One of my all time favorite of my childhood, thank you 20th Century FOX for making The Poseidon Adventure as an timeless movie.

Back when movies were an event that you liked going to. And CGI was unheard of. Great actors and actresses and a great movie. 👍🏾👍🏾
I remember seeing this at my local theater in 1972. Back then we had ONE theater in my county that showed ONE movie at a time and my Cub Scout troop went to see this movie and I distinctly remember not wanting to go see it but it wasn't long into the movie I was sure glad I did. Today the same county has more movie theaters than I can count that show up to 24 movies at a time. Funny the things you reflect back on in one's life...

I remember watching this movie as a kid, didn't know the name though and have searched for it for years now. Just stumbled upon it. Feeling really nostalgic right now
Mom and Dad always took me to these flicks. Poseidon. Towering Inferno. Airport. Tora Tora Tora, 2001. And scarily enough Clockwork Orang.(well, that was because she was a teacher and we were doing 'homework').

remember seeing this when I was a little kid. This and raise the titanic always captured my imagination.
The remake was cool. But, the original was awesome 😎👍. Was back in the days when the whole family would sit down and watch.

I remember watching this every New Years Eve when I was growing up. It’s always haunted me and watching this has given me PTSD 😂😂😂
Imagine these giant mega cruise ships capsizing nowadays with 15,000 or more people on them. That would be some sequel. In a bizarre way, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it happened one day, particularly as tsunamis are now more common & known about in the oceans than we once thought.
Watched this for film history class in high school. It was an in-depth lesson in what not to do.

I did watch this movie on StarzEncore Channel in Spring April 2024.
I want a modern shot-for-shot remake of this movie, set in 1972, filmed on the Queen Mary, with a lookalike cast to the original, with the only difference being modern special effects.
