  • AGT L12 Mini Excavator oil change and drain tube install to make it easier to change next time. Change your oil ASAP! The crap that came in the machine was full of metal and definitely wasn't properly lubricating the engine. I've heard of guys seizing up the engine after 3 hours of use on the original oil.

From my understanding, the engines are shipped with break-in oil. So I think seeing some metal in the first oil change would actually be normal.

Buy yourself a "Form a funnel" for oil changes. You can make the form a funnel into any shape and it will do away with messy oil changes. Plus no modifications needed to the engine.

    You used the 1/4” hose.
    1412 is the 3/8” hose.
    Oil will drain faster.

When you change the hydraulic oil there is apparently a hydraulic filter INSIDE the hydraulic tank you get to by taking off an access cover on the side of the tank. AGT just put out a couple of vids of changing the hydraulic oil on an L12 showing this. I have not bought one yet but looking at the different models this size. At least this one has a hydraulic filter, even if hard to get to.

Thanks for sharing this.. Im guessing it is behind the approx 5" round metal plate on the side of the tank?

Wow all that metal. You will need to change the oil again after two or three more hours.

My L12 I got Oct2023, does not have that square cutout for the engine oil to drain through. Mega mess. I'm going to suck it out with my harbor freight oil extractor. Then install this HON1012 hose (Amazon has a better price, $20 5-13-2024). Nice Kubota sticker. Tonka I've seen too.

Wow I couldn't imagine not having the cut out under there. Thanks looks like kubota orange so I'll probably get another sticker on the other side at some point - easy way to double the value of your machine lol!

How long did you run the initial oil?

Did you not change the filter?

The engine uses an oil splash lubrication system with no oil filter and no oil pump.

You said the hose was 16mm in the video but the one in the link you have is a 12 mm? Can you confirm?
