Stumbled upon this video doing some research on Saguaro as a brand... And I thought that name sounds familiar. Think I used to watch your photography content...like... 10 years ago :D
I just got them, allready love them.... I will see how they hold up. I don't use them for running, I want to use them for dayly life. I am nomad and minimalist so I look for lightweight and good minimalistic shoes. Let's see what the future bring!
Do you have loss in shoes and how much ? I bought my Saguaro and I can put my middle finger when I have them on me. Do you think that I should have smaller ones or such loss is ok?
I have been using those saguaro for almost a year, on a daily basis, and running with them for about 1 month. The price/quality ratio is unbeatable. Before I had the Merrell vapor glove 4. I love them both for not having separated fingers 🤙

Fantastic video mate thanks a million. I'll probably give these a go. I could swear they make the Vibrams in different lasts - the EL-X in particular I wore two pairs with no issues whatsoever then bought the same again and they're slightly smaller so have rubbed my skin off in a few places. My original KSO's are a great fit but the same size more modern KSO Evo's cut the inside of my feet to ribbons... Even my first pair of classics about 15 years ago when they first came on the scene I had to cut the end of the left little toe off as it was rubbing - never had the problem since. They're just so inconsistent and for the price they should be absolutely spot on!
Sir, Saguaro is properly pronounced “suh-whar-row” (the “g” is silent). The word is the name of the largest cactus in the American southwest desert (the Sonoran Desert). It’s the cactus most often thought of…when “thinking” cactus….can grow to 60-65 feet tall, with one to three side arms. Great review, sir. I have two pair of a large name brand “zero drop”, and a pair of Oranginers (which I prefer). But I’m going to try a pair of these….so thank you, sir.
@@tylerabney3754 You’re quite welcome, Tyler. Actually, the ONLY reason I knew that, was that I spent a portion of my life in the southwest. You seem like a nice person, to make it a point to thank me. Be well….I certainly wish you well. These days, we could use more genuinely “nice people”, like you.
I also wanted to thank you for the correct pronunciation. I have four pair of the saguaro shoes now. They're great shoes and now I know the right way to say their name. Thanks and have a great day.😊
They're similar but not fake. Saguaro (the brand) has been around for a while and they're immensely popular in their own right. They make regular barefoot shoes as well. I own both Vibrams and Saguaro and each serves its own purpose. Vibrams if I'm outside and about, Saguaro if I'm at work.
Just ordered from Amazon and like others thought I'd check your review. TBH you nailed it and love your informative/ candid style. Quite excited to put them through their trails now.
I've been wearing the Whitin and Oranginer shoes almost daily for over a year. OUTSTANDING shoes (especially for the price) and I now have 6 pair. The first pair look pretty ratty, but they have been through briars and all sorts of rough brush. I bought some gum soled shoes for indoor work (the black soled Whitins marked flooring). I sized up my latest pair by one size to allow for winter socks with toe spreaders. I strongly recommend these shoes!
I actually found them about as durable as the vibrams I bought. I'm a ball-foot runner, so that's the area that tends to get worn down before anything else. So for about half the price of the vibrams I bought it was definitely worth it I found them more comfortable too, they offered a little more cushioning than the vibrams (which may be a bad think for barefoot pureists) but for me it struct the balance between protection and freedom perfectly. I bought a pair of ebay that were only £20 that have yet to come, I don't know whether it's the same but they look the same...only time will tell
I've worn a hole through a pair of Vibram five fingers in under 2 months just walking on tarmac/concrete, I've even got bicycle puncture repair patches over holes in the soles to try and get more out of them. Going to give these a go.
Just ordered these off Amazon, then thought I'd better check them out on YT. Thanks for a great review, very in - depth and informative. Glad I haven't wasted my money and I can't wait for them to arrive tomorrow 👍
Just bought these last week, and so far very impressive! Done city walking, as well as a couple of hikes up Arthurs Seat / Crow Hill, and also some gentle running on grass. No criticisms at all, they feel comfortable, and the trail sole is grippy enough whilst also giving 'good' feedback when I do step on a sharp rock. Amazed at the price, and even if I get another 6 months out of them it will feel like a bargain! Just got to throw away the insoles - I couldn't even walk around the house with those in there!

@@zmuzzy101 they held up great! I admit, I did move away from them in the end and went back to 'normal' shoes - however they did not wear down and was still comfortable at the end. Really good value. My only tip is to avoid the pairs with thin laces (I bought a second pair of shoes at the time, and the lace snapped).
@@euan1234 awesome thanks. I wear some cheap Aldi sandals a lot which are similar to barefoot shoes but as it gets a bit colder something like this seems ideal. For hiking or running I used trainers with a bit more cushioning.
Hi, I'm from Spain. I'm going to buy them. What do you recommend in the loos table? It says that I have to buy a 41 EU but you say in the video that you are 45 and a 44 would fit you well. Do you recommend I buy a size smaller. Un saludo
Hi there, thanks for that review I'm also considering getting those- Like you I'm 45 EUR size and was wondering if you finally exchanged them for 44? Not sure if I should order true to size or take it down one size.
I don't know about you, but I find running in the fingered toes quite uncomfortable. Especially when your feet start to sweat in them and then your toes can slide and rub. I bought finger socks, which helped the situation. But I'd rather just run barefoot
The only problem is durability - as a bilateral supinator I found that they wore out quickly into a hole on the outside of the heel - but for thirty sovs who is complaining!
@@dombower It appears the big toe is pushed in on this shoe similar to most shoes? It looks like there is even a slight curve to the big toe area? The big toe is the major push off area. If it isn't straight, you reduce function.
Does anyone know if these have arch support? Im looking for a budget barefoot trail running shoe and it seems they all have arch support which I dont want.
Amazon shoes are better than Vibrams...I have a pair of Whitin minimalist.. the feltish black hold up the best...Way more comfortable and practical than five fingers...I'll probably get a pair of Saguaros next...The traction looks better
maybe too late for a reply, but I thought they were good. I usually range between 10-11 (UK) for shoes, with my regular running shoes being 11. I bought the 10.5 for these shoes and they fit perfect

So in the case you'd wear these with socks on... would you buy your normal size (sneakers size) or do you go a size up? Half size up? I'm confused. I would use these with socks on. Also the sole, should you keep it in or take it out entirely?
I own a pair and they are brilliant, I run, walk, almost live in mine. I love em. The customer service is superb too
Hi, it's been a year since your comment. How have they held up? I'm considering buying a few (yeah a few) pairs.

Not yet…once my Orangineers wear out, I will (I suspect that the Orangineers AND the Saguarro are made by same manufacturer).

What is the arch like heard the brand Within has a good size arch in St. Louis my room is another thing. So no I wasn’t? But that’s what I heard.
Is saguaro has arch support like whithin?
Is the shoe has an arch support? Ot totally flat?

Did you use the size chart, or did you just order your usual size?
How do you size for the five fingers?
I've got a few cheap versions from the vibrams an tbh yes I like the non vibrams and the price

not very tight round the ankle so could easily fall off
Would these be good for gym classes like Body Combat?

absolutely fine for roads
