  • The Frandsen House, 1960, Lynn Maudlin. This gated private midcentury compound wraps around a stunning pool. The dramatic angles of the architecture contrast against the natural setting with expansive views. Original stained glass flanks the uniquely angled front door. Aggregate rock walkways and decorative brick walls continue indoors. Dramatic pitched rooflines and vaulted ceilings rest upon walls of glass that bathe each room in natural light. The renovation enhances the home’s abundant original details. Upgrades include a cook’s kitchen, marble quartz countertops, stainless steel Wolf appliances, LED recessed lighting, solar, Milgard and Fleetwood windows and doors, designer fixtures and hardware, new oak plank floors, new roof, new electrical and HVAC, automatic landscape lighting and irrigation, alarm system, new pool equipment, Nest thermostat and doorbell, and more. Located in The Highlands with top rated schools and close to quaint downtown Sierra Madre. erbeblackham.com

Gorgeous - especially love the stained glass by the entry, and the vintage tiles in the bathrooms.

Oh my Lord , what a house and home ! As the song lyrics say " There's a heaven on earth ,that so few ever find " , " though the map's in your soul ,and the road's in your mind !" Glorious ! Best wishes from Scotland .

For all of the money they know doubtedly were asking, to walk up to a place that's got cheap vinyl windows in retrospect, kind of doesn't sell it, what made mid-century work, are the few designers that at least try to sprinkle some Frank Lloyd wright design around how they did the window - it sounds like I'm Stormtrooping for windows, I kind of am, because that's the biggest part of your exterior / interior budget are windows, and it doesn't seem like it but it us.
Now don't get me wrong, the house is lovely, but when you do a curb appeal walk around front to back, and you see cheap, vinyl retrofit replacement windows - ouch!
People need to hire a contractor that knows a glazier, and knows how to assemble windows, you'd be amazed how much money you have to be saved and the custom touch you can get by having that knowledge
