I love this album!! Common has an amazing disposition as well. I met him at a restaurant in Washington D.C. and he was so chill like he didn't even know how much we looked up to him as an artist. He took pics with us and talked to us about life stuff. Just one of the boys. He will forever be one of my favorite artists just for how down to earth he is.
It's interesting I've been listening to this channel for a while and now that your girl has been listening to all these classic hip hop albums she can accurately desipher them on her own without any help. 😎👍🏾
This will always be one of my favorite albums of all time. The intro alone always gets me in my feels and takes me back to when I first heard this as a kid
This is one of the best reaction videos you've made. I love how she deciphered some things with ease. I hope sometime next year, you'd do one for either Nas' It Was Written or The Lost Tapes. I'm sure she'd especially go crazy for The Lost Tapes
Seen a few reactions to you all. Should have subscribed then. Mistake corrected. I'm subscribed and looking forward to more! Side note: I really hope you do finding forever as I feel it's like part 2 to this and I REALLY hope you all get to lupe fiasco!
Damn, this album is a classic. When this came out I was a year in a relationship with my girl. She didn't listen to rap yet. She loved this and was amazed that this was Chicago Rap. Great memories
This album is Chicago through and through. From the producer and rapper to the sound itself. A proud Chicagoan right here 💯💪🏽… Also on a note unrelated to this album. My friend and I met Common at an album signing for Like Water for Chocolate in a popular music shop at the time. We went up to get his autograph, but we didn’t have his album so they tried to turn us away. But Common was like ”Oh no, it’s cool” and he signed posters for us. Super chill dude! He did not have to do that.
This is one of my all time favorite albums. Common, Kanye, and Dilla did an amazing job. I will say that, while most people know Common as the calm, centered, positive person he is... He wasn't always like that. He used to be an alcoholic and get into a lot of fights. His first album (when he went by Common Sense and worked mostly with NoID as his producer) is like an entirely different person. He has a very public bed with Ice Cube and his group Westside Connection. He dropped a diss track to Ice Cube called "B*tch In Yoo", which was vicious. I believe it took Minister Farrakahn taking the initiative to mediate their issues to resolve that beef. Also, I believe the album common was working on when he passed on the Everything I Am beat was the album after this called Finding Forever. That's a good album, too.
This made me so happy when it popped up in my feed. Love it. This album is so so good, just a fantastic listen with a poignant, sharp Common and two super producers in Kanye and Dilla. It’s your world is one of me favorite songs ever!
Be is one of my favorite albums all time. I know a lot of people consider Be, Resurrection or Like Water for Chocolate are his best albums, but I put Finding Forever on top personally. So I hope you can do Finding Forever at some point. All classics of course including his new album too.
I will always summarise this album as Common on his comeback and Kanye on his come up It's one of those "I have no notes" type of albums, with a high level of replayability NOTE: I also felt that the choice to swap out the studio recording of "The Food" was strange when I heard this back in the day Being that The Chappelle Show was one of the most culturally acclaimed shows, even at the time, the significance of using the live version from the show really feels like a 4D chess move because they knew how monumental the convergence of this album releasing, and also being on one of the culture's favorite sketch shows was going to mean something for years to come That record alone has aged like a fine wine
John legend’s first album is flawless. I highly advise you to check it out. It was entirely produced by Kanye and was one of the first albums to be released on the then newly launched GOOD music label of Kanye. Kanye went crazy on the production with that one too. The second album being this very album by common to be released on GOOD music. Be is an all time classic. So many great things including Dilla’s last beats. The way Dilla chopped up Marvin Gaye’s sample on Love is mesmerizing and the drums on Its your world too. What a great album and time it was for hip hop fans. There’s a studio version of the Food (which is much better than the live version) that was added on later releases and a different version of They say that featured Consequence (check out the song of his btw the good the bad the ugly ft Kanye released on good music) but Kanye took him off and put himself in and we ended up with that version on the album. I’m sure the other version is available on TH-cam or something. Anyways, great reaction. Common is an all time great and a balance hip hop needed. Her getting some of those references was amazing. Y’all should react to Blackstar - Respiration.
Wait. Nobody said that that was Kanye's FIRST television appearance EVER!!. GOOGLE IT! this whole story is wild. Watch Dave Chappelles interview on Jimmy Fallon talking about Kanye. 🤯
Common, Ye and Dilla on the same project is like a rap cheat code.
A classic. Be intro and stillmatic intros are my fav ever
"Blood of a slave, heart of a King"

One of the warmest intros of all time
Warm is the best word for it, it feels so distinctly autumnal and hearty
I feel like Molly has passed Hip-hop 101. Time to write that thesis 🤙
Word. How'd she catch that threesome story in GO? She's got really good intuition.
One of the best albums of hip hop history, period

When Molly says "Wow" or "Damn," you know she is really vibing to the music. Love it.
One of the nicest albums ever made
Thanks for this again. Common has been underrated forever. This album is really amazing showcase of hip hop culture.
Be (intro) is one of the most incredible intro tracks in hip hop.
'Be' has got to have the most beautiful Intro and Outro hip hop tracks ever! I love listening to this album straight through!
The intro build up is literally crack
It's Your World is one Commons greatest songs. This whole album is a masterpiece, but that song is the standout for me.
“I just want to consume all of this immediately”
It's interesting I've been listening to this channel for a while and now that your girl has been listening to all these classic hip hop albums she can accurately desipher them on her own without any help. 😎👍🏾
LOL I love the take on John Legend, I ask myself the question anytime I see or hear him. Be is for sure one of the best hip hop albums of all time.
This will always be one of my favorite albums of all time. The intro alone always gets me in my feels and takes me back to when I first heard this as a kid
electric circus will go down as his most underappreciated work- the album came out about a decade too early
24:54 Highlight of this video, Molly is killing it
YES, ABSOLUTELY! prob the best album of 2005

Would you ever react to some R&B, specifically D'Angelo? He only has 3 albums and all 3 are fantastic, especially Voodoo.

This made me so happy when it popped up in my feed. Love it.
This album is so so good, just a fantastic listen with a poignant, sharp Common and two super producers in Kanye and Dilla. It’s your world is one of me favorite songs ever!

His album "like water for chocolate" was a better album. And his best was "One day it will all make sense"..
I do agree I’d put Like Water For Chocolate over Be not by much though
