To me, it was inspiring to see Megan taking pleasure and pride in creating a successful holiday meal. I know her back and feet must have been killing her but she didn't complain, she persevered. Her kids will have lovely memories of watching her hands make homemade pies and lots of other yummy foods with love. Mike, it was sweet to hear you being the cheerleader and staying awake to help late into the night. It was special to see all the kids chipping together from making the decor, to setting the table, to baking. This was just a sweet video to watch and what I wish all families could enjoy for Thanksgiving.

What apples do you use for apple pie? In Ireland we use Bradley apples but I can’t find them in Texas. My son lives here. Mum and I are visiting from Ireland and he wants his nanny’s apple pie!

Everything looks amazing! One of our favorite dishes during the holidays is sour cream cranberry jello salad. Have you tried it? We usually make two because everyone loves it and wants to take some home.
Sour Cream Cranberry Jell-O Salad
Prep Time:

Ingredients
1 (16 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
2 (3 ounce) packages black cherry-flavored gelatin mix (such as Jell-O®)
1 ¾ cups boiling water
1 (16 ounce) carton sour cream
Directions
Mash jellied cranberry sauce in a 3-quart bowl. Stir gelatin mix thoroughly into cranberry sauce. Pour boiling water into mixture and stir until gelatin has dissolved completely, about 3 minutes.
Step 2
Chill in refrigerator until softly set, 2 to 3 hours. Gently fold sour cream into gelatin mixture, leaving marbled streaks of sour cream and gelatin mix. Return to refrigerator until firmly set, 4 hours to overnight. Store leftovers in refrigerator.
