I'm painting raptor chapter. Speed paint doesn't cover well and camo green is too dark. I tried speed paint on a bug figure the store gave me for free and it's really good for that but space Marines armor is so bad I don't have acrylic and fanatic paint isn't a thing yet. And you can't use speed paint on anything other than white. I'm always trapped in a loop on everything I do. I don't even know how to play.

Is that what grey walnut is called? Or is the unit in his video a laminate layered assembly?

You should do that again but put some kind of device that measures impact force just to see what kind of impact that plate has against your chest when being hit by a bullet. Would be interesting to see

Def stopped it. I am more curious how badly would you have some broken ribs with that heavy of a round. The bulge on the back would have helped give me a idea on it. Large slow moving but with heavy force on impact. I have seen 2 steel plates together stop a .50 BMG. Doesn't mean your insides won't be completely liquefied.

Factory loaded 45/70 ammo is pretty weak. It is loaded that way so that it can be fired in an 1873 Springfield Trapdoor without blowing up. However, it was developed to penetrate 11 inches of pine at one thousand yards. Weak compared to modern Smokeless calibers, but no slouch it self.
Well it might not penetrate, but if someone was wearing this, they would be sent to a hospital for a broken chest, ribs and lungs from the impact. You ain't the star in a Hollywood western.

I picked up a Henry Big Boy X for around 1k that's every bit as good as that marlin, with a walnut stock that's beautiful.
