*FOR THOSE OF YOU WANTING TO CHANGE THE FUNCTION KEYS DEFAULT BEHAVIOUR* You need to download the Logitech options software. This will allow you to set the f-lock so that the F keys function as regular F keys, over media controls.
Typing experience: The keys sit slightly up from the main body of the keyboard, and give a quiet click with every stroke (but really quiet, not loud in the slightest). Once you get over the bump of the key (or actuation point you could say) there is a little more travel, but not to an extent you'd notice unless specifically pressing the key slowly to test it. The feel of the keys is close to the apple wired/wireless keyboard I would say (be it apple uses scissor keys). The roundness is somewhat different and feels unusual at first, but after about ten minutes feels fine and using it becomes second nature. Any other questions please let me know.
Thank you for sharing this info. I'm a mechanical kbd user but some times I want something quiet to type on. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again :)
I have this keyboard and I really like it. Sometimes I work at night, with the lights off to not wake up the rest of the house. The quietness of this keyboard is one of the reasons I bought. Because I don't have to wake up anyone with my typing. If it would be backlit, I would give it a ten out of ten, but instead I give it a 9 out of ten.
I got one a week ago and I'm really impressed with it. It looks sleek on my desk and takes up much less space. It also makes my desk look more modern. I bought it mainly because of its size and wireless factors. Being able to pair it with two additional devices is something that I welcome too. Last but not least, my typing speed has also increased thanks to the overall keys layout and circular shape of all of them. I am glad I chose this one over the K375s. PS I also wanted to say that your video review is top-notch!
Thanks! I purchased this keyboard this afternoon and JUST opened the box. I came here because I felt a bit dumb because I didn't know how to open the plastic tab over the batteries. Now I know that it wasn't just me being silly. It actually IS difficult to open. My nails were the trick!
Almost bought this, but see the page up/page down keys are tucked away on the numeric keypad (with a fn-key combination?). If you like the idea of multi-device, but also use PgUp/PgDn, you might consider the more classic/boring K375.
Normally it's numbers with the fn page up/down, etc. But if you toggle number lock, it turns it around so numbers are deactivated, then page up, etc is default without the fn press first.
I use this keyboard for programming and love it second to my Apple keyboard. The only thing that takes a bit to get used to is the arrow keys. But since I use vim it doesn’t matter
@@MarcinGil These buttons are on the number pad (num pad serves two functions). To enable them you need to toggle off num_lock. home = 7, end =1, page up = 9, page down = 3.

Really nice review Jordan, I remember hearing you recording part of the audio for this in the periscope stream! Lol "pardon the pun". You did a great job of showing how effortless it is to switch between three different devices at 5:08, the keyboard has a lot of extra functionality which is great. I'm always a fan of logitech products because of how customizable they are. Lol I like the pen holder feature ;) Awesome thumbnail by the way, keep up the great work, 65 more to 7,000!
Thanks man. That was a good stream, even if I did put stupid parts in haha. Yeah, Logitech is definitely one of the top players, consistently great products. I'm probably one of the few that still hand writing things. Thanks dude, not far to go now!

Jordan, this might sound crazy, but did you feel you (and/or your fingers) needed any time to adjust to the round keys? They look pretty cool because they're "different," but the last time I used round keys was on an old manual typewriter in the late 1950s. (Okay, I admit that I just looked at my fingertips. They ARE rounded, not square.) Excellent review, by the way.
I watched both this and your K380 videos. Very informative! Does the K380 have the same key feel and travel as the K780? Do they also have the same key size and spacing?

Would you recommend this as the main keyboard for a mac? One thing that worries me is would I get used to the circular keys, as I am quite accustomed to square keys.
Can I use the keyboard with more than one unifying receiver at a time (and use the function keys to switch between devices), or would I need to move the unifying receiver between devices?
Thank you for asking this question. I like my keyboards to have the light indicators. Looking for a small keyboard for my small hands but really want the light indicator 😁
Thanks for the clear instructions I want to use my Ipad for this keyboard. I tried many times but it doesn't connect with bluetooth. Everything is on but it just doesn’t work. Could this be a faulty?
