The fact that anyone was closing in on lyles of all people is crazy to me, the 200m and 400m are on fire this year 🔥
It is craaaaaazyyyy
Yea, I’ve never seen that before
These guys are exciting to watch!! Tebogo is a beast at 20. But don’t forget Knighton is only 19. What a Rivalry in the making!
BOLT was amazing at 20. This is Shameful. This Generation has nothing to be proud of. Using maths to get results is stupid and shamefl. This generation will end ithe world in the lowest note possible.
I don't know about you but Tebogo reminds me of the young Bolt both in his running style and physique. His closing speed is getting insane. We are yet to see the prime Tebogo
He does a bit. He just looks like this skinny kid. Almost doesn't belong, but has absolute world-class speed. Great competitor and looking forward to watching him in the future.
Actually, i didn't want this kid to let the comparisons go to his head- but I think he actually has a bit more of a Michael Johnson style of running- upright head and body is pretty still. Knighton is more of a Bolt style. I think they should be coached respectively by those persons- then we see the real GOAT.
I am Jamaican, but because of African diversity, I always believe the fastest man will be found there. Africans just need to be free to be themselves.
Knighton still ran faster at the same age…
@@megasg75090 Jamaicans and Americans will be faster on average because centuries of slave breeding in the genetics
If you ask me, Tebogo actually has a better shot at breaking 19.19. I am also very convinced that if he doesn't beat Lyles this year he'll do it next year.
idk about this year but next year i’m telling u guys tebogo is going to challenge lyles just like knighton did he has a chance to medal this year in the 2 and 1
I agree. In fact, I've posted comments under numerous track & field videos, that I think Letsile Tebogo will prove to be the next Usain Bolt. I saw that potential in him from day one of him running that 100m race, in which he set the World Junior record. He made it look easy. And watch how Lyles went flying in that last 100m, of the 200m race. Yet, Tebogo was closing in on him.
Yes ,I agree
What's amazing is that Tebogo doesn't appear to be running very fast. His body mechanics maintains a very upright posture, so there is no wasted energy from swinging side to side.
@@TheTmat007 Why can't he be the next Tebogo ya'll always want to make carbon copies of people just say he's the next great sprinter who can rival Bolt in status
Tebago became Noah Lyles, biggest threat. But i think Noah lyles, have the ability, to neutralise any threat, that pose to him in the 200m.
Whenever Tebogo masters his openning 100 curve , the last 100 is Tebogo's to lose.
Tobago will win worlds
@@billricheter5678 he's not beating lyles especially when Lyles cleans up that last 30m
@@forevergoated999 I don’t know. That close was crazy. Lyles did lean too early though. I have never seen lyles get run down.
@@billricheter5678 Trinidad and Tobago?
tebogo's form is as if someone reversed a video of someone running, but still moved forward
Tebogo and Knighton are both exciting young talents. I hope they push Lyles to improve upon his own PR this year as well and reach yet another insane level.
i think personally noah knighton an tebogo possess the abilty to break 19.19 is just who can reach there
Tebogo being able to run so fast with very little effort in his sprint mechanic screams, WR potential
Runs like a dam ostrich. Pretty insane and fluid mechanics
He can’t beat erriyon knighton
@@darkenergy361Bruh what? Erriyon Knighton only ran 0.01 seconds faster than Tebogo.
@@acemxe8472 watch and see what happens to him at worlds just watch what Knighton dose to him in Budapest
@@darkenergy361 Nah son. Be logical. Tebogo is faster than knighton. 9.93 and a 19.50. He’s peaking at the right time. He will get 2nd at budapest and may challenge Noah for the win if he uses his 100m speed on the curve
But how does Tebogo do it while looking so smooth and relaxed. Once he starts picking up weights we are going to see something special from him.
The point of running fast is to stay relaxed.
Sometimes, too much bulk works against you as a Sprinter. Weight training must be well tailored...
He needs Kopje sprints, not weights
You're crazy to think he isnt picking up weights currently
he need both Kopje sprints an slight weights training for lean muscle like van neikerk size that will help it wont slow down bulking will slow him down though lean muscle wont
Tebogo can break 300meter's world record with that closing speed
He has a shot in Joining Wayde in breaking Sub 10s, Sub 20s, Sub 31s, and Sub 44
And on that point, I have this odd theory that he could be the next double 200m & 400m champion if he trained for it ! His speed endurance + that top end speed ? I'm so excited to see his potential over the next few years !
