I'm new to Hanguk Aeni. Watching from London UK.❤
I think many people fail to realise that a vast amount of American cartoons are animated in South Korea. And the same goes for even Japanese cartoons as they are sometimes outsourced to SK for assistance in animation, and yet domestic South Korean cartoons are hardly recognised outside of the country. I'm glad that SK culture is starting to grow in popularity overseas and more people will become aware of SK's talented artists outside of K-Pop and K Drama.
It’s interesting how Korean Animation isn’t really that popular or known overseas but Kpop and Kdrama’s are super well loved and popular
Japanese animation (anime) is the most popular in the world than south korean animation
I don't like kpop so sorry
@@duongdisneyArgentina animation will also be popular in the world and you'll see
Kpop and Kdrama are popular only in Asia
A lot of Korean Manhwa comics are now getting popular and are being made into Japanese Anime.
I can not believe people overseas do not even know about this. We got anime, but why not this? It's interesting to see that there is more animation outside of the US than just Japan, this is just amazing, everyone needs to experience this type of artistry just like manhwa.
23:14 I finally found the show I've been looking for since I was six years old! I had no way to find it because I haven't learned Korean yet! This is so awesome!!! I saw Zolaman on a website with flash animations and games when I was little. I'm almost 24 years old and finally I found the animation I remember from so many years ago!
In todays world original Korean animation is the most niche of them all, not counting American cartoons made in Korea . They are currently overlooked by Japan and Americans animation industry. Korea needs to step up to allow animators and studio animate more films and shows
It's definitely not the most niche when you consider the rest of the planet lol, at least a video like this exists to chronicle it, there's countries out there that doesn't even get that.
Winter Sonata really did it well for an anime adaptation of the kdrama
Boycott Japanese anime
Apparently Korean animators are commissioned to work on things from all over the world. I hope their homegrown works will take off internationally.
I don't think that really would work unless they create their own art styles which South Korea doesn't have. They use Japanese art styles and that will go against them.
@@YonIon996With the exception of 3D animation in which the US is far SUPERIOR
뭔가 애니메이션이 발전을 계속 못하고 10년마다 그 시대 트렌드 따라서 미숙한 작품을 뽑아내는 느낌
2010년대 괜찮은데,,
I want to watch them all
Many shows of this list were dubbed to arabic language too.
And also many American shows were outsourced to south korea like the Simpsons
There’s an awesome animated adaptation of the South Korean show Running Man.
He added it
I recognized a good number of Korean TV animations when they aired, and then some not on this list.
Korea has so much Manhwa. It would be cool if they could just start adapting some of those into animated series.
Fr
그중에 재밌는 만화가 없어서 tv만 돌리고 있는 1인
Fr like Sweet home already has a live adaptation honestly I hope there would be a manhwa adaptation of sweet home
It's amazing that our country also has such a deep history.

6:00 What's Wonder Woman doing here in the South Korean cartoon?
Not a bad list but I reckon you've only got about 50% of South Korean animated feature films listed. Kim Chong-Gi has directed and produced at least 10 alone not to mention the many Wooroemae films, Dinosaur and I, Africa, Wonder Boy Conan etc etc etc.
Informative video, thanks.
My pleasure :)
this is better than north korea animation in every single way
That goes without saying.
CAN WE TALK ABOUT JANG GEUM??? CHILDHOOD OF 2000s TURKEY
@@TropicalHonduranDominican im shocked too. I thought it was popular around the world. But its just in Turkey and Korea
Cool Video WooKong
Thanks!
Update on October 2023: Biocop Wingo is now finally public on TH-cam videos.
37:46 It is legend.
Hey! Do you remember Korean show from 2000s about group of kids lost on the island (it was a bit sci-fi-ish)? Basically Lost for teenagers.
I’m pretty sure it was the same studio that made “Spheres” and many other animated series from this video
What was its name?
43:34 터닝메카드 어렸을때 진짜 재미있게 봤는데.