Hi Jordan: This was a great video. I have just purchased this keyboard and my initial thoughts are very positive. I was wondering if there is a way to change how the Function Keys would react when depressed. I like to be able to control the screen brightness but there are no special Function Keys assigned for this purpose. I am using this on a Mac so I was wondering if you have any ideas? Regards, Keith
HI Jordan: Thanks for your response. I was able to find a share-ware program called Karabiner-Elements that has allowed me to re-map the required Function buttons. It works like a charm. Cheers, Keith
Great review. I just clicked on the link in the description, and noticed the K780 is currently on sale! I'm still trying to decide whether or not I should buy the K780. The two keyboards that have made the biggest impression on me have been the Logitech DiNovo Edge, and the Logitech K810. It breaks my heart that the K810 has been discontinued. I was shopping around for one today as I wanted to buy a couple of spares, but couldn't find a reputable retailer who's selling them. Heartbreaking.
Thank you! It may be that the K810 has been discontinues as there's a nerw model coming out soon. I can't confirm that though, even though I weok with them, I;ve not heard anything.
The function keys, which ones are primary? The F keys or Media keys and can they be configured? I primarily use the F for work and was thinking of this keyboard but this could be a deal breaker if I cannot change
If you have the other three onto a Bluetooth adapter, then yeah. This is only 2.4, or to each other device like a phone or tablet. There's only three options though, so two Bluetooth and one unifying. (unless you have another adapter)
I use the home and end keys quite a bit. I do see a key with the home icon. Does that work as the home key for text editing? What about the end key. My Logitech K520 has those keys. Thank you for the great review!
That button is for use with a smartphone, it just takes the phone to the home screen. For text, the usual home and end are on the number pad, accessible by using the FN key, when num lock is enabled, or just by perssing normal with not enebaled. Thanks for the feedback!.
Hope this isn't a stupid question but when combined with a mouse does the mouse also switch between devices when you press the “1,2 and 3” buttons or is it only the keyboard that switches and the mouse remains with the PC? I know using a mouse on a phone might be a bit pointless but on a big tablet it could be handy. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.
Hi thanks for the review! I have the K380 - I love it, but the keys and the spacing between them are a little too small for me, resulting in a more typos/errors. Hey Jordan, nice review! Two questions I hope you can answer: 1. Is there a way to switch the mouse also when pressing the device button. For example switching between 2 personal computers with both mouse and keyboard? 2. Can it work with 2 unifying receivers? For instance one in PC1 and the other in PC2?
Hey Ralph, thank you for the feedback! I don't believe so, it's per peripheral, unfortunately. And regarding two receivers, I *think* that would work, as long as you use two profiles. I can't test the theory though, I've not had this here for a long time, this review is three years old now.

Thanks for a great review. I was ready to take my keyboard back to the shop because I couldn't get the dongle to work at all, and bluetoothing into my Chrome PC was an absolute nightmare. Now that I have got the dongle to work (I hadn't spotted the on/off button on the side) I will persevere.
Does it not have a light to let me know I'm in uppercase? When I turn on my computer and I have to log in ...I sometimes have to do it a second time because the first time had it locked in uppercase. Same for passwords in other areas....
Jordan: Thanks so much for a very nice, comprehensive review of the K780. It took me a month of online researching and talking for several hours w/ all the support teams @ Apple, Best Buy & Logitech before I decided to invest in this model. My choice is kind of forward-looking, as I have traded in my MacBook Pro via the Apple GiveBack Program and will rollover that credit to invest in an Apple iPad Pro within the next 18 mos. or so. My home office will then be fully equipped with the full functionality as well as high portability of the K780, the iPad Pro, my current iPhone SE & the MX Anywhere 2S Bluetooth Mouse which I purchased w/ this keyboard today. Thanks again for your video post. Note: Wow! I thought I talked fast! I had to watch your video post 3 times to get everything to the letter. Ha! Ha! :-)
How fast would you say the switching is? Almost instant? ... not that critical but how would you say the lag is? (I’m thinking to also use it for a gaming system I have )
Thank you for the video, I want to buy this but one thing is very important for me, K480 keyboard's keys are very hard to press for my usage, my preferred keyboard in the past 5 years was K810 and now I have to change it. Can you explain or compared for me? I'm just concerned about the level of the pressure I need to press the keys, Thanks
but where are the Launchpad and other apple keys? Also how are you able to press F1-F3 if games like CSgo requires them, will it just automatically switch to another device?
I have a K380 which Logitech also claims has a 24 months battery life, and I've been using mine for almost 1.5 years now (pretty much all day, everyday, for everything including work) and haven't changed the batteries once yet. If the K780 is anything as good as that, I'm sold.