Easily
@@LiamFitness_11he can easily break sub 31 if he’ll stop taunting 15 meters out
Maybe. The only 3 runners to go under 31 seconds all have bests quite a bit better than Tebogo though in the other events so I don't think he's ready for WR yet. You have a 19.19 200m runner, a 19.32/43.18 runner, & a 43.03 runner. Tebogo with a 19.50/44.75 combo is slower than Michael Johnson's 200m & 400m, so he shouldn't be faster than MJ at 300m, that wouldn't add up. I think he can go low 31.
Tebogo top end speed is wicked. He may not beat Lyles this year but he’s definitely coming for him in the Olympics. I’m very interested to see too what he can run in the 400m. His form and speed endurance is flawless which can easily convert to a sub-44.
I think he can run 43.5 for sure ! His potential is crazyyyy
Didn't see this coming either
Well done Tebogo 🔥 and keep going Noah💪
We finally saw Tebogo run all out 😂 its about time
Has joined the elite
His form is so effortless. Wow. Almost like a cartoon character in the most respectful way.
It's really good , that noah Lyles have a rival , who is ready to , step up and take the victory if he blinks. Tebogo is Noah lyles, biggest nightmare. But noah lyles is the boss, of the 200m , he can neutralise the threat tebogo poses. But tebogo can help Noah, and is self go after king Usain bolt, 200m world record.
Yohan Blake's 9.12 was outa this world. Imagine if he had not been slow out of the blocks during that race...
He would have slowed down in the last 100m
@@zolaeight7574 Not necessarily. If he ran slowly out of the blocks then yes, as using up more energy early on would equate to slower running later on. It's not that he ran slowly at the start though, he reacted slow, it doesn't take more energy to react in 0.15 than it does to react in 0.25. His reaction time was a full 0.10 slower than a usual elite sprinter reaction time, so if he had an average start & ran the same pace for each 100m that would have been a 19.16.
Him nor anyone has ever ran 9.12 or 19.12 if it was a typo. So there's that
@michaelbowie3823 Yep...typo...it was 19.12 not counting reaction time. It still is the fastest ever. If he had a normal reaction time, he would own the 200m world record. Then again, maybe not because I suspect it was the adrenaline rush of realizing he was slow out of the blocks that powered him. If his reaction time was normal, he might not have had that adrenaline rush.
Like really. Wonder if these people in the comments really know how fast Usain Bolt is that man train in the Hot sun of Jamaica you face that an still stand you mighty
Ive said it for some time, Tebogo is the most exciting athlete of the last 2 yrs . Soon he might really, really challenge Lyles for a win. And he might even be a great 400m runner as well. Such a smooth sprinter. Fantastic to watch. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
YES, You understand !
@danielclarke-whitehall625 Thanks for the compliment ! Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
The 200m is Noah lyles baby. Yes it's true , tebogo tebogo poses a serious threat to him in the 200m.but noah lyles will never hand it on a plate. He will have to earn it, if he is good enough. I think tebogo is the real deal. World championships will be on fire.
Great point in this video about Tebogo's running style. He has perhaps the most beautiful, elegant and efficient runnng style I've seen in years. It does indeed look like he barely touches the ground.
Noah lyles all the way. But am not gonna lie , if tebogo keep up is game a little more, noah lyles in trouble , to hold onto is dominance over the 200m. I think erriyon knighton and tebogo, will push Noah lyles hard at world championships.
I think tebogo is the,new young real deal. I Think from now on Noah lyles, of to be at is best , running against the young sensation tebogo ,in the 200m. But i think noah have, the edge to beat him right now. But we don't know, how long he will have, the edge for, if tebogo keep running like that.
You forgot to mention the NCAA champion in the 200m - Udodi.😊 He definitely can medal.
No shot at medaling might not even make the final truthfully
Not a snowball chance in hell , lol
Tebago was so smooth we love u and u will get better 😊😊
Hey have you ever thought about making a prediction video for an entire meet? I would love to see you give your top 3 for every every event at the world finals. I know it might be a long video but I would love to hear your insight and compare your opinion to my own. PLUS, I just can't get enough of these videos!
Don’t think he follows field events
@danielhobson2124 that’s two events, never seen him talk about men’s hammer throw or women’s jav for example
Didn’t Knighton and Fahnbulleh both run under 9.3 second half during Knightons 19.49?
Yes, fahnbulleh 9.21 knighton 9.26. Joe also split 9.27 in the ncaa final last year and 9.29 in 2021.
YES, and where they at now? this why I oppose slapping the crown on someone just because they had a good race. I have to see consistency.
@danielhobson2124 You grew up in a generation of participation awards. I did NOT say a damn thing about me not liking them, Im talking about the ready to "crown" someone or GOATing them because they had a good race.
