I love how this game implies Conker and Banjo are part of the Super Mario universe.
It's like as if Nintendo and Rare were always gonna be BFFs. That of course turned out to be a complete facade, especially when Microsoft happened.
Gregg Mayles had confirmed that Banjo and Conker's involvement is non-canon. They were just bonus characters that were meant to be removed after their games were delayed, but it was too late into development for that to happen.
Interestingly enough. The original N64 version of Diddy Kong Racing would be the debut appearances of Conker the Squirrel and Banjo the Bear. Which would be before their debut solo games came out.
cool trivia but that's like the most known thing about the roster lol
The DS version has simplified shading and effects and no anti-aliasing compared to the N64 version, but instead has more meshes for character models and a higher, more stable frame rate.
One key difference I've noticed between the two versions is the voice for Taj the Genie elephant as in the 64 version he speaks with an Indian accent but in the DS version of the game he has a British accent instead
The scrolling on the mini map on the DS version is really smooth.
The comic sans on the DS version 💀
it would be best if they came out on the next gen konsole Nintendo Switch
If PS1 made a version Diddy Kong Racing, this would be the comparison video.
Even to this day I still don't understand people who prefer pixelated textures to the filters offered by the N64 graphics...
I don't understand people who love pixel art that's blocky, that's not what the games looked like. It drives me MAD when people play 16 bit games with no filters and blocky sprites.
Stars of Diddy Kong Racing of Nintendo: Diddy Kong (Blue), Timber (Green), Bumper (Yellow), Pipsy (Pink), Tiptup (Cyan), Krunch (Orange), Conker (White), Banjo (Turquoise), Drumstick (Red) and T.T. (Silver)
n64 resolution 320x240, ds 296x192, its the antialiasing n64 has that makes you thinks its lower res.
Plus n64 has more effects and details on graphics.
Only downside is the unstable framerate, on ds is smooth.
Easy win for N64, vastly superior in all aspects, presentation, graphics, gameplay and sound.
The DS 'enhancements' are awful... It's like Rare asked the work experience kid with no prior design experience to do all the work in remake.
Not sure if this was done but, can you please do a Project Justice Arcade/Dreamcast comparison, please? Thanks in advance!
I forgot that the DS graphics were similar to the PS1.

so baixar hack que colocam eles no nds
gonna roll w/ N64 on this one
Eu tenho as duas versões cartuchos originais, e sem dúvida a versão do N64 é melhor.
I would prefer the DS version. It reminds me Sega Saturn graphics.
n64 embora frame rate do GBA lá esteja melhor
Ds amigo, não GBA
Nintendo 64 é melhor!.
Jogabilidade melhor e graficos também sao melhores.
Ds não supera o original.
DS version is better. It runs at a higher framerate and resolution and the performance is much more stable. Only plus for the N64 version is anti aliasing but the anti aliasing, low resolution and blurry textures make the N64 game look washed out.
n64 resolution 320x240, ds 296x192, its the antialiasing n64 has that makes you thinks its lower res.

Completely uneducated.
gameplay wise it sure as hell ain't. DS version has more tracks (the jungle ones) and characters, but the touch screen controls and the create a track editor were bad gimmicks... The hovercraft blowing in the mic gimmick was so bad, I didn't bother trying to beat Loz: Spirit Tracks on DS. Besides that... Conker and Banjo were replaced with kong characters, all the voice actors were overhauled and worse (Taj especially), and the game lost a lot of the story by not having the boss dialogues in each overworld from each settins, as well as missing voice acting for them, not to mention no cheat codes. I felt really lukewarm about the character balance overhaul. They ruined T.T. Tiptup and Pipsy. Drumstick got buffed in speed, but it wasn't saying much when Wizpig and Taj were too blazing fast. Finally they ruined multiplayer by taking out the battle stages and the upgrades part system which completely fell flat when everyone just went with broken speed parts online. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time with the game, but the original is superior to this.. remake. They tried to change too much while adding worthless gimmicks and taking out stuff that shouldn't have. Nintendo fucked up with not buying out Rare too.
i tried to play this on DS and found it unbearable. Some aspects of the gameplay ask for a N64 controller.
As for the visuals, DS looks way better and plays way better. 64 looks cleaner because its filtering textures that are much worse than DS ones.
Nintendo 64.. 14fps xD
I hate to say it but the DS version is the inferior version of the game.
Definitely.
Graphically no. The N64 runs at a lower resolution and the framerate is completely unstable. It's a blur fest compared to the DS and judders way too much
@@BurritoKingdom I never had an issue with the resolution or framerate. 64 version also had better effects. Besides that, much better gameplay in single and multiplayer modes without anything cut.
Changes in DS
- All karts are the same colors
- Banjo and Conker are removed due to Rare being Microsoft
-Silver Coin Challenge replaced with stupid Magic Carpet Touch Mini game
-The voices are changed
- upgrading items has been complicated needlessly
-The start up boost system forces touch and microphone controls
-Unlocking T.T. requires THREE TIMES THE EFFORT
-WIzpig and Taj are even more broken than T.T.
- Mini games replaced with crappy build a stage format against T.T.
N64 Wins by a Longshot
NOT EVEN CLOSE
the DS version is Garbage
First time I tried this Game in DS I knew that was going to be rubbish. I hated that game
@@jamesytez6639 the DS version or the original?
@@StarForceBelmont321 ds version
@@jamesytez6639 oh good
The original was a classic
They ruined it
They got rid of the bananas in the DS version too. What the fuck. I liked collecting bananas.
The DS version looks like it plays slower, and I prefer the filtering on the N64 version, makes the graphics look cleaner.
