2:46 Beautiful sights. Thats one of my favorite thing to do in the glider is seeing clouds. One day I'll get to above them with proper training or a different kind of lift.

Stunning scenery! Cloud flying is fun. Back in the 70s when I started flying we tended (in the UK) to teach ourselves, which may not have been ideal, but I never lost control. Many UK gliders then had speed-limiting airbrakes, which could keep the glider from exceeding Vne even in a vertical dive!

Yes I have talked to UK pilots years ago and some of them confirmed that they did cloud flying without much of a training.

Stunningly beautiful! Also the X4 video quality is excellent. What settings did you use?

Full res and everything auto, manual decrease of exposure (-1). I accidentally put color correction node to last clip, thus way too much color saturation....

Fantastic Kristian - I never thought of going cross country above cloud base. I always thought of your cloud flying as a localized experience. Quick question:
    .
When going between clouds you say that there is a 'weak sink'. Is this consistent, say -1.5m/s sink or do you get some strong bouts of say -4m/s sink?

Near cloud edge it might be 1-2 m/s, usually it is much less, at times zero. But never lift, unless you manage to find wave, which is rare.

What wingspan did you fly in? What's the wingloading with the engine?

18 meters. The glider is appr. 40 kg/m2 without any water ballast.

It's so beautifull but so dangerous to fly in cloud. Imagine into the Alpes with a lot of glider doing the same. You are circling and an other one do the same... and the could start not so far of the top of the mountain...
You flight with to much joker...
Safe fly without mountain and no aircraft neer.
But pictures are so beautifull... like in waves conditions...
    Goodfly every pilotes.

Thanks for watching. Where I fly it is flat and airspace is in most parts basically empty. I would love to fly the Alps sometime, VFR would be fine.
