    By the end of this month, this service, along with its variant 117M, will be amended to serve Punggol Field. Its previous route plies Soo Teck LRT and Punggol Central.
    Service 117 is a trunk route plying between Sembawang and Punggol, going via the Canberra estate and Yishun in the north before going on the Yishun Dam, a dam separating the Straits of Johor from Lower Seletar Reservoir, towards Seletar and a small stretch of the Tampines Expressway (TPE) before going to Punggol. This service is mainly used by Canberra residents going to either Yishun or Sembawang as an alternative to 883 and 883M, while Yishun and Punggol residents mainly use it to go to Seletar Aerospace Park, an industrial park, or between towns. This is one of 3 full day bus services in Seletar, and one of 4 serving Seletar if counting 117M.
    Service 117M is a peak-hour route variant of 117, plying Seletar Aerospace Link and Crescent on both directions. This service only operates on weekdays for 4½ hours a day, from 5.30 am to 8 am, and from 5 pm to 7 pm, and fully replaces 117 during these periods.
    Additional details:
    The Yishun Dam and Seletar are popular with cyclists, and they are frequently seen biking around these areas. This service, along with 117M and 103, provide beautiful views of the waters and the occasional aircraft landing. 103 is mostly single-deck, with double decks being more common on 117/M.

      Sorry for the delay! You can just board the bus at any of the bus stops along the route. If you want to take from the bus terminal you can start your journey from. Sembawang or Punggol bus interchange. Its near the MRT station. For the whole journey, if you pay by card it's S$1.94 and $2.70 by cash. We charge by distance travelled

    Thanks for the lovely video once again!
    Just had a suggestion idea: it might be nice to have a map on the corner of the video that shows our progress through the route. Since generating this map and synchronizing with the video would be difficult, perhaps you could do a phone screen recording with Google Maps activated throughout the journey. Then the screen recording video could be overlayed onto this main video as a small box in the corner.

    • @DiscoveryWalkingToursTV
      @DiscoveryWalkingToursTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      😁 Thanks for the suggestion Murali. It did occur to me before to place the map there but decided against it as I though it would distract the viewing experience. I did leave the map route in the video description so you can analyse the routing in detail away from the video.
