For me, Toby was the best Peter, even though they muted his scientific genius, and Andrew was the best Spider-Man, wisecracking while fighting the bad guys. Tobey Maguire spent six months taking martial arts, weight training, and an intensive gymnastics programme in order to bulk up, look buff, and be able to match the lithe athleticism of Spider Man. That scene in the cafeteria where he catches all the food on the tray was done practically, took over 150 takes and some adhesive but they did it.
Tobey Maguire's Spiderman is the best along with Dafoe's Green goblin, this has to be the best origin story ever as it portrayed the changes Peter went through in the most accurate and realistic wat
Nicholas Hammond played Spider-Man & Peter Parker in a TV series back in 1977 (til 1979)...That was the first Spider-Man as a live action hero. Tobey Maguire did a fantastic job as the first big screen depiction of Spider-Man. It was very true to the comic book.

Seeing all the previous Spider-Man movies will be really helpful for once you watch No Way Home. There's a lot in the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield movies that will prove to be extremely relevant and add much more meaning to your No Way Home viewing experience.
Technically you don't have to watch any of the Spider-Man movies before watching No Way Home. However it is a much more fulfilling experience if you do. Plus it's always nice having more content on the channel.
Agreed. Normally I'm allergic to the "ya gotta watch eight other things" crowd. In this case seeing the older movies first adds a lot of depth to No Way Home.
I remember finding a pirated copy of this movie at a car boot sale when I was like 5/6 years old. My parents bought it and we all went back that day and watched it. Can't wait for you to watch Spiderman 2.... It's one of the best superhero movies ever made and my personal favourite superhero movie of all time.

And despite its age, this movie still holds up very well.

YES!!! The Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy and the two Andrew Garfield "Amazing Spider-Man" movies are a definite must watch before watching Tom Holland's 3rd Spider-Man "Spider-Man: No Way Home". This is my favorite of the Tobey Maguire trilogy.

It was the Spider Bite that gave Peter his powers. But it was Uncle Ben’s death that Spider Man, the hero Spider Man, was born. No matter what it costs him, Peter always makes the choice to help others. And that is why the character has endured for all these years. And the director actually got his start in film by making a string of popular Horror movies called “The Evil Dead”. So you weren’t too far off when you said you felt you were watching a horror movie. And that upside down kiss won the MTV Movie Award for best kiss!

I agree that Tom Holland is the best Spider Man, but we need to break shit down. For a long time super hero movies were treated as silly, with some exceptions like superman and Batman. It wasn't untill Blade, X-Men, and this Spiderman movie that other Superhero stories were treated with the same respect, and because of those three movies we got the superhero movie renaissance.

My only bite was given by a jumping spider that I accidentally pinched as I closed my hand around her when I was about 9 years old. I have read that a black widow will bite anything that disturbs her web when she is protecting egg sacks, but that is less aggression than exhibited by Toby's spider.

That one was stocky in the body, covered in gray hair, short in legs, and at casual rest, would fit neatly onto the nail of my pinkie-finger -- but that thing was in berserk mode. It would not stop pouncing at me, no matter how many times I blew it away or flicked it off. EDIT: That one didn' bite me, but I did get may bites in Oregon, while I was sleepign in a friend's basement. I'd wake up with my shins covered in weeping welts.

Each spiderman offers something unique. This one was the first great spiderman. Then Andrew Garfield was the "cool spiderman" with great hair. Then Tom Holland is back to the more nerdy but awesome.
I read "Spiderman" comics for years growing up in the 60s and loved them. To me, no movie has ever measured up, but this one isn't too bad. By the way, webbing wasn't an inherent power. It was something he invented. Also, Mary Jane Watson was hardly his first girlfriend. That would be Gwen Stacy.
The Andrew Garfield & Tom Holland Spider-Men (Spider-Mans?) had mechanical web shooters. This movie didn't really show Peter's scientific genius. I'm guessing they wanted to avoid questions of how he built the shooters, and where the web formula comes from. Don't worry; Gwen shows up in later movies. :)
This Spider-Man was a mix of your childhood and mine. I was born in 95 so when I was a kid I mostly knew the 90s cartoon Spider-Man and then when I got older I started reading the comics. This to me was probably the best version.They did their best trying to stay true to the comics and the cartoon

I think he got injured during filming. But still, great to see that the Macho Man had a part in the first ever Spider-Man movie.

No way home was so desperate feeling. Taking Ramis villains and putting them in the mcu just felt wrong. That movie is so mid.

People will say Andrew made e best Spider-Man because of how much he jokes but I like Tobey’s more serious Spider-Man it goes well with his suit having more angry looking eyes on his mask. Also Tobey has the best Spider-Man suit. Fight me

Definitely a classic film. You should check out the other two Tobey films if you have not. When it comes to the 3 Spider Men, I honestly don't have a favorite Spider-Man actor. They're all good. But yeah, nice reaction! 👍

@@jean-paulaudette9246 I can't speak for all, but I have held hundreds or thousands. My only bite was given by a jumping spider that I accidentally pinched as I closed my hand around her when I was about 9 years old. I have read that a black widow will bite anything that disturbs her web when she is protecting egg sacks, but that is less aggression than exhibited by Toby's spider.
@@jeffthompson9622 I couldn't speak for all or most, of course...but i have a very disttinct memory of one, when i was sitting on a sidewalk waiting for a bus in Portland, OR. That one was stocky in the body, covered in gray hair, short in legs, and at casual rest, would fit neatly onto the nail of my pinkie-finger -- but that thing was in berserk mode. It would not stop pouncing at me, no matter how many times I blew it away or flicked it off.
EDIT: That one didn' bite me, but I did get may bites in Oregon, while I was sleepign in a friend's basement. I'd wake up with my shins covered in weeping welts.
@@jean-paulaudette9246 Why do you believe they were inflicted by spiders, rather than by bed bugs or fleas? Spiders are predators that help us by eating small animals, usually arthropods. The welts sound more like the product of a parasitic insect. Was there a dog or a cat in that home?
Each spiderman offers something unique. This one was the first great spiderman. Then Andrew Garfield was the "cool spiderman" with great hair. Then Tom Holland is back to the more nerdy but awesome.

I read "Spiderman" comics for years growing up in the 60s and loved them. To me, no movie has ever measured up, but this one isn't too bad.
By the way, webbing wasn't an inherent power. It was something he invented. Also, Mary Jane Watson was hardly his first girlfriend. That would be Gwen Stacy.
The Andrew Garfield & Tom Holland Spider-Men (Spider-Mans?) had mechanical web shooters. This movie didn't really show Peter's scientific genius. I'm guessing they wanted to avoid questions of how he built the shooters, and where the web formula comes from.
Don't worry; Gwen shows up in later movies. :)

This Spider-Man was a mix of your childhood and mine. I was born in 95 so when I was a kid I mostly knew the 90s cartoon Spider-Man and then when I got older I started reading the comics. This to me was probably the best version.They did their best trying to stay true to the comics and the cartoon
@@donnyouttheway4091 This and the next one were the best of the movies. I can even forgive then for annihilating the actual route by which Peter Parker met Mary Jane Watson, but I cannot forgive them for making webbing an inherent power. That isn't showing respect for canon.
@@brandonflorida1092 I can respect. But you know how super hero movies do. Especially when it comes to kids wanting to see them. They won’t care that much about accuracy knowing a kid like me never remembered that Spider-Man never had organic webs. I didn’t even remember that they showed that in the cartoon. I was just happy as hell that Spider-Man was gonna be on the movie screen. Just like i was for blade and X-men