@@jordanash, yes, I goggled it and used the Free download, many windows of authorization then no program appeared, but what has appeared are many, many pop-ups on my computer throughout my day.... bother! Now I've got to clean my computer
Anybody know how the K380 compares to the K780 when it comes down to how the button being pressed feels? Tested K780 in store and it felt amazing but thought it was too expensive. Can only find the K380 in online stores and wondered if it feels the same as K780 or worse/better
This keyboard worked great for about 5 days. Now it will not connect to my mac. the little light on the #1 white key flashes. the mac sees the keyboard but keeps switching between connected/not connected and then disappears. logitech support is no help. They just assume you are more than 30 feet away (I'm about 12 inches) or have a garage door next to it (i'm not in the garage). Until it stopped working it was great! So disappointed.
I have a K380; the typing experience will be exactly the same on K780. K780 can't be your main driver, long and intense typing get uncomfortable very quickly.
I bought this keyboard on the basis of this and many other positive reviews however despite good features I found the typing experience to be poor, basically akin to a good laptop but nowhere near a traditional keyboard. The travel is short with a flat hard response also the angle of the is very low with no adjustment making for an uncomfortable experience for long typing sessions. The product itself is well made and switching between devices does work well, it's even a novelty for a while but given the price of the item the miss on typing is too big for me!
I purchased the K780 keyboard and the m590 mouse. I did so thinking that I could use them to switch back and forth between 2 PC's but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Do I insert a unifying receiver into each of the pc's? Any tips out there??... TIA.

Ah, I see! This would work well with multiple devices, that's for sure. I'm just not sure about switching apps on mobile devices.
Thanks Jordan. I am looking for a keyboard for my MacBook, after 'lending' my previous one to my lad. Long time fan of Logitech keyboards and this looks like a no brainer. Cheers!
Glad I could help!
In the amazon and Logitech description it states the battery is 24 months capacity, can you confirm this?
I can't I'm afraid. Being a reviewer I had to test something else after this review. I can't long term test everything, unfortunately.
Should I use it for gaming?
Nah, this is for office use primarily. Being wireless and not intended for gaming, its not fast and has slower latency that you want.
Just what I was looking for, thanks!
The best keyboard for mobile
Can you connect it through usb without any additional software installation?
Yes I believe so.
Great review. Will this work with an LG OLED and Nvidia Shield?
Thanks. Well, it's for PC, Mac and Bluetooth, so if the TV and shield support Bluetooth, then yeah.
Yep, both have bluetooth.
There you go then :)
Wow! Perfect review.
Thank you very much Jordan.
I also have a question
I have Wacom studio Studio Pro 13
width: 36.5 cm (14.3 inches)
height: 23 cm (9 inches)
total weight: 1.32 kg (2.9 lbs)
Can the keyboard stand hold my tablet? I have a good feeling about it
Thank you! To be honest, it might, but I wouldn't risk such an expensive tablet on it.
@@jordanash thank you so much for the honest quick response, do you recommends another Logitech stand/keyboard-stand that may do the work?
No problem. Does it need to be Logitech, or can I suggest anything? I'd just get a separate stand to go with it.
Thanks for watching, I hope you get it sorted!
Does it not have a light to let me know I'm in uppercase? When I turn on my computer and I have to log in ...I sometimes have to do it a second time because the first time had it locked in uppercase.
Same for passwords in other areas....
There isn't an indicator on this unfortunately.
Ha! Ha! :-)
Does it work to play on Roblox?? My little sisters got one
How fast would you say the switching is? Almost instant? ... not that critical but how would you say the lag is? (I’m thinking to also use it for a gaming system I have )
Almost, yeah. If you're using it for gaming too, it might not be quite as good as just using if for typing.
Do you know if there is a Window's button dedicated on the K780 keyboard??
I don't think it's *printed* but there is a key that acts as it. Where it's made for multiple devices, they don't print a certain key on it.
does it have a backlight for dark room
Beside the number pad and mobile stand what are the differences between this and the k380?
Build quality primarily.
The K780s keys are really easy to press. You should have no trouble at all with it.
but where are the Launchpad and other apple keys? Also how are you able to press F1-F3 if games like CSgo requires them, will it just automatically switch to another device?
