  • This is my review / comparison of the FOX Knives Libar in micarta. A compact simple slipjoint with a M390 blade and a gorgoues clippoint blade and a high quality leather slip. This is a perfect backup knife!

    I have a couple things, thanks for really getting me to take a better look at micarta, I was all carbon fiber before, now micarta. I do not understand the idea of carrying a backup knife. I could see if it was a Victorinox or something similar.

    Absolutely great knife. I only wish that there would be more colors for the micarta version.

    This knife reminds me of a Benchmade Proper. Just about the same size too.

    • @7redi
      @7redi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Got a bit of a resemblance but its smaller from what I can tell and more delicate. Great knife though!

    hey my friend, been looking for a new apple peeler for my work lunchbox. do you think this would suit the job or be a bit thick ? i currently use an opinel which is great but just wanted something nicer ?? kind regards.

    • @7redi
      @7redi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This knife could work great for that but i think its thicker behind the edge then an opinel but it should work pretty good as well. Quality is superb, value as well and its super light and the steel blows the opinel out of the water.
      Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    I love it..unfortunately nobody here in the states seems to have the micata. The olivewood and CF but no micarta. I really like it tough. I not only don't mind the recurve, but they really cut so well. This one is pretty mild on the recurve, and probably will be fine on stones, but anyone who has problems with sharpening a recurve, get a ceramic rod, or Spyderco or Lansky turnbxc type system, or better yet, what I have, a Honeywell 1-2-3 diamond rod. Only about 35 bucks, and you can not only do recurves, but any knife really. It has course, medium, and fine all in one rod. I only use it on my recurve blades, but you can sharpen any knife on it very easily.

      They certainly will come in stock later. Good sharpening advice!

    A recurve clip point on a micarta sodbuster-style handle? If that knife was a woman, I'd be asking her out to dinner. Beautiful knife, thanks for showing it off!

    That’s a beautiful knife. Too bad they didn’t quite get the overall finish, and more importantly that blade that will recurve

    • @7redi
      @7redi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah the recurve is a bit unfortunate but overall i think this is great little slipjoint

    Keep your slip joint nights next thing I know you slipped your finger off because there is no lock on it

    • @7redi
      @7redi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You just have to know and keep in mind that you use a knife without a lock then its not a problem.
