In Sean Payton's defense when you already have Drew Brees on your team you're probably not too overally concerned about selecting a QB in 2017.
@Bleeding Silence Yes but we're talking 3 years ago and your team still had Drew Brees finding a new QB wasn't your number #1 priority at the time.
@Bleeding Silence I understand that just pointing out that why drafting Mahomes wouldn't have been as high of a priority for the Saints. I'm more of a Chiefs fan anyone else, basically adopted them after the Rams left.
And we're basically comparing Mahomes now at the absolute zenith of his prime against a 40 year old Brees with maybe one more left in him. It would be a better discussion to compare a 2009 Brees vs a 2019 Mahomes. I probably would still take Pat but the difference isn't as significant.

@@merle622 Never get back? They were in the playoffs this past season and Taysom Hill looks like he could be a good starting QB. Saying they'll never get back is kind of a dumb statement, they're not a bad franchise like the Browns or Bengals.

How exactly is a QB at more risk on a 4th & 15 after a TD than he is in any other pass heavy situation?
Because it's a do or die situation. The QB is going to hold onto the ball instead of throwing it away, like he would on a 3rd & 10 for example. I don't think it's much more dangerous than your typical passing play. The safety argument against the 4th & 15 onside kick is dumb in my opinion.
because he has to wait longer for a wr to get open at 15 yards making him more vulnerable to a hard hit ...DUUHHH

Because he doesn’t get hit on an onsides kick. The 4th and 15 would replace it.
Ty Abbott it’s against any kickoff you get it 4th and 15 and go for it or punt and punts are much safer than kickoffs. The kickoff is the most dangerous play in the nfl it needs to go
