Brilliant and very, very generous! Thanks for this demo, which will save me a world of pain in getting to the right starting point for my next project (NOT a copy of 'On The Run'). I'm a guitarist and synths are an alien landscape to me...but no more, thanks to you!!!
Hey, great demonstration of the worlds most iconic Arpeggio! I'm currently working with the Jupiter-8 V VSTi and of course I'm using exactly this arp pattern to get to know the Jup-8's arpeggiator and sequencer better. I love the sound of the JUP-8 🥰
Rishabh, very well done and explained. I am building a 16-step sequencer for a friend who plays bass guitar, but I thought he'd have fun with it. He's not sure what a sequencer does, so I shared your video with him. It's one of the most recognizable sequences ever recorded commercially. Thank you. Very enjoyable to see you create this! Peace, Sarah
Basically you use the resonance and cutoff buttons in a play-around to create a gradual ebb and tide in the "ring mod" effect---the so-called "sweep effect" of the modular synth sound in "On the Run."
Love how close and great sounds to the actual original. Usually there is a Huge difference in the sound of the EMS Synthi and a Moog but here it sounds very nice using the Moog and near identical! Great job on explaining the design steps in creating the sound.
So the notes are E - G - A - G- D (up 1 octave) - C - D - E ? Is that right? I'm trying to duplicate the passage on my Behringer Crave, which is not all that different from the Mother 32.
Dope Rishabh! Really good tutorial thanks, loving that this is my first sequence ive managed to pull off as im a big floyd fan, and ive actually made the mother sing for the first time. Given me a good insite into undertanding how it works, please make more mother vids ;)
great video!! the only thing lacking here is the accentuated hi-hat/noise, which can be achieved with another mother 32 or any noise source that allows accents to be programmed on any step. thanks for the video!
Nice job. You can also enter the notes in keyboard mode reducing the amount of key presses. Also no need to adjust the master tune to take . transpose down, use the keyboard in key mode. Keep having fun.
I can't find the exact quote, but this reminds me of something David Bowie (I think it was him) said. The gist was that the first thing to do before using a new piece of equipment in the studio was to throw the instruction manual in the trash.
Beautiful machine and well done for showing us exactly how to do it however I have to say without the drum beat (sample?) It doesn't quite sound finished even if you skipped out all the other effects. Other then that. THANK YOU🤟
I think I know what you mean. Is it that powerful choppy disturbance that fades in and out, cutting through and coursing through the whole thing? It happens at the 1 minute mark of the Pink Floyd version, again at 1:58, and once more at 2:43. It's like a "whap whap whap whap whap whap whap whap whap whap" How do you get that to happen?
Wonderful man. Thank you! Learned a lot! Would you recommend this one or the Minitaur if you had to choose one of them for its filter? Mainly for filtering and giving analog flavor to digital synths -pads running through it
I've never used the Minitaur but it does have 1/4 inch jacks for connectivity that you want. With the mother-32 you will have to use 1/8th inch cables to bring in and send audio.
The cable is not an issue. I am referring to the Sound signature. But if you haven`t used the Minitaur there is no way of knowing which filter you like. Either way thank you very much for the info
le truc de fou ... que j'ai repris maintes fois , avec mes KORG et autres ..à chaque fois ,je reviens sur ça ;) comme a dit Yann ..c'est le HELLO WORD !!
I've banged my head, hard, against this every time I try to make a sequence on this thing. I think the reason I was having trouble saving a pattern is that I wasn't holding (SHIFT) & (REC) a long enough time period (one second) see: #11 SAVE PATTERN in the Quick Start: www.moogmusic.com/sites/default/files/MOTHER-32_Quickstart.pdf The sequence was just blanking out, i.e. back to the one note default pattern.
On The Run is the hello world of the synth sequencer :)
Yann Guillermou jajaja yeaaah
Lol yes!
Birth of techno
Absolutely amazing how pink Floyd managed to do this back in early 70s... loved the video! Learnt a lot
thanks to the VCS 3
The EMS AKS actually
@@RootKaissar
not that amazing really, analog synths existed for some time already
This is one of the better tutorials on the Mother 32 that I have seen.
You have a wonderful voice for narration.
mymonkeymovie sounds kind of like werner herzog lol
And wonderfully long fingers for hitting those key combinations! 😃
Werner Herzog plays Pink Floyd on the Mother 32? Brilliant!
all zis moogy brooding
@@rp1891 I suppose he's his son :)
Can't unhear it now 😂
This is a really excellent demonstration - thank you!
Loved this all those years ago on the M32, now i'm onto doing the sequence on my Sequential PRO 3 SE : )
Brilliant and very, very generous! Thanks for this demo, which will save me a world of pain in getting to the right starting point for my next project (NOT a copy of 'On The Run'). I'm a guitarist and synths are an alien landscape to me...but no more, thanks to you!!!
Just tried it and it sounds great. Many thanks for this tutorial!
Very Good tutorial of mogg sequence congratulations
Best video showing how to create this sequence.

