great reaction guys. haley reinhart is one the greatest, most unique vocalist of our time. postmodern jukebox (or pmj) takes current popular songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. they have a variety of good vocals but haley especially with postmodern jukebox is incredible. all the other haley/pmj ones are great also: "all about the bass", "habits", "black hole sun", "mad world", "seven nations army", "oops i did it again", "lovefool" and the very recent "don't speak".
i think what is so phenomenal about haley is not just her amazing silk to sandpaper voice but also her character and soul that she puts into the performances. even when she uses very little of her unique vocal acrobatics, her pure raw soft voice is amazing like in the intro of "creep". you see this even more in her solo double platinum cover of "can't help falling in love" for the extra gum commercial which is truly stunning and frequently described as what love sounds like here: (th-cam.com/video/_uNpEbt7w_o/w-d-xo.html )

Absolutely one of the best vocalists of this era. Haley has one of the largest vocal toolkits in musicdom. You could teach a master class off this video alone. Great reaction. her ability to emote through her stage presence is amazing. She has performed at least a half dozen with PMJ. Love Fool, Black Hole Sun, Don't Speak, Seven Nation Army, Her originals "I Don't Know How To Love You" is a great 60's style bluesy rock vibe, "Lay it Down" is just pure Heaven in her upper register.

OK! NOW YOU TWO DID IT!! You opened a deep bunny burrow here. PMJ with their retro vibe has toured with some of the best vocalists out there. Haley does 5-6 with them, Morgan James does 5-6, Casey Abrams adds more to the mix, and there is still more. My favorite Haley video is her and her dad unplugged at Chess Records. A two song set. In my opinion the best cover of Can't Find My way home and Haley's own song Don't Know How To Love You. The 62 inch firecracker shows all the vocals skills known to man in these two songs. Great show, keep on, and thank you.🤠

Someone posted a comment on another reaction to this in which they pointed out that she uses 23 of the 9 known vocal techniques. She is an amazing vocalist and in my humble opinion she is as good as anyone ever and better than most. The story is that her dad (an amazing guitarist, btw) used to scat to her before she could talk and she has been scatting ever since. Seven Nation Army with her and PMJ is great as is Don't Speak and so many more. PMJ is a collective of jazz musicians that Scott Bradlee (pianist and arranger) engages with and the only one that's in all their videos is him. A deep, deep rabbit hole.

This performance . . . somewhere . . . maybe a blend of a dark and rich whiskey over vanilla ice cream with a smooth cigar afterwords. No one has hit THIS tune so hard since this performance.

Great reaction Sam and Phil! Thank you very much. Haley has several collaborations with PMJ and each are very good. Other comments list them. All About That Bass is a performance that showcases Haley's talents. It also features Morgan James who is another amazing singer. Over the past year or so, i saw both Haley and Morgan in concert. They each sound just as good live.

Haley is amazing. She is very versatile styles like jazz, rock and pop. As a rock guy, I like her rock songs best but it’s all good. More Haley with PMJ songs I’d recommend are Black Hole Sun, Seven Nation Army, All About that Bass, Mad World and anything really with her and PMJ. On her own, she does a great cover of Can’t Find My Way Home with her dad on guitar. Other great rock songs include Wild Horses (with Slash and Myles Kennedy), Dear Prudence (with Morgan James), and a great version of Can’t Help Falling in Love from the Extra gum commercial. There are several versions, one with just her accompanied by the piano and another with the full ad which is very well done.

PMJ was started by the piano player Scott Bradlee. His idea was to cover modern music in a jazzy style. Other PMJ songs I'd recommend are: All About That Bass, Seven Nation Army and Dream On. Great reaction.

Radiohead - Creep is one of my favourite songs of all time and no cover should ever come close to matching it and yet i go back and forth to which one i prefer. This is one of the greatest covers of all time and i absolutely love it!
I don’t even remember what the original sound like. This is the only version I listen to. It is spectacular.
The Girl goes to "CHURCH" with that run starting at 5:06 my Lord. For all the sings out there that is one breath. WOW!
I timed it around 13 seconds, eye opening amazing knowing she's tiny, like 5'2" which to me makes it so amazing. She finished 3rd on American Idol in 2011. I think this video was done in one take in 2016.

The song rotated around Haley who is fabulous and has a bluesy/jazzy voice with all the trimmings. She comes from a musical family that's pretty famous as well. Thanks very much for reacting. A little note about PMJ: yes, they have a Smells Like Teen Spirit cover. You actually have hit two separate rabbit holes, Haley (who is a goddess!) and PMJ. Their arrangements are extraordinary and they have wonderful guest singers.
With PMJ, the vocalist is always the showcase. Scott Bradley (composition writer/pianist) does a fantastic job of writing great covers that are designed to be a backdrop for amazing singers. For another fantastic example may I recommend the Wayne Brady cover of Michael Jackson's thriller

It was a stand up bass, not a cello. Another Post Modern Jukebox cover I would suggest you listen to is them doing Aerosmith's Dream On, featuring Morgan James.
PMJ has done two recorded covers of Creep with different vocalists. There is now a third vocalist doing this rendition on tour but as of yet has not done a recording.
The first one was sung by Karen Marie. She even gets credits for coa-ranging it with Scott Bradlee.
Only 2 songs were recorded twice by PMJ, Creep and All About The Bass. The second recording of both videos was done in the same studio and same day. And Haley did both.
PMJ had many singers doing Creep on tour, but none came close to rival Haley’s performance.
Haley and PMJ on Don't Speak (No Doubt cover), Seven Nation Army (White Stripes cover), Mad World cover (with Puddles Pity Party), and the fabulous cover of All About That Bass, with Morgan James and Ariana Savalas, and Casey Abrams on stand up bass. And yes, others have mentioned it, but Morgan James and PMJ doing "Dream On" will give you shivers.

I haven't listened to this in awhile actually, but it's easily one of the best vocal performances on TH-cam, past, present or future for that matter. Haley is next level, and for anyone who doubts her vocal chops, look no further than this excellent cover.

How awesome is Haley....? Keep in mind that this was done in one take and Haley was not feeling well which was heard in a couple parts where her voice cracked but even the crack in her voice sounded amazing. She is an absolute stunning singer that can adjust her voice to different styles with PMJB flawlesslly. Her movements also flow with this rendition of the song. I love the little Betty Boop moments.

First of all, PMJ is awesome. Having said that, Haley Reinhart is like having Ethal Mermans voice in Jessica Rabit's body.
EVERYBODY is gonna be tellin' you about Haley and deservedly so but, I'm gonna recommend some other of PMJ's artists. Morgan James . . . Joey Cook . . . Aubrey Logan . . . Casey Abrams . . . Arianna Savalas . . . They have over 400 cover videos and every one is worth a listen. One of my favorites is Addie Hamilton's cover of Blondie's "Heart of Glass".
Scott Bradlee on piano has to be one of the most connected people in music. He manages to put together various collections of excellent musicians and vocalists to explore his visions of modern songs in a retro style. The incarnation that you saw here also included two other vocalists, Morgan James and Arianna Savalas along with Casey Abrams who also does some of the double bass playing. It has more than 116 million views so I guess you could say it's pretty popular. Just as Bobby Hatfield's version of "Unchained Melody" seems to set that standard, so PMJ and Haley Reinhart have nailed "Creep". Other opinions may vary of course.