It has all the relevant shortcuts. But if you're looking to game, this is the total opposite of what you should be looking at.
ooooh I see thx :)
this is not a gaming keyboard . this is clearly for productivity .
Will it pair with an android phone?
Yeah, that's what I'm using in the video.
Would I be able to remove the keyboard from the stand it’s placed on?
Unfortunately not.
thanks for the review, I was about to buy this until I realised the back does not lift up
it says 24 month battery life
I guarantee you'll never get 2 full years. It even says on the box "varies by usage"
I have a K380 which Logitech also claims has a 24 months battery life, and I've been using mine for almost 1.5 years now (pretty much all day, everyday, for everything including work) and haven't changed the batteries once yet. If the K780 is anything as good as that, I'm sold.
technologenius
I still can not get it to connect to my computer
I have this keyboard. Don't be fooled by the shallow key bed. You have to press hard to type, which sucks and the round keys decrease my accuracy.
Hi was wondering if the phone paired with the keyboard is locked, can it be unlocked using the keyboard?
Yeah, I think so. I'm sure I did that while I was testing it.
Yes, it can :)
Can you pair it to device vie bluetooth and another device #2 using the USB dongle?
I *think* so, but it might be worthwhile emailing them to check.
I love this keyboard, but, could you please explain the best way to capture a screenshot with this keyboard?
I'd download greenshot, then bind a key you don't use to it ☺
Ok, guess that will require some research to download "greenshot" onto my computer and "bind"?
Google Greenshot, download the program, then the key binding is in the software.
@@jordanash, yes, I goggled it and used the Free download, many windows of authorization then no program appeared, but what has appeared are many, many pop-ups on my computer throughout my day.... bother! Now I've got to clean my computer
It must have been a different website then, I've never had that issue before. Hope you can get it sorted. This is the one you want - greenshot.org
Anybody know how the K380 compares to the K780 when it comes down to how the button being pressed feels? Tested K780 in store and it felt amazing but thought it was too expensive. Can only find the K380 in online stores and wondered if it feels the same as K780 or worse/better
The K380 is similar in feel, just a bit cheaper.
That's a shame, how odd.
Does it work with smart TVs also?
Pass, I doubt it. It doesn't state that, so it's unlikely.
is this a cheaper version of Logitech Craft?.. can't tell if the keys are rounded like Craft
There's about two and a half year gap between the production of that, to this mate.
I have a K380; the typing experience will be exactly the same on K780. K780 can't be your main driver, long and intense typing get uncomfortable very quickly.
The K780 keys are spaced further apart that the K380. It's much more comfortable for longer use, plus the keys feel better on this.
Hi. Is it really quiet when typing?
Yeah, you can type very quietly on this
Will it work with a LG smart Tv with webOs2 ?
Can we use this keyboard with two computers?
You might be able to if you get another receiver, but I'm not saying "Yes, it'll work". I'd email logitech first to confirm.
@@jordanash Thank You.
This was a good video, Thank you. However, how can I cancel typing on my phone and carry on typing on my pc screen?
Swap devices using the 1-3 numbers
@@jordanash Thank you.
No problem
How do you screenshot since there isn't a Windows key or Printscreen key?
I'd recommend downloading greenshot and setting a key with that.
I am trying to connect this to my laptop but can't get it connected. Is there something I need to do to use with my laptop?
Do you have the drivers downloaded?
Right now typing on it, on my Win 10 PC. Good keyboard.
I'm very happy with mine but when I download unifying software I get no device detected. I have both Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse.
can I pair it to a macbook and a desktop pc? would be nice if the mouse would switch as well
Yep. A mouse like the MX master can do more than one device.
compatible with Microsoft surface pro 2 & samsung galaxy note 4????
I don't see why it shouldn't work.
Hey, cool video man! Would appreciate if you can spare a bit more time on the actual keyboard typing part. Thanks!
Thanks! I've added a pinned comment elaborating.
Are the keys quiet ?
Yes, pretty quiet
I purchased the K780 keyboard and the m590 mouse. I did so thinking that I could use them to switch back and forth between 2 PC's but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Do I insert a unifying receiver into each of the pc's? Any tips out there??... TIA.
For two PC's, you'd need a unifying receiver in each, yes.
I am blind and cannot see the video visually. Does the keyboard have macro keys that can be programmed for different functions?
Not on this model, unfortunately.
Are the f1 thru f3 keys still usable if you don’t pair anything else
Yes.
