Wow, this brings back some good memories. I was born and raised in Jersey (Hillside, Newark, East Orange & Irvington) until i was 15. Went to school in Irvington at Berkeley Terrace, Myrtle Ave Middle (now University) and Irvington High. At that time Queen Latifah's mom Ms. Owens taught at the school. Before she became famous, she and her and her crew would perform there.
Thanks for the tour. I wish you would leave the street name captions up a little longer so I can skip around easier. Includes Irvington Park lake, where I used to sail model boats. Includes lots of streets where I used to ride my bike. Includes the corner of Nye Ave and Ball Street where, as a 12 year old, I used to sell the Newark Evening News on the street corner.
Many, many of the same buildings ( at least where you walked) as 50-60 years ago, just different uses and tenants At least one memory on every block you strolled. Thanks
I read in your description 😅 was 39 degrees. 😅😅😅 That's why you hardly see anyone. I won't go near Irvington to see the old house where I grew up unless it is January or February & it's lower than 35 degrees. People stay in & you can make it out alive.

We used to ice skate there & it was a great place to hang out & meet your friends. 😊
