This was my second song by then. I heard "No Scared" first. And was like damn they are heavy I like them. Then saw this and was BLOWN AWAY by Takas voice. I dove into their music and they have been my favorite band since I have discovered them lol.

Bakamatsu ( beginning of the end of edo period), guy named Kawakami Gensai worked for the Shishi as a hitokiri translated as"manslayer", assasinating political figures in daylight. He was the inspiration for the character Himura Kenshin, 'Battousai'.
The Beginning is the theme song for Rurouni Kenshin - The beginning ( live adapted from anime series with same name), in the movie. He made a vow never to take a life with his blade , thus adopted to use a reverse blade katana. He fought to protect the people who were important to him, struggling not to loose himself to the manslayer he was before.
One ok rock wrote a theme song for every Rurouni Kenshin movie.

Around this time, they were hanging out with bands like sleeping with sirens and panic at the disco. You can definitely tell what adiance they were singing for.
You should listen to cry out and mighty long fall. Great punch rock style songs.
No scared is a great old one from them. The MV is so funny.

"The Beginning" was one of the first mvs/songs I heard by One Ok Rock! I immediately became a fan after checking out "Clock Strikes" and "Deeper Deeper" 😭Both have great music videos in my opinion, but most would say the live version of both songs are better (which is true), but if you like checking out music videos, I suggest those two. Both were released 10 years ago. If you want to go even older, there's "No Scared" and "Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer," which has AMAZING live performance I would suggest watching. The ones at Yokohama stadium during the Mighty Long Fall tour are my favorites :)
