    Drum brakes also weigh slightly less than disc brakes. When i was 16 with plenty of hard-earned money I considered buying one of the Talledega's.

    • @THExWASP
      @THExWASP 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      and you can set up drums to have no friction (no parasitic loss) with the shoes compared to disc's constant friction

    Love it all! Question, on the Trans Am (near the end of the video) is that rear axle just a tad too far forward? It looked like the rear wheels did not fill the wheel wells fore and aft evenly.

    • @bransonfleischman2233
      @bransonfleischman2233 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are too far forward, but it's actually done on purpose. That results in more weight over the rear axles to make the car launch better with really hard vintage tire compounds.

    Everytime I hear lead free solder, I think about the X-Box 360 Ring of death.. It was because lead free solder was used. The solder would breakdown over time and the CPU would come lose..

    • @tdrewman
      @tdrewman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lassi Kinnunen I knew of places that would remove all the CPU and GPU chips, resolder them with leaded solder and the problem never came back..

    the talladega that won = was running the 429 boss engine to beat the hemi`s ? is that right ? - big head`s shot gun motor !

    • @davidhartenstine190
      @davidhartenstine190 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might have been a 427-428, or the 429. They used the 27 in the beginning!

      @@bigboreracing356 only 1,359 boss 429 engines were produced by ford

      @@bigboreracing356 the hemi had already gone to the races since 1964. they were getting backing from chrysler. ford pulled out of drag racing about that time and after 1970 with the boss 429 they pulled out of racing altogether...on paper. it was the ford 427 cammer that was a direct threat to the chry hemi back in the mid 60s when ford pulled out of drag racing.

      @@bigboreracing356 besides, it took john kasse to redesign the ports on the boss heads to make them decent enough for n/a racing applications. the ports aren't near big enough for top fuel or funny car.

    you wanted to keep the old school vibe on altered ego, then why did you put a piece of crap coyote engine in it. should have put a fuel injected 390 in it.

    • @AutoYoung
      @AutoYoung 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      First of all, it's not a Coyote dumbass, the Coyote wasn't even available at the time this car was built. Secondly, it's a modern take on an old idea and was built to be a modern driver and not just a dedicated drag car...
