Love the videos, I was curious about how long have you been a psychiatrist? I was looking at going back to school to pursue this career. Thanks!

Thank you! I have been a psychiatrist since 1995. When I was a resident, another resident in my year was in their 40’s. Peter Goertz

My experience is similar. Way more issues with other staff than patients. I was motivated and I lost everything. It was outright abuse. ( im a nurse)

Is it difficult if a psychiatrist is at the top of the hierarchy, even though another psychiatrist might just be happy to be part of the team. I find this hard to figure out like I know the high quality buildings are important today nobody really likes the older institutions.

This may depend on who the psychiatrist at the top of the hierarchy is.

@@goertzpsychiatry9340 , Unfortunately, we still have older mental hospital installations in remote places across America and the EU. Many of these are partially closed down these days. I suppose it's fair to say that many psychiatrists, as well as patients, don't like these older, chunky buildings. That's why we now have community and general hospitals these days, Italy has none since 1978 i think. The forensic psychiatrist/psychologist i find very medical i find your videos down to earth / easy to understand.
