Deer are amazing animals, the fawn knows instinctively what to do....to lay down and not move and the Doe tell them that also. They have no scent for the first couple of days of their lives. I just love them. At my old house there is 50 acres of woods and the deer would come into my back yard and I would feed them. I do miss that. And all the beautiful birds.
Yes, and isn't amazing how well it blends in with the leaves and holds perfectly still. It knows that predators look for movement. I Know how you miss all that land and nature.
That little one is just minutes old, and you're right, the Doe will leave it and return only a few times a day knowing it is safest by not drawing attention to the fawn. The mom was close by though. Nice video.
I think this fawn was abandoned because it’s still covered in afterbirth and the mother stays with it for a while to get rid of it then place it somewhere safe I hope it survives

I have 2 different videos with coyotes on my channel. Still working on bear and wolf videos though. The problem with wildlife you can't call them up and ask them to pose, haha. Be patient with me my friend I will get them someday.
What happens to these kinds of Wild baby deer when they are spotted abandoned or left out behind by their mother by some reasons. Are they taken care off by Wild caretaker or ....seems just born, dont have strength to move. Poor baby. Hope You have taken care off by the generous photographer. Must have.
Yes we have guys like caretaker here .. but they do not only take care of the deer population ... they work is also take care of the trees anD stuff like this ...they are called "Förster" ...when they find a abondoned baby (deer) they take it home anD will take good care of it anD will release it if possible ...same with fox cubs anD all the other wild animals in the forest ...

I was not standing there the whole time. In the begging after setting up my camera you can hear me walk away. My battery lasts about 1 hour 30 min. I returned in 1 hour 20 min. took a few zooming in shots and left. My hope was I would get lucky and film the mothers return. The mother only returns to feed it, every 3 to 4 hours. At the end of the video you can see it is calm and content. No one watches to the end. I'm not sure you have seen it, but I just recently uploaded a new fawn video to show people why you do not disturb a baby dear. The mother always returns. People should be upset with those who pick the deer up thinking they are saving it.

I know the leaf was annoying for us, including the fawn, but it is supposed to lie there motionless anyway. People aren't supposed to go near babies whatever the animal is. Some people say that the mother will reject the baby, not sure if that's true at all. Someone within the comments said that the fawn has no scent for a few days. If the fawn doesn't have a scent, then none of us should go near the fawn, so that our own human scent isn't near the fawn. None of us want a cute little baby to come in harms way by having our own scent attract a predator to the defenceless cute baby. Other than the leaf the baby was ok. This was the cutest video. thank you for sharing...
