Mike, maybe putting a reflective tape around the outer edges of your camera may help in finding your camera. This goes for all of you GoPro users. It might help. Get some of the trailer red and white tape, cut strips and use them.

Spent three days with her, going to Dr's up there etc. She came home and got sick. Think she got it there, brought it home. Her mom's not sick but has other problems that needs care. Do you own a metal detector? If so, you can find your Go-Pro with that. There is enough metal to pick up on it. Instead of getting a GoPro get an AKASO (AKASO EK7000 4K WiFi Sports Action Camera Ultra HD Waterproof DV Camcorder 12MP 170 Degree Wide Angle), they are just as good and a whole lot less money. There's an opportunity for someone to invent some sort of Gopro housing that has built in GPS tracker with WIFI or Bluetooth connection. Or a "beeper" with some sort of remote activation. Some drones have these types of capabilities so it is possible. I've seen racing drone beepers that activate as soon as there is a certain amount of time of no motion (which would indicate the drone is down and not moving anymore.) Or a light strobe (also available for drones) that activated where there was no movement.
It seems to be a recurring problem for DP and crew. I wonder who holds the record. The Captain or Mike. Maybe a jar they gotta put a 50 in each time they loose it to go to a kiddie adventure or Wife's night out with the girls would help end loosing it.

Its 'custom and practice' if a member of our Royal Family or other 'persons of note' fall ill or suffer injury that an update of their condition is made know to the public either by TV announcement at around midday or in the case of a Royal a framed handwritten letter would be placed on the gates of Buckingham Palace London, we have often heard Mr DP referred to as ' The Mayor of Derby', so I couldn't let ...... I was about to say....' rest'.... but that's a little over the top... maybe 'moment' pass without enquiry about the condition of your husband. Perhaps a note pinned to your gates would please the local community..... LoL ..... Seriously, sounds as he was well attended and look forward to further adventures... Also in previous comments I have ask for more views of the fantastic area in which you live but didn't expect that the loss of a Go Pro would allow scenic footage of the entire family... For future reference rubbing alcohol and Cayenne pepper. Are best for deep wounds. The Cayenne pepper promotes clotting and in a natural antibiotic. Both will burn however these have been and are still being used in the field of battle. God bless
On TH-cam type three ways to find gopro they have a tracking device if you set up your phone with your camera check out video it might help find your camera . Camera beeps when you set signal with your phone tells you how on the video check it out
There’s a good chance it’s in pieces to small to find😳 as retired equipment operator, Mike needs to beware of resting his arm on the arm rest. I injured my funny bone nerve from resting it on the the rest and from all the jerking and bumping for years it damaged the nerve after an operation to repair its still the same. It feels like tingling all the time and I’ve lost strength in right hand due to muscle wasting 😪

As a guy who has a history of doing some wild things, we often under-estimate all the grief and agony we create for our spouses. My bride hates me when I start a phone conversation with "First of all, I'm OK....." Maybe Mr Dirt Perfect will realize the benefits of a trick I learned in Search and Rescue training: Always put a strip of orange or yellow tape/ribbon around anything that is normally black that you take into the woods. We put tape on flashlights, radios, cameras, tools, etc just for this vary purpose. Live and Learn.

Hope he finds the camera, the footage should be great if it was still recording during the search. I don’t know if they make them for GoPro but they make memory cards that upload their pictures whenever they connect to WiFi. If pared to the hotspot on his cellular you could possibly watch the video to see where it is. Might be useful in the future and make a nice Christmas present. The idea for these was to be used by travelers with cameras and all their pictures would be waiting at home for them and they don’t need to worry about lost or full memory cards. Not sure if they work with videos but it seems they should. Wishing you and your family the best.
