Even though Lao Li likes to joke around with Feili and the kids (the king of children lol), he is very humble and wants Feili to not feel so burdened when she calls him her benefactor. He and Xiao just wants to be treated like family when they visit and doesn’t want to put pressure on the family. They even helped with the oil press and the outside shower the last time they visited, now they want to help open a store for them. It’s not about race or class with them. They truly care for each other even when they tease each other gently. It does have a rather natural flow. We really see so much of daily life in rural China as well as their daily life wherever they may be. We are able to enjoy so many experiences vicariously.

This brother is Issa. Last year Felista said he was keen to learn Chinese. Fei er takes to him because he can speak Chinese. Last year, Lao Li gave him a phone so he could use an app to learn Chinese (Mandarin) and video the oil seed crushing operation. Issa excels academically. During this trip, Felista gave him a Hua Wei lap top to help him in his academic endeavours.
Just a suggestion. Before you rent a shop for business. Try testing the product in the market before total investment. Make the tofu and whatever variety, let the public try them. If they like them, it will be at a higher rate of success. Do market testing 😊. How about Baozi (steam meat bun) or meat dumplings? I think they will sell well because they are quite universal 😊😅😅 Regarding oil press business. Open a new one, maybe about 50 km or so away so that you're not competing with one another. Make sure the new oil press surrounding areas have sunflower farms . Just my thoughts. Best of luck.

Indeed, market survey is very important especially for a perishable good such as Tofu. It's important to guage/determine how well people will accept it. As for the oil press, amongst other factors, the character of the person running it(Manager/ Supervisor) is important. The one in Felista's place is doing well because Felists's mum is keeping an eye on it .

I used to retail sunglasses by the beach. Many of the styles sold very well were different from another location because of the age in that region. A question, by the way, how is the oil press business they set up in China? Doing better than the parents here? I did suggest to Lao Li to open another one nearby(50+km away) last year, but they opened in China instead. Hope they are all doing well. Just thinking. 🙂
I guess they want to sell the tofu to Chinese supermarkets! It sells quite expensive in Africa and you know there are many Chinese there. If they have the method to convince the owner of Chinese supermarket to buy tofu in their shop. It will go well. Tofu is important to the Chinese 😂

I cannot tell you how watching these videos have changed my life and perception of people from different cultures. Here in America we are so hypocritical and full of contradictions simply because we do not know or choose to learn and know about other cultures. I am so thankful for being educated this way. This family, this young lady, her husband and his brother and their family in China have made me truly appreciate what it means to be family and to just have genuine love for everyone you meet! Yes very nice how you explained it. We live in USA my hubby and me from different countries, my kid's were born and growin in Europe, I studied History my husband Anthropology. So our kid's compsring from kids here i in USA, they know a lot lot comparing. We taught them about world history, capital city a lot about things. So always they complaine when they come from school, they said, we don't learn about other countries, only the stat we live in we studied. Why they said? So we explain to them that they are the lucky once knowing more. So yes in USA, kid's or grown ups need to learn about different culture and history😂. It is all good to know right?

Felli, please tell Lao Li and the others that instead of renting shops, they should buy a piece of land, build some beautiful shops and use for what ever business they want to do. They can set a standard in the village. They can use one shop for the oil press, one for saloon, one for the tofu shop etc. Recruit accountants and managers to oversee their businesses and give them feedback. It must be well structured so that they can monitor everything themselves. All the money should go into one central account. You guys are lucky to have them in your family. Congrats, Felli. It takes just one child sometimes to change the story of their family and a whole generation. Buying land in rural Africa is not so easy. It has to go before the village council or head man. Most of the land in these places is communal like in China. In the large cities it is different. Felis family would have to acquire the land if any is available.

Wow, this is the first time learning that Lao Li lent money to Feli to send her dad to hospital. This must be when Feli wasn’t making money from her videos yet. And the fact that this wasn’t even on video shows how genuine he is towards Feli. Really touch by Lao Li’s kindness. Also need to mention, the oil business was Xiao Zheng’s idea. He convinced Lao Li for buying the machine. He didn’t even tell his wife that he spent that much money for the machine. I cannot tell you how watching these videos have changed my life and perception of people from different cultures. Here in America we are so hypocritical and full of contradictions simply because we do not know or choose to learn and know about other cultures. I am so thankful for being educated this way. This family, this young lady, her husband and his brother and their family in China have made me truly appreciate what it means to be family and to just have genuine love for everyone you meet! It would be my honor to one day meet these people, I am certain they don't even know how they are changing lives of those who watch their videos. Thank you so much! I wish I were able to speak Mandarin I would communicate with the Chinese people here in the US who probably may not have been introduced to this family. Yes very nice how you explained it. We live in USA my hubby and me from different countries, my kid's were born and growin in Europe, I studied History my husband Anthropology. So our kid's compsring from kids here i in USA, they know a lot lot comparing. We taught them about world history, capital city a lot about things. So always they complaine when they come from school, they said, we don't learn about other countries, only the stat we live in we studied. Why they said? So we explain to them that they are the lucky once knowing more. So yes in USA, kid's or grown ups need to learn about different culture and history😂. It is all good to know right?

Felli, please tell Lao Li and the others that instead of renting shops, they should buy a piece of land, build some beautiful shops and use for what ever business they want to do. They can set a standard in the village. They can use one shop for the oil press, one for saloon, one for the tofu shop etc. Recruit accountants and managers to oversee their businesses and give them feedback. It must be well structured so that they can monitor everything themselves. All the money should go into one central account.
You guys are lucky to have them in your family. Congrats, Felli. It takes just one child sometimes to change the story of their family and a whole generation. You are a very gentle, humble, hard-working girl and you deserve all the blessings that you get in this life.
Buying land in rural Africa is not so easy. It has to go before the village council or head man. Most of the land in these places is communal like in China. In the large cities it is different. Felis family would have to acquire the land if any is available.

Also need to mention, the oil business was Xiao Zheng’s idea. He convinced Lao Li for buying the machine. He didn’t even tell his wife that he spent that much money for the machine. His vision in business, combined with generosity, really a blessing to Felista’s family.
In this video, Zeng and Lao Li were told that the oil press machine worked well over the past year. No breakdowns or technical issues. So it proves that Zeng and Lao Li did a good job in selecting this particular Chinese brand after visiting many suppliers

I enjoy watching the clips and the connections between these families. Because the reality is harsh. There are a lot of foreign investors in Africa and the reality is making money without development. Feli and Friends give back to the country invest in the people and the community. They are great ambassadors for China Republic. They encourage the people to start businesses and be independent. Micro economy is the best for African village system
