    Check out nick with navarre kayak fishing he makes the pdl aliment spacers will keep your drive from shifting to one side. Also make alot of upgrades for that yack

    Bought the Salty a month ago. Been using in Northern Ontario, great kayak. Had a Riot mako 12 prior, this is worth the extra coin.

    Great review. You should consider doing a video about what is in your tackle bag and what baits you use.

    I didn't come here wanting to buy a fishing Kayak but after how you just presented this, it's been added to the Christmas shopping list. Professional quality review right here! Very well thought out, excellent video presentation and quality audio. Great effort brother! I'll defiantly come back to watch more you seem genuine, experienced and entertaining.

    Sure I will check it out. Would it be difficult to secure to the roof of a car or would getting a small trailer be a better option?

    • @CaptChrisCanning
      @CaptChrisCanning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ummmmm honestly it depends. It’s pretty dang light and you can get it on the roof of a vehicle pretty easily. Regardless if you’re using it all the dang time I would hate to do so. That’s just personal option. I’d roof it until I no longer could and go get a trailer

    So after watching this video again and seeing the McElhiney comment. I didn't see any shifting going on when he was pedaling. Is this something that happens over time/use?

    Why did oldtown ditch the hull storage for the salty? I personally think it’s a minus.

    Great review! This might seem like a strange request. Who is the largest person you know? Can you do a video of them operating it? I'm curious if it could be use for exercise? Maybe you race them while you paddle a yack. (The loser has to backflip off it) The aerial view might be fun to watch:) good times! I will check out your next video, for sure!

    How shallow does it go pedaling with the drive down?

  • @Outdoorsman222

    Chris, is the salty PDL easy to paddle? Do you think it would be good for shallow rivers with rocks? It looks maneuverable and could buy a cover to go over the PDL drive well. Let me know what you think.

      Super simple to paddle. I’ll be honest! 😎

    Did you post the video of what you don't like about the Salty? If not, maybe you can give a quick answer here. I hear a lot of hull slap in the video. Is that one of the things? Thanks.

    How does it do offshore in choppy conditions?

    • @CaptChrisCanning
      @CaptChrisCanning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does a lot better in rolling waves than it does chop

    This video is only two years old. Not much if anything was changed on the kayak and now old town is charging $2450 plus. Under 2 grand it’s a good deal. At $2500 not so much.
