If someone ambushes the American / Israeli forces, they are terrorists, but if they attack Myanmar forces, they are rebels. Just curious how so? Taliban also called them Mujaheeden, which means solder of God.

Some history without bias:

British rule lasted until Myanmar gained independence in 1948.
Post-Independence Struggles: After independence, Myanmar faced challenges in nation-building, including ethnic tensions and insurgencies. Political instability, economic mismanagement, and authoritarian rule marked much of the country's post-independence history.
Military Rule (1962-2011): In 1962, General Ne Win led a military coup, establishing a socialist regime that ruled Myanmar for nearly five decades. The military junta's rule was characterized by repression, censorship, and economic stagnation.
Pro-Democracy Movement: Throughout the latter half of the 20th century and into the 21st century, Myanmar saw various pro-democracy movements, including the 8888 Uprising in 1988 and the Saffron Revolution in 2007. These movements called for political reform and an end to military rule.
Transition to Civilian Rule: In 2011, Myanmar began a process of political reforms, culminating in the 2015 general elections, which were won by the National League for Democracy (NLD), led by Aung San Suu Kyi. Despite these changes, the military retained significant power.
Rohingya Crisis: In recent years, Myanmar has been under international scrutiny for its treatment of the Rohingya minority, particularly in Rakhine State. The military's crackdown on the Rohingya population has been widely condemned as ethnic cleansing and genocide.
Current Situation: Myanmar's political situation remains fluid, with the military regaining control in a coup on February 1, 2021, alleging election fraud in the November 2020 elections, which the NLD won by a landslide. The country continues to face challenges in achieving peace, stability, and democracy.

Travel is resticted. People seem worry free. Not gonna say more as phones do get searched here often. Figjting is far away. Lovely locals, good food, people speak better english than in Thailand.

Not throwing shades at Palestine and the revolution, but the UN is heavily focused and occupied by the Palestine-Israel topic and crisis. They forgot Myanmar is also suffering. I think they see the Junta as the true rebels who overthrew the democratically elected government. that would make these "rebels" the armed forces of the legitimate government in exile, who aren't rebelling as much as they are fighting to restore order.

ASEAN rules : not intervene with other countries internal politic. The organization can only push for peace diplomatically or just by talk
Asean is created for economic purposes, not war or politic. Each state has a pact to not intervene on others internal political situation. We can only send humanitarian aid.
We can block economic trade for the Junta regime, and it is already done. But if they get help from other countries outside Asean then we cannot do anything.

The Karen people were renown brave fighters and instrumental in helping the British form guerrilla units to fight the Japanese. The British officers and NCO's who commanded Karen units were so disgusted at how the Karen tribes were being treated/hunted/murdered after WW2 they left the army and formed their own private unit to go help the Karen people they owed their lives to. After purchasing a consignment of weapons and supplies they were betrayed and the British/American navy intercepted them off the coast. Nearly all involved received prison sentences and the story is the stuff of such adventure & sadness.

ive seeing this war on reddit for like a long time and i dont know the story about it. all the videos are from the rebels which is sound the enemy because of the (rebel) word killing the army which is sounds the good guys. but according to reddit junta army was the enemy. and i dont know how and why? + the rebels has this funding for a good weapons and who funded them? which is the real enemy in that war?
so to my knowledge this is what's happening, we have a lot of rebel groups most were formed because of ethnic tensions before the military coup and some being formed after the coup and over time as more people started to join rebel group due to the junta doing military dictator things the original rebels grew in size. now how they get their gear is simply by taking it from dead or captured junta forces and military camps that they took also there were a decent amount of military personnel that joined the rebels. also Myanmar before the coup was a partial democratic state that did have a lot of issues I'm not as informed on those issues but I know the military was attacking minority groups and the government didn't or couldn't do anything to stop it then in 2021 the military did a coup.
