Nah. You expect the judge to kneel and beg him? Who is supposed to pay for his kids? Nigeria is not a welfare state, so why should he burden his wife with sole financial responsibility for the kids for over one year and ignore a court order.
His ignoring the Court Order is akin to his treating his wife like a doormat - and the court won't have that - is the reason he will be going to jail if he refuses to obey the Court that dissolved the marriage and ordered maintenance for the children. If he wanted to have a say in the monthly maintenance for the kids, he shouldn't have arrogantly ignored the Ìgandò Court 'invitations'. He must now obey those orders - pay up the arrears - and continue to pay until any application of his to vary the maintenance amount will be heard. Or go get his wings clipped in jail.
Judge in Ireland last month told a man to pay up or come to the next hearing with his bags packed. Guy is living in a 5-bedroom alone while his wife and kids had to move into a vermin-infested apartment and he was telling the judge he couldn't afford some €1500 a month that was assessed on his income - and maybe assets pending marriage dissolution. To beg a man to provide for his kids is ridiculous.

It is the duty of a man to care for his children. How can a man be earning 70k and still moves further to have 3 kids in this present Nigeria situation? Is that not inviting trouble to oneself.

This man told all kinds of lies, and the judge allowed it. He was absent from the divorce procedings on purpose!! This Judge is unfair to the woman. She did not say anything about paying what is owed since the judgement was made. Obviously he has decided not to pay the monthly N30,000 for upkeep of the kids. She doesn't have to educate him-he already knows!!!! Judge was unfair to the woman( an abused woman that ran for her life)!!!
