    Fixed my wobbly arrow problem. I'm new to the recurve bow world, and absolutely love it. Vids like this are very helpful with my learning of this craft. Thank you for this information.

    Thanks man. I'm self taught and new in an area with zero archery resources. Your videos help tremendously.

    My custom wound bow string and accessories arrived today ahead of time. I’m super excited! Thanks for getting my order out the same day I placed it. Excellent bow string, customer service and communication about my order! Merry Christmas!

    I would suggest starting at least a half inch above rest, and even more if shooting 3 under. If you start too low it can be very deceiving because your arrow can actually be bouncing off rest. I found it much easier to start high so you purposely have a nock high arrow , and gradually move down till you hit perfect flight.

      I had been shooting my current setup for almost a year, and recently bumped up my draw weight. Noticed bow had a loud clack sound, also whenever my feathers got wet, arrow flight was erratic. I ended up going from 3/8 nock height to 7/8 and was blown away how crazy straight they flew when wet, bows alot more quiet as well.

    Helpful video-thank you for the straight forward style. Have just started bare bow here in the uk and just getting a little confused by the different approaches and advice but this was helpful. Many thanks

    Good advise. Thank you. I'm old and shaky and trying to do stuff that require a steady hand, like work with a pliers and brass collar and a T square...well it is frustrating. The duct tape is pretty dang smart.

    Presumably, the 1/4" above rest is the top of the bottom nocking point. Some people use the bottom of the top nocking point as reference.

    So Duct Tape on the back ,on the string. We need some duct tape that has the shatterproof archery logo on it. Thankyou for that it helps, been using more dacron to tie a small knot and then spining it on the serving to go up or down then once I got the spot, a spot of CA glue to lock it in place. That brass can cut you too. But you already knew that.

    It also helps to know how your bow is tillered. If you are shooting a bow tillered for splitfinger 3 under, you need to run a higher nocking point.

    I had that issue with the new arrows I had gotten,,, and I adjusted the knock point and made a huge difference,, tested it at about 7 yards,, and was hitting bullseye, but they hit with the knock high,,, and a little right,,,

    Nocking point to high does what to the arrow? Nocking point too low does what to the arrow?

    Don’t forget about nock fit as well, if your nock is to tight on your string you will spend hours trying to fix the wrong problem.

    • @allen4758
      @allen4758 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm more of a compound guy but I'm into both , and I can definitely say I get group's at all distances with either bow when my knocks are not overly tight

    • @nutsmonkey787
      @nutsmonkey787 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When I saw this comment I couldn't see the whole thing so I was really hoping you're going to go for a joke of if the knock is too tight on the string your string will spend hours trying to figure out which cylinder is knocking.

    I use to start at 1/8th of an inch high, but almost always too low. Started doing 3/8's and it is usually very close to correct for me. I shoot split finger. Three fingers under will be different.

    All the bells and whistles we put on our bows to help one thing ends up changing another.
    This is not to sound like an a-hole purist. But my experience has taken me to where I do not use any additional mechanisms to aid my shot. No nock point, no sight, no nothing. Absolute bare bones off the knuckle shooting and I’ve never had so much fun. I spend much less time tuning and adjusting and more time shooting. It’s made archery so much more enjoyable.
    Just my experience and I still love all archers and their preferred methods.

    So I've adjusted my nocking point for good arrow flight but it is at almost 1" above "0"! Is my bow tiller off?

    I can't get this right. My Arrows are flying nock high. I've lowered the nockimg point so much that now the fletcher arrow is nock low and the bareshaft in nock high. I've adjusted my tiller and it's still doing it 😵‍💫
    My left right tune is perfect though.
