Great video! One thing I’ve been confused about is the reputation flair. I can see my confirmed trades whenever I post, through the bot. The wiki talks about flairs that can show someone’s confirmed trades from a color depending on their confirmed trades. I can’t seem to figure out how to see that, been trying on phone and pc. Would you happen to know how to verify someone’s confirmed trades if you’re the seller?

Yeah! So if it's a shipped trade, you can just do the PayPal transaction both ways like a normal sale/purchase., so you also get protection if anything goes wrong.
Comment this on their post! You need to be able to contact them though PM, so let them know in a comment that their PMs are closed and request for them to either open them or PM you instead.
you can either offer free shipping or have the buyer pay shipping similar to ebay. Everything is done through paypal including adding the shipping label.
Usually people will have local pickup price and a shipped for price... Always buyer pays shipping... Though you can haggle for free shipping if it's not to much and buyer wants to sell item they'll usually agree...
Yes, you provide the email for your paypal (it’s the only way to link to your paypal) and then the seller will send you an invoice for the price you agreed on for the stuff you’re buying.
You PM the original poster, what you want to buy, any questions you have, etc. If you want to buy something that’s how you let them know and claim the item, or check if it is still available.
Sold for asking means that that item was sold at the asking price. So if I put up a listing like "Keyboard A: $XX", it means that I sold Keyboard A for $XX, my original asking price.

pm means personal message, please message the seller. Only use the direct message function and never use chat function, because it helps for buyer/seller safety. You can easily do this because mechbot always replies to any post on mechmarket, and in the mechbot comment there will be a link that says "click here to PM this user". Click that. People comment PM just to say that they've PM'd the seller, sometimes wanting to buy and sometimes with a question (that's why you might sometimes see "pm w/ q" to mean pm with a question in the comments). If they are selling a lot of things just tell them what item(s) you want. Even if they are only selling one thing you should tell them that you want to buy it if you want to buy it. You will know you got it if the seller decides to sell to you, it is not a raffle or bidding style sale for mechmarket personal posts.

There’s no actual rule on how to do this, so you can also just put bold text saying SOLD, but I find that strike through+sold is most effective. This was very well explained, however mechmarket seems to still require a lot of steps from the perspective of a casual seller. Know anywhere where I can just advertise an eBay link?
Thanks! Unfortunately posting links to outside listings (such as ebay) aren't allowed on mechmarket and also I don't know of any other place on reddit to post them. Mechmarket is the only place for keyboard related things on reddit, but in my opinion it's not too hard for a casual seller at all. All you really need is a timestamp and a description/pricing of what you want to sell. Let me know if you need any help posting, I'd be happy to help.
@@fireanddarkness whats still somewhat confusing for me is the actual selling and shipping process. For a relatively young person (18) shipping is kinda confusing. I've only had experience selling on EBay where I just print out a label, slap it on a box and set it outside my house for USPS to come pick it up the next day, and then the money appears in my account a week later. I just don't know how to make a shipping label of my own and stuff. I suppose though if I figure out how paypal goods and services works it will become clearer though.
It's totally simple, you just sell something on mechmarket and then after they pay, you slap a label on the package and set it outside for USPS to pick up! So when you use paypal goods and services, all you have to do is write an invoice. When your buyer pays the invoice, their address will be automatically added to that invoice. So all you have to do is go to that invoice and click the "add shipping label" button, and it'll bring you to the shipping page. You don't even have to enter any address and everything is automatically estimated for you. Then, you just pay for the label, slap it on the box, schedule pickup with USPS, and it'll be gone from your front door the next day :) It's daunting the first time when you don't know the easiest way to ship or try to deal with shipping in a different way but protip anything under 1lb just use USPS First class package, it's the cheapest, easiest, and works great. Saves a lot of headaches :)