I play bass too what Sequencer you made .
This, is bloody impressive!!!
Thanks for making these, they really are helping me wrap my head around my Mother 32 (my first synth).
Ordering mine this Friday , How is it in your perspective ?
Fantastic work and edu. Loving this world as new to synth.
Thanks for an amazingly easy to understand tutorial. Please share more patterns on the Mother 32
Extremely awesome and cool tutorial. The Mother-32 is a fantastic first synth to learn this stuff on.
Follow my Facebook page for updates on future videos:facebook.com/rrjmusic/
I watched your 2 tutorials ask audio and youtube about moog just love them thanks for sharing
Nice little synth, nice video.
Not the easiest sequencer to program, but this video really helps. Thank you.

Rishabn! You’re an absolute boss!
That was awesome. I just listened to the Roland Boutique series. This is real.
Pink Floyd did it in 1972, when the “three of Belleville” still use feeding bottle…
I love in this track how they’re not quite sure what drumbeat to use. It’s litterally the prototype for all electronic dance music.
Good follow along tutorial! The patch bay is still a bit of a mystery to me, this helps.

Whoa! Werner Herzog has a synth channel on TH-cam?! I LOVE THE FUTURE!!

great video!! the only thing lacking here is the accentuated hi-hat/noise, which can be achieved with another mother 32 or any noise source that allows accents to be programmed on any step. thanks for the video!
you can do that with a single m32 with some creative patching.
Excellent tutorial, thanks for sharing !
do you plan to do a video that shows how to make percussive sounds like the hihat sound or drums in general?
Well done!
Great vid! Thanks for posting.
The blueprint and foundation for everything techno.
Love your vids Rishabh!
Great! Love your videos and tutorials!

Awesome video!
Very good video
Awsome vid thank you so much for the great tutorial
Wow, pretty spot on

Pretty cool but doesn't have the unbalanced chaos EMS provide. Tried running this through my Crave and it was nice but not right.

Amazing, thanks to share!
Awesome!
And to get that aggressive helicopter type sound you can increase the attack time
Your videos are great!!
Perfect!
great tutorial. in anticipation of the arrival my DFAM/M32, you're about to get a ton of views from me now lol.
Marc David I don’t mind at all! 😄
Thank you for this!

noise part seq?
Very cool. I'm going to try this on the Behringer Neutron. Thank you.
Great! loved the video thank you!
sweeet thanks brother
You clever chap!
Just fire
le truc de fou ... que j'ai repris maintes fois , avec mes KORG et autres ..à chaque fois ,je reviens sur ça ;) comme a dit Yann ..c'est le HELLO WORD !!
What about the hi-hat effect done by the VCS3? Can you do that on the Mother 32?
+SuperCartiel With noise, Definitely! I will be doing another video thats similar. so look out for that one.
To make de hit hat efx is a combination of noise and the cv signal of the sequencer thru a ring modulator.
Brilliant!
What camera did you use for recording
Sony A7S
This is great! I have always loved that sequence. I can't wait to try this on my Sub37
Well done dude.
Wow, the reset pattern is the intro to Chariots of Fire!
Snare is missing.
Thank you for this! That sequence is so fast I couldn't figure out the notes lol....
Thats so cool. You should do to much Time on my Hands by Styx
I have a problem, maybe somebody can guess how to fix this: my tempo/gate length control does not reach that tempo. any idea why? Thanks!
Lisa Morgenstern exit step mode
awesome!
Would you recommend the Mother 32 for someone looking to start experimenting in synthesis or am I aiming to high for a novice?
Mother 32 is perfect for an entry level synth
Excellent!
Thank you :]
COOL !!!!
This was a great inspiration for Giorgio Moroder and I Feel Love
I think I'll use it like arp for a dubstep track
so cool
Rishabh, this unit seems pretty nice. On a 1 - 10 scale, how do you rate it?
10
this is like synth asmr
I bet it would sound good on my TD-3
Thank yo for the tutorial!
Where's the hi-hat?
on the run used an EMS VCS 3 speeded up,not a moog of any model!
Really? I thought they used Xfer Record’s Serum.
Noise give that snare fx
Thanks man! Great video tho. I like and subscribed.
🥳

On the record it's not a half step down, Breathe ends on an Em and On The Run starts in E too, not Eb
They tune down a half step. Have a listen and compare. th-cam.com/video/VouHPeO4Gls/w-d-xo.html
mate, this video is tuned down half step down because of copyright issues, I'm listening to my CD right now that I bought and it's in E
Sorry, You're right. I just heard the iTunes version, and that ones in E too. I used the youtube version for reference when I did the video.
Doesn’t it shift down in mid-song?

Tonally perfect, just too fast on the tempo. Thanks a lot for your hard work!
