- So I've had my car literally a week today and I've been doing bits to it here and there when I get the chance after work. But being Saturday, I had the chance to go in to have my exhaust done, this thing is way too quite stock lol. I did basically the same thing I did with my girlfriend's FN1, but some how mine ends up louder and pops and bangs much more readily. Her's was done by MIJ, mine by DKU

Ive just had a backbox delete and a sports CAT fitted at MIJ walsall. Twin pipes both connected Sounds fuckin awesome. Airflow is much better and the throttle is a lot more responsive. Jus waiting for my CAI to be delivered.
Love that rear bumper with exhausts tip integrated...wish i could set one on my CRZ 2011

I have a Honda Civic 1.8 with a sports exhaust but it doesn't sound any louder it's only improved the performance.
Delete the backbox/resonator, a straight pipe exhaust will be better too

Nice sound, however I believe you broke the sound barrier, as well as the speed limit, 1 for the sound, 15(9) for the speed, that's outta 10..

Hey bro. Have you decatted this or is it literally just chopping the back boxes off? I have a 1.8 Type-S too, just repainted it with holographic metal flake, it looks great in the sjn (unfortunately as you know being in the UK means we have no sun 🤣). I also had the back box delete - stock cats, stock resonator but straight pipes from the resonator. Would love some more pops and bangs though, would a decat do this for me?

@Haseeb Sheikh in the video I'd only done the backbox delete. Hey man. Did you go from a dual output to a single. Do you notice any power decrease of you did. I'm trying to make up a stainless system but can't decide whether to go single or dual.

How much was it for the backbox delete ? And is it still not too loud on the motorway
@MovingMad honestly it's been a while, can't quite remember but it can't have been much more than £200 if that... It did drone a bit on the motorway but it wasn't too bad

@Dom.playz I can't really say as I didn't try this with the dual exit but I have got a custom set-up now with dual exist which is pretty rad so I'd say yeah go for dual
I have a question when you was removing back box the center box and catalyst was still in car yep? and still with this two car pops? it did it just by removing back box?
Yeah that's right, still had the CAT and mid silencer

I honestly have no idea what it is, I thought it was the drive shaft too and replaced them but the noise is still there 😪

Been told when I remapped the 1.8 if you have popcorn effect it can cause cat damage and maybe fracture?
@Pete C Don't know about that, didn't remap mine. But the cat is fine after 3 years, still passes emissions
@@aSidney don't think I'm moaning or anything I didn't mean it like that it's just what I was told today when I asked for the popcorn effect I got told that it would possibly damage the cat and possibly fracture it
@Pete C nah mate didn't think you were. Tbh I do think that would be entirely possible if you remapped cause you'd be passing more unburned fuel through the CAT to ignite it in the exhaust
@@aSidney I had my Mark 9 Civic 1.8 mapped last year and I wanted the popcorn effect and he said he didn't recommend it because the cat will eventually give out because of the popcorn effect

A bit loud tbh but it was liveable, not too bad, certainly not nearly as loud as the current set-up

@MissionKid it'd say res delete for less drone - I did notice quite a bit of drone with the backbox delete

How come your gfs sounds worse than yours in this video is it just the way you drove as I can't hear pops/bangs on your gfs car. Is single exit better maybe? Do you notice a difference?
There was definitely a difference but they were both single exists. The way the end up sounding is entirely dependent on what piping was use, the diameter of the piping and how it was bent. Her's sounded a bit deeper because they used a larger diameter pipe on her's than I had on mine but they both pop/bang. Her's burbles more on deceleration but doesn't pop as frequently as mine does on upshifts but mine pops more on deceleration than burbles and pops was more on upshifts. The piping makes all the difference. I've long since changed my exhaust set-up, feel free to give it a look in my newest videos 👍🏾

@@aSidney also did it pop/bang less with the 2.5 inch pipe when you redid yours when you redid backbox delete second time. Did you prefer the sound of either of yours or about the same and what do you use for speed camera detection or was it just gps.
@J.T nah I didn't sell the old one but it's all chopped up so couldn't use it again. The exhaust passed the MOT as in the video so should pass now with current set-up as well, CAT is still in place