@danielhobson2124 My guy stfu, you came commenting to me. My comment wasn't directed to TRP look at the comments. I left my view, end of story.
I know TRP cover track from a more data/analytical point of view so save it.
Tebogo has how many medals?
At just 20 years old have to keep an eye on this young man . His future looks great !
Thanks so much for all the exciting background info!
Tampoco me esperaba este tiempo de Tebogo. Lo cierto es que siempre que lo veo correr, lo veo como muy tranquilo, pero avanza muy rápido!
I think the narrator is the best I’ve ever heard, about track&field.
You didn't see it coming but I did. Watch his junior races and you can see he may be a replica of Usain Bolt/Yohan Blake. Tebogo is the sprinter of the future. Dude has huge potential of being the next Usain Bolt/Yohan Blake. Another 1-2 years of proper training and development, without any serious injuries and he will be unbeatable...
These guys were cooking...just really shows how ridiculous 19:19 is!!!!
Tebogo is great, but he doesn't run like either Bolt or Blake. Different running styles by all 3.
It will be exciting to continue watching this new class of sprinters edge one another or try.
Don’t slow down at the finish line once you know you’re the clear winner.
There’s plenty of room for new records before the inevitable peak.
Great athletes and good job presenting.
Fine work on the video. Tebogo's form is ridiculously clean.
The first time he didn't slow down before the line
I'm very curious to know the splits of Bolt and Blake in 2012 Olympic finals as both of them clocked 19.32 and 19.44 respectively
Bolt was supreme on the bend. When he ran 19.19, he ran 9.92 on the bend!
@@yawos9024plus there is a difference that 19.19 was into a headwind aswel and after doing the 100 rounds and 100 final plus rounds of 200 and final again
@@DG-iu8ckand i think there were 4 rounds back then in the champs? Not 100% sure though
Super impressed with tebogo the future is bright for the 100/200m not sure this generation will be ready to beat bolts records but I'm sure over the next 10yrs they will give it a good shot, I see another 19.30 from lyles winning again you never no maybe he does something special I just always feel his base 100m is going to hinder him slightly he defo had a high 19 2s in him I reckon
Noah will have that 19.50 by Tebogo in the back of his mind going into the WC and this will be the first time he'll be going into the 200m with potentially 3 rounds of the 100m in his legs, so we need to see if that stops him running sub 19.4 in the Final! That was a fantastic first 140m by Zharnel (should give him every bit of confidence for the WC 100m event) & incredible closing last 50m by Tebogo. All 3 200m podium guys in Budapest running sub 19.7 is a distinct possibility as well as all 8 guys running sub 20s! I'm sure Knighton & Kenny took note of that London DL 200m race!
I think Lyles will treat this 19.50 like he did Erriyons 19.49. And I think all you guys jumping on Tebogo's bandwagon will propel Lyles to a 3rd world title.
@@nateoliver2372 Difference is the 19.49 was run in April 10-12wks from the WC by a kid who just turned 18 so Noah had more time to train & solely focus on the 200m to come up with a response. This time round, this 19.50 was run 4wks out from the WC from someone 2yrs older & more developed, and unlike Knighton has run sub 10/45s in the 100/400m. Noah has relatively less time to 'respond' and has to split his focus this time round between the 100m & 200m unlike last year when he could solely focus on the 200m. It's going to be interesting to watch what happens cos it also means Knighton & Kenny can't go into the WC assuming they've only got Noah to worry about!
@@AllInTheGame01 Lyles apparently had covid a week before this 19.47. Also at this time last year he hadn't ever run a sub-19.5, he was in 19.6x form a month before WC. Assuming he's properly peaking for the WC this tells me he's in better form this year & the 19.47 is a more "normal" time for him now & we haven't seen his "something special" yet.
@@richardgallimore5976 USAs/WC were also much earlier last year than this year so it's not quite a 1:1 comparison plus we've never seen Noah run a WC 200m Final with potentially 3 100m rounds & 2 200m rounds already in his legs. He's clearly the favourite, just saying that him running 19.31 like last year or quicker isn't as nailed on as some ppl think, could still win running 19.35 - 19.40.
@@AllInTheGame01 Yeah it will be interesting to see how he handles all the rounds. True, maybe Lyles was in 19.4ish~19.5ish shape a month before worlds we just didn't see it in an actual race.
I’m sure Tebogo’s performance has lit a fire in both Lyles and Knighton. Let the games begin!
Love me some smiling Lyles.😁. Very charismatic, well spoken athlete. Love watching him race, and his interviews are great too.
Tebogo is just levitating! So efficient.
Imagine running 19.5 and you don’t win… 😳
I can only imagine running 19.5 and hopefully not dying.