Amazingly South Korean create the Japanese Anime Influences and i have seemed this details from Japanese Cultures and Art Style different, I usually watched every Japanese animation media several years ago for me.
I usually can watch every Japanese and South Korean animation were influenced are anime art styled which was pretty good quality, I have decided to create American-Thai anime art design based in Thailand, Imagine like big dreams with industrial stuff come true…
I think japanese anime is the most popular than south korean anime
South Korea did not create Japanese anime influence though. Disney was the influencer.
@@duongdisney Yup, They’re famously anime made purpose
@@a61374 But South Korean create anime influences from Japan from history

I WAS RIGHT!! Tayo did exist. I thought it was some fever dream I had when I was 20 years old
9:36 tractor beam sound effect from the video game Galaga
i remember watching cubix years ago never knew it was animated in korea 😊
14:43 Ahhhh, so THAT'S what Fairy Pink is! I saw this credited for some South Korean animation studio who did work for Calico Entertainment & I assumed that this was some unaired Calico pilot. Well, I was wrong on that!
EDIT: Ok, where the heck do I even find this? Curious.
Flowering Heart, Running Man & Catch! TeeniePing Are The Best Ones
Yes! I think they are all really good shows!

Omg, I feel so dumb. I thought Pucca was from China! And I never thought The Nut Job was Korean since it was a BIG hit in America.

I only know " Tiny Tan"😅.i don't know why these amazing animations are not popular in india🤔Anyone tell me about famous korean cartoon throughout the world? But the Japanese animations are quite famous in india
Hey, do you know the name of animation korea that main character have a mask, and can use power of genbu, suzaku, water dragon, and the main power character is byakko
They made the better noblesse adaption and they didnt continue? That could have been their king's avatar
like god of high school its been licensed to a japanese studio so u can watch an anime version but your right its a huge pitty :/
The Pixar movies are not in the "South Korean Animations" because Pixar was never made in South Korea, But instead made in the United States!
peter sohn: i am joking
There is a Korean anime show something about a little boy with devil horns and a tail for his adventures in the 90s, but I don't know that shows name. That was the first Korean show I watched when I was a kid my mom showed me
46:52 Pucca has been around since the 2000s
the original is in the video ( 22:11 )
Yes. It was.
Winter Sonata and Larva are favourites - but was that adapted from a live action drama?

What do you think about the upcoming Wukong game that the whole Internet is super hyped about
it looks very cinematic. hopefully it can live up to the hype, though we still dont have much information on it. as long as it doesnt do a cyberpunk, itll be a win lol
I would highly recommend Red Shoes, bcuz it’s full of fairy tales, supernatural and Chloe Moretz is in it as well. Beautiful animated movie made by Koreans
Taishō-Reiwa
My favorite show 22:11
My favorite show again 46:50
i was never really interested in Korean animation. imo it was kind of bad. but I'm willing to try some good ones again. I do have nostalgia for dooley and robot taekwon

@@phamtuanphamtuan-cs2lw Young people in their teens and 20s are certainly interested to some extent. The reason why Korea's animation business is not developing (such as the blade of extinction, magic rotation, etc.) is that it produces many animations targeting infants. You forgot mix master
No wonder why it looks so much like Japanese animation!
Its kart star
I didn't know Larva was made by Korean
Magic shop ✨ 😍💜🥺
South korean animation isn't popular than Japanese animation (anime)
Everybody in this comment section knows. You don't need to write the same, pointless comment again and again.
My favorite german song is "du hust" this german song looks like the Rock n Roll
Hope you don't mind me asking, but where did you find those sixties shorts like "I Am Water?" I tried looking around, and only place I can find the full thing was on a Korean TH-cam channel, but it has a watermark on it.
takes a little searching but they turn up eventually :)
some the very old ones i found in a korean film archive e영상역사관 its really useful if you can read korean

no problem, enjoy the videos :)
Bernard is korean?! Wow I watched so many of these on turkish television as a kid
Edit: Element Hunters too?! I could swear that's a Japanese anime
Bernard isn't korean. I think this is wrong
Bernard/Backkom/Berni a korean coproduction with many countries. Element Hunters is a japanese/korean coproduction. This is a companion video to the actual history video which explains it :)
Oh, I remember when I watch Bernard in childhood.
I'm from Russia!
Where can I watch these and why aren’t they as popular in the west as Japanese anime?
If you google the name of the animation, it will probably come up though most are a little obscure and haven't been subtitled into English. For the second part of that question, I made a video about it :)
