The logo was based on the famous flying bike scene of E.T. E.T. wasn't even on VHS until 1987, and the it was the rare movie that didn't air on pay cable until the 1990's.
It felt like an event when you watched movies like this with the whole intro and all on HBO.. amazing memories from the 80s.
