preserves are delicious, we love the apricot and they are here to find. My husband is a diabetic so we eat everything sugar free. Since our heat attacks we eat salt free things also. Really enjoyed this video.
We had the same issue with the fridge that was here when we bought our house. A white fridge, it worked fine for a few years, then started leaking in the same place as yours. We bought the one we have now and the freezer is on the bottom, which I regret cause we're both in our 60's and it's tough on the back especially Himself, but there you go! Enjoy!!!
Yes here in the UK they is food shortages shelves empty told it's due to lorry driver shortages and covid and limit on some items love the fridge I like the glass shelves easier to clean have a good day love your video

I kind of think the cabinet would be too much on that wall, but I understand the need for storage. I think you have the right idea of white washing the shelves. Maybe paint the brackets white. Those cookie bats looked amazing.

I have been trouble finding the cat litter we use at WM. They are constantly out. So last week I ordered 8 of them and had them delivered. You could order anything that isn’t cold to be delivered and if the total is over $35 the shipping is free. I think I going to do that more often.
Hello! The whirlpool does come in black, we have the same identical fridge just in black. I’m not sure of metal shelf in fridge…I don’t put anything on there afraid it would fall on my foot when opening. Your taco & dessert bars looked delicious! Family gatherings are the best❤️
I love the salsa from Herdez (the brand of the bean dip) both green and red. It is very mild and very good. Those cookie bars look real good. For Easter this year I made a tostada bar. They are similar to tacos but the tortilla shells are flat.

Stores everywhere are definitely emptying. I am starting to feel a little creepy about it all. I agree with you about when your house is a mess how it makes you feel. We have been so busy doing some renovations that I feel like everything is discombobulated! eek!! I was thinking about your shelves, maybe white wash them and paint the black metal white, it would brighten them up a bit. As always it is so fun seeing what you are up to.

I highly recommend the Lure essentials cupping set on Amazon for when your husband has the back and hip flare ups. They are my life saving. He can do them himself or you can do them for him. You just put lotion on and stick them on like suction cups and let them sit for 15 minutes. It seems so simple and it won’t do much but I swear it is the only thing that gets me through to get those muscles to relax. I just found you from Southern Farm and Kitchen because he said she wanted your bean dip 😂

I like the idea of another cabinet...I like shelves but I am always for the extra storage....I guess more practical.
That freezer will fill up v quickly. I have fridge freezer 3 drawers in kitchen & 4 drawer old freezer in utility room great to fill / Christmas I find freezer so useful even there is only 2 of us😅. BEAUTIFUL FREEZER🥰🥰

Here in Florida we keep our bread in the fridge too! It will mold too fast if we don’t. 🥴 I think it’s the humidity even in the summer when we have the a/c on. Go figure! I would worry about getting the no sugar spaghetti sauce, it’s not that much sugar they put in the sauce. From what I understand a little but if sugar in the spaghetti sauce reduces the acidity.
I vote cabinet 😁....but the shelves are pretty too. I’m just super practical and would want the cabinet for storage. Whatever you do will look nice as it always does. I’ve never not liked anything you’ve done! 💗

My parents bought a whirlpool refrigerator in 1985. It’s a side by side with water and ice on front and it has a small condiment door too.
It is still up and running, looks a little outdated but I am keeping it! I found the receipt, they paid $3600 in 1985!
