I think many of us fell into a trap of thinking that beating Burnley reserves might spark some kind of turning point, but we're at square one again. Even the press conferences of "we're against the odds" are incredibly negative, and it is translating onto the pitch.

O’Neill has to go
They got Unai Emery in the weeks before we got JLo - having waited and waited on him to make his mind up. Emery has been a brilliant solid appointment whereas JLo just saw Wolves as a stepping stone. Up until then the two clubs had been more or less on a par (we were slightly ahead in fact) but that's where our fortunes began to diverge dramatically. GON was then brought in only as a last minute stopgap. Instead of relying on him to us to the next level, we should already have been looking for a higher-level appointment. Moreover, the signs have been blinking red ever since the Coventry debacle when we collapsed against Championship opposition. I have never understood why GON got a nearly free pass after that disastrous performance. The way in which we threw it away already showed us that we were developing a losing mentality. A mentality that quickly set in. GON now has to go asap. If we don't sack him on Monday then we'll sack him after the Liverpool defeat instead.
The best manager in decades was forced out of the club, you reap what you sow.

Wolves were superb in the first half and should have been 2-0 ahead going into the break.. Unfortunately for them, wolves didn't show up at all in the second half and Villa completely bossed the game after that. As a Forest fan and FFTV watcher, I thought after your window that the Wolves would be this years breakthrough team. So I too am disappointed with the state of things on the field for you. Great first half but second half fitness told in the end and we were blown away by a rampant villa. The only saving grace is we have played 4 teams out the five who are all competing for champions league places. So fingers crossed we can get results against the teams who are going to be in our mini league at the bottom. Andre looked a class operator looks to good to be with a team who are in a relegation battle
Villa fan here, you were actually excellent first half… stunned VP… however, we did know that once we got 1 we would get more. Squad depth is different too, hope you guys well as West Mids football needs rivalry in the top league.

We are doomed if the players don't play for 90 minutes, to be honest, I think there is something going on behind the scenes, I don't think O'Neil will be at molineux much longer because we are just not capable of winning a match in 45 minutes and we need to show our metal.

You lot have nothing to worry about relegation wise. You’ve just had hard fixtures and have a couple more really hard ones coming up, but after that, you are looking at 8 very winnable games coming up, see where you are after that.

Hi Guys , your assessment and comments were very fair and accurate, re Gary Shaw, your respect shown was only what I expected, go and beat the bin dippers, they are a good side but can be beaten-obviously from a life long Villa Fan.
Great first half, Unai Emery changed it halftime, substitutions, and probably a tactical switch to get them going, GON does not react to changes by opposing managers, by the time he has realised this we are losing the match, i know some fans will say too early to sack GON, but really is it, Liverpool next then Brentford before international break, first game after international break Man City, unless things suddenly start clicking and we improve for the full 90 minutes, Fosun can’t let it go for too long, and we find ourselves 10 - 15 points a drift at the bottom, we won’t get another Lopetegui to save us, personally i don’t want to see GON gone yet, but something needs to change and change very fast

This team is in deep trouble, no two ways about it, what is going on with the club at the moment, we have all been crying out for a CB as well, and it looks like its come back to bite us on the backside.

I used to hate it when we go a goal down first, now I hate it when we go a goal up first because we go defensive and can't hold on.
What can we say a game of two halves when we started well and get a goal and then the second half complete capitulation of the side is this a management problem or coaching this is a game we should have done better and we have lost to a team that only got going in the last 15 minutes of the game we lost complete concentration we are in the need of a serious rethink somewhere in the team this is a cause of concern and where is the leadership couldn’t see any today and things will have change now and we will be in serious trouble and I am in angry mood and you won’t get me in this situation much but there has to be change soon.

A lot has been said about the fitness levels. It was one of the first things being commented on when Lopetegui came. The fitness levels were so much better. Now, we seem to gone backwards again.

Poor management today in the second half. For all the talent we have in the sqaud we seem weaker in deffense in the second half of games its evident. Can't sit on a one nil win in the second half. In the first half we should of really gone for the second goal and should of got it how much we were on top. The reason for the sea-change during the game was Ross Barkley coming on. After that Villa controlled the midfield and we were able to get at your defence, which just folded. I sincerely hope that your results do pick up though - I'd much rather see proper teams with real history like Wolves and Everton in the top flight than crappy little Southern clubs like Brentford, Palace, Fulham, Bournemouth and Southampton. First half very good but those extra mins before half time we was passing the ball about near there box silly passing why didn't we push for a 2nd goal. No surprises whatsoever. The issue is not fitness, but defensive frailties and recruitment as Dave said. Criminal that Kilman was sold with Dawson still not fit and no replacement in sight. My guess is the players feel that, and if G O'N had freedom of speech, he woukd say the same.
The last 5 minutes of the first half were an absolute disgrace they should have been pressing hard but gave up. They have to play for every second of every game and they just can't, the fitness of this team has to be looked at because they looked tired in the first half! Not quite panicking yet but it's getting close now, questions have to be asked and asked now. We do look like the underdogs by the way we play and that needs to be fixed.