London DL 200m is the only race that made 3 winners in one race.
First of all, Zharnel Hughes is in absolute peak this season while being 29 years old. The man just ran 9.83 in the 100, broke the long standing British record. Then he ran a 19.73 and completely shattered the 200m British record. Now he is officially the fastest sprinter ever produced in GB holding the both records.
Then we have Tebogo who dropped a mind blogging time 19.50. 🤯 The African record is gone just like this and he cut down his pb by a LARGE margin. That’s the greatness we’re witnessing from a 20 yo.
Finally, Noah also dropped an atomic bomb 200 with 19.47. Even I’m surprised he would run this fast in the diamond league and offcially becoming the sub-20 king in the 200m by overtaking bolt’s precious record.
All 3 definitely amazing, but definitely not the only 200m where all 3 achieved something amazing. Jamaica 1-2-3 in the 2012 Olympics comes to mind. Likely a few other 200s as well.
lol I feel like the world has just discovered Letsile Tebogo after what he just did. But his performance makes perfect sense given what he did last year. This man holds the junior 100m record and even had the possibility of going under 9.90. He raised his 400m PB from 46s09 to 44s75.
His running style is reminiscent of Usain Bolt.
I think that in the future, he has a better chance of beating the WR than Knighton now....
@citadeloflotus Have to disagree, running style more like Frankie Fredericks including height and weight...
@@Ronin-tp4vx in fact I especially wanted to refer to young Usain Bolt but your answer is good too
Your analysis is off the chart, as always
This year's 200m WC race should be amazing. Can't wait!
Letsile could be fast if he never trained his body to slow down once he's in first place.
I pray every runner remains healthy and in top condition, and if they do, the next Olympics is going to be INSANE!!!!! 🤯
Tebogo and Knighton are the future of this event, their clashes are going to be insane when they peak 😮
I think Knighton won´t progress anymore, he´s the kind of super precocious talent who peak very young but after that not much more, like Steven Lewis .
@@pepelopezcrecimientopersonal You could be right, but in hope not 🤞🏼
You could see he was gonna be special after watching him at the World Junior Championships in Nairobi, a few-years-ago.
Thanks for confirming that Yohan Blake is the fastest man on the planet
I don't know about you but I think Tebogo is more likely to break Bolt record than Lyles though the record remains legendary
Lyles will never break Bolt's record because he cannot run sub-10 on the bend.
@@yawos9024Lyles doesn't need to break 10 on the bend to break bolts WR. He needs a 10.0 bend and a sub 9.2 straight to get it done.
Yes Tebogo is more likely to break Bolt’s record .
@@nateoliver2372 Exactly this. Nobody has 9.58 speed so nobody is suppose to run as fast as Bolt's opening 100 if they're going for the best time they can manage. If Lyles can get down to 9.7x straight 100m, he can open in 10.02 for example & close in 9.16 for a 19.18.
@@nateoliver2372 He cannot! You can hallucinate all you want, he cannot, and he ever does that, he will be able to run that fast on the straightaway. You guys are deluded. Noah Lyles does not have the foot speed of Usain Bolt. If he did, he would be running 100 meters at 9.7. Let me give a clue. He just ran 150 meters without the bend. His time was way far behind Bolt's. Just check that out!
Great video. Best part was rolling through those 5k names.
i watched this live it was so cool
Saw it coming. He was a beast in junior world champs - very high ceiling
These athletes are all formidable. Congratulations to the winner, Noah Lyles.
when i saw Tebogo win 100 meter races in the under 20 competitions , running as if he was just playing, I suspected he will soon become a threat for many champions world stage..
Tebogo needs that calibre of competition to really bring out his fire, he definitely has the potential to push Lyles and maybe even himself under that WR as for Knighton well u can never rule him out when he's on form, gonna be fun to watch no matter what 🎉
That top end is no joke
Tebogo poses a threat to the world record in the 200m especially...he's just floating effortlessly on the track...we ar about to see greatness in the next 2 months
this video was released on my birthday
These athletes are all formidable. Congratulations to the winner, Noah Lyles.. We finally saw Tebogo run all out its about time.
The race was epic. I wil forever b a big fun of Tebogo, My African Sibling and others from my Continent..
Tebogo proved that he really is that guy. I don't think there can be any doubters after this race. With him and Knighton the 200m is going to be exciting in the coming years.
I'm feeling it now
Wow I did not see this coming 😮
Tebogo runs so smooth like its effortless when its not.If he keeps improving he may or may not break Bolt's record but he surely has the ability to be a multiple double champion in all the big events, but then lyles is a specialist in the 200m so its gonna be tough for him.
