More Camilla & Zee reviews please, great chemistry!
A Surprising Fun Game! A buddy and I played through it 3 times and lost at various points... on the 4th run through we Succeeded! It was Very Fun!!! Knowing how the final spaces work helps with some decisions earlier along the path... i.e. certain cards are better to hold til the end if you can - things like that. But we had a Lot of Fun (again, surprisingly, for a roll and move with a twist) --- I would certainly concur about your Scores... This Game doesn't Look Like it should be this fun... But It Really is! Thanks for the Review!! Hope more people give this game a try! Well worth it (in my opinion!)
Thank you so much for delving into this game! Your explanations are so well thought out and presented. You make the game readily playable and easy to understand. I can’t thank you enough!
Camilla is so passionate every review! Love to see it
How about this vs the adventure book game?
Picked this up at Gen Con. Played it 3 times and I felt like it was just too easy before you get to the final leg, but then too hard once you get to the final leg. It is kind of a weird game in that it is a good game if you are playing with at least one person who really knows how the game works and then a few others who are just along for the ride, enthusiastically. I think it would be great for a parents and one or two kids. I am going to hold on to it to try it with my daughter when she gets a little older...but if i didn't have kids I would let it go.
Great review. What was that plastic plaque on Camillas shirt?
Hi Zee, have you played that designer’s “Der Pate”? It has similar dice mechanics pasted on Godfather theme.
This is an excellent game for playing with kids, to get them hooked to LOTR 👌
Cam recommends a coop and Z follows i buy instantly. 👍
I wanted to add a lotr theme game to my only coop collection.
Deciding between this, the LCG or adventures but one is too difficult for a family and the other too complex this one seems like a sweet spot to enjoy.
That way i have a coop for SW ( pandemic), a coop for marvel (united), a coop for HP ( hogwarts battle) and a coop for Lotr ( this one).
Wow this one looks really fun!
Interesting.
TY you two for this very clever review! Plus I "feel" all you say > Reacting the same as you for the qualities & defaults of a game in general! TY - GG - City of Tours - France
Thanks to How I Met Your Mother, every time Camilla said "Ring Bearer", I could only hear "ring bear"
Thought the same thing 😂
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't see the point of turn taking when any player can control any character. Race to the Raft gives each player their own hand of cards, and Horrified gives everyone their own character.
Why is the map all wrong? 😂
Right!
The worst part is that it would have been trivial and at no cost to game mechanics to at least make the path go from top left to bottom right.

@@bryanhemingwayi was thinking even just the fact that the eye of sauron doesnt have a wall around it. Rohan and Gondor are called Rohan and Gondor rather than their city names even though Helms Deep is called Helms Deep
Funny part in the instruction book they say im sorry the map is wrong
Does it explain why? @@TheErnieforss
Looks like an ok-ish game. The design is nice, clean and simple. And I like that you can collect allies to play when you need.
Camilla is great! JonRied01 nailed it, she is passionate and well spoken.
The problem with using LoTR as a theme for a game meant to be played as a family is that most teenagers (at least here in Finland) haven't seen the movies.
Finland is a failing country...
What the heck. I’m from Finland I thought everyone has seen them and most have read.
That was the case in my late teens, but then again that was 15-20 years ago.
That’s not a problem. There are hundreds of thousands of other games to pick from.
@@wilpuriarts5895 Most people don't read books unless forced to. Let alone have read one specific book.
Children were well aware of LotR even before the movies existed.
I really didnt like this one. Despite any mitigation you can lose in 20 mins. Within the first few turns we had 3 nazgul and a full orc track.
Then just play again? I don't understand
@JonReid01 we did and got further but it's not fun. Its a solo game where there is no point or reason to have multiple players
This game has been taking way too long to be released. Has been holding up one of my orders forever.
These mass market games are just getting better and better
Sorry Ron
Nope. Good review though
reminds me of an everquest cloth map
