@@hudsonpoll1279 I think some parts are done with economy picking, or it's really difficult with alternate picking only, like the run at around 2:39/40
It's not a metronome, it's a drum track that got recorded through guitar pickups. Sometimes you can hear how there are more sounds, not just a steady beat.
Well, you can hear more sounds, but there is definitely a metronome there. The drum track doesn't have that tick on every beat, only the snare every 2 beats
@@NihilQuest I’m pretty sure it’s just bleed directly from the recording room to the amp mic, not through the guitar pickups. I would be surprised if these guitars don’t have a gate anywhere on the signal chain, the metronome would have gotten lost there if that was the case.
Interesting. There’s a harmony guitar part on both the pre chorus, the 2nd chorus and the last chorus but it’s so low in the mix I never heard it in the full song. Also Marty’s solo sounds massive when isolated. Amazing!

lol of course he can play it if I can play it don't be too stupid. and @Knut Bjelland hetfield of course cant play it. He says himself kirk is better and he can't shred for shit.
Bahadır Aksoy kirk can't play as good as Dave never mind Marty. Anyone can play better than Kirk, as long as you have a wahwah and wammy bar u are on his level
oh my god the chorus!
/wink
One of my favourite metal choruses.

Don’t mind this comment, I’m just using them to learn.
how is it going?
AlexVinchenzo
Well, I can play the entire solo slowed down, but up to speed is still a challenge coz I suck at alternate picking.
@@hudsonpoll1279 same man. I reach 90% of the speed. The rest 10% are just insane / impossible for now. Probably takes a month to master the speed
Friedman is a genious!!!! Super-skilled-out of planet guitar player!

The last thing I wanna see during an epic Marty Friedman solo is a picture of Chris Broderick hahah
I was going to say the exact same thing (one year later ;-) )
I like how you can hear the metronone faintly ticking in the background

I think it's Ellefson's walking bass line. It has a consistent metronome sound in this song
Idk what you mean by the track getting recorded through the pickups, i know putting sound close to the pickups makes it go through the amp

Marty's lead tone on this song is so killer! Plenty of bite but super punchy and cuts through the mix perfectly. Love it!

I’m learning this on guitar and this really helps with the timing on the prechorus 😁
I love that old school thrash metal crunch of the 80s.
But this was released in the 90s..

I wonder if Kirk could play that solo @ 2:30
The thing about Kirk is that every solo, he need to practice more than most Lead Guitarists... But Hetfield could play it easily...
Knut Bjelland Hetfield can't play solos
