Owned this record shortly after it was first released. One of the few I kept. All are brilliant, but I miss Steig and Moody the most. Moody’s Autumn Leaves is simply amazing. His use of “color” in the opening is unsurpassed. I wonder why Hubert Laws wasn’t included in this festival...

That intro could be for any song. When the song came then you realize how skillful is maestro. Definitely the best flutist in history of jazz

Far more boppish than Frank Wess's take...Moody was the greatest bebopper on flute...Period
I love everything Moody has done but as a flute player this get me.. wonderful. I want to mention my favorite flutist... Orlando Valle aka Maraca.
