Hi Claire, german native viewer here. The translation given by the app don't do the german words justice. 😅 Dunkelbunt was translated correct as dark colourful. If you want a visual translation imagine a rainbow but in darker muted colours. I think, this fits best. Nachtschwärmer was translated wrong, it is not night warmer as given by the app. It is night swarmer if translated word by word. But Schwärmer is also a type of moth in Germany or Nachtschwärmer is also person who likes to party through the night. And Kuntergrau is a combination of two words: Kunterbunt, which is a intensification auf bunt (colourful) and grau, as you correctly guessed, gray. I don't know if Loriot is known to you, a german comedian very well known from the 1970s. And there is a sketch where he should help a therapist to redecorate the interior for a couple, which likes it muted and "boring". The therapist suggests bright colours and the couple only wants gray. And he suggests several shades of gray: asphalt gray, mouse gray, dust gray and so on. I love Sarah Richter's illustrations, she's an incredible artist. Unfortunately, I don't have any of her beautiful coloring books. I only have some of her pictures that were published in the Colouring Heaven magazine. I hope to get at least one of her books sometime soon. TYFS these gorgeous books.
I love her books too but I just can't get them right now,can't afford them at the moment,I hope to at least get dunkelbunt this summer when I am back at work ❤

I've got 3 of the coloring books by Francois Gautier, perfect size coloring books! And he's got a gothic book I think you would really like if you don't have it yet! And I just got a new one a month or so ago! Fantasy Wesen!! Perfect size! And some really cool art work in the book! Those size books would be so nice from some of the other great artists books that we all have and have been following for years! You know they all are, I don't have to list them all!🤷🤣🤣🤷☺️❤️🔥🙋. Hallöchen from Germany! You can't translate directly the word "Nachtschwärmer" it is an colloquial word for people who likes to stay a night out ... very long to make party. Kuntergrau is a Mix&Match word. A colloquial word for a nice mess in colours or things or your day can be "Kunterbunt". She makes grau (gray) instead of bunt (colourful). I love darker grayscale. Prismacolors are brilliant for those since they are opaque.