This youngster is going after Bolt's record 😊👍🏼
All I can say is track and field is in very good hands. Can’t wait for the World Champs
"Almost any record across the athletic spectrum could be in danger" You should point out the huge exception - Track & Field's marquee event - competition
In the 1996 Olympics, the two fastest 200m times in history were run by Michael Johnson followed by Frankie Fredericks. These times were the respective American and African records. Lyles and Tebogo are the men who took these latter record down. We're watching history in the making!🔥
Lyles tried to dip to early in this race. He needs to work on this cause it might end bad doing this in the finals.
This was Lyles first 200m in 4 weeks. So that 19.47 was a rust buster. His competitors should be scared
@@nateoliver2372 Of course they should. But I think he wasn‘t prepared mentally to the situation of having somebody close on him.
@@Lotschi Why are we assuming he wasn't? Lyles has always studied his competitors.
Hey, I love your videos. Where to do you get such good footage of all the races?
Tobogo showed great maturity in this race, putting his nose down and pushing hard to the finish. Also, Hughes ran a brilliant curve but faltered slightly down the straight but still ran a national record. Can you imagine what the world final will be like? This is the golden age of the men's 200. It has supplanted the 100 as the premier men's sprint event.
My take away is the men’s 200m is gonna be fun to watch if the big players are healthy and well tapered!
Love to see the woman's 100/200 WR's broken and Flo Jo's juiced records being expunged , the women's 400/800 aren't going anywhere nor is Bolts 100m WR but the 200m could be threatened, can't wait
*TOP analys!*
tebogo reminds me of bolt with a very fluid long gate.. will be fun to watch..
If only the men's 100m was this exciting lol. 😂
No wonder zharnell looked like he was going backwards. He closed in around 9.5 which isn't bad. These guys just finish very strong
This 200m makes me think that Tebogo has a very solid chance of taking even the gold this year in the 100m. Seeing him close on Lyles like that puts him in extremely rare territory when it comes to top speed, and he’s so poised and relaxed, which is exactly what a 100m runner needs to be.
It's more-so speed endurance than top end speed to close on someone in a 200m. Michael Johnson never broke 10 seconds, so he had the top speed of a 10.0x sprinter, or maybe a 9.9x sprinter, but he managed 19.32, so if he were injected into this race with his 19.32 time he would be closing on both despite having a slower top speed than both.
Hughes, a prime Kerley, Omanyala all have higher top speed than Tebogo for now imo. The 100 is pretty open though he has a shot I agree.
Tebago, looking amazing at d right time!
Tebogo is making our country proud (I’m half andromedian and half Botswana)
Knighton seems to have peaked at 18 and I noticed an attitude lurking under neath the surface that I identified early on when he made his first big splash
Bob Hayes 8:61 on anchor leg 4x100m Tokyo Olympics 1064.
I admire Tebogo's closing speed. Soon and very soon he will break records.
Noah might be the favorite but Tebogo might give him a run for his money. This year is going to be fun because previously it was Knight and Noah but now you can bring in Tebogo Bernard and Hughes in the mix
I wonder what the splits were for the 2012 Olympic 200m final
Purely guessing, but I would say 9.9x+9.3x & 9.9x+9.4x. Bolt doesn't finish as fast as Lyles or Michael Johnson, Bolt is just SO much better at the 100m than anyone else that he can afford a "slower" final 100m. Blake went out a bit fast for his current speed & that cost him. When Blake ran the 19.26 I believe later that year he did a 10.14+9.12 & opening in a more reasonable time for the first 100m let him get that fastest 100m close in history.
@@richardgallimore5976 That makes a lot of sense
I can't wait for this year's final
Seeing this video js makes knightons 19.4 even more impressive 😂💯
Tebogo was like.. hold up, we got more track left? Lemme speed up a little.. lol the dude reminds me of Bolt, just choosing when to accelerate but not really pushing himself. Crazy bro, he got that pep in his step fr
I remember when going sub 20 was a big deal. These dudes do it effortless.
While Tebogo is only 20, Knighton is even younger and delivered his PB (0.01s better than Tebogo) being 18! Some people say Tebogo is now the biggest threat for Lyles, but Erriyon is a threat for both of them. 3 people capable of beating Bolt's WR! :)
Yes!!!! Finally ! U eyes open now . This is the man to break all bolts record . I've said it on this platform before . Never forget , tebogo Is HIM . Not Noah lyles
Unimaginable how fast bolt was
What does this say about bolts first half of the 200M! He was always flying coming out the curb! It was a thing of beautiful! Honestly till this day he was the most electrifying Athlete of all time! His races were specticals ! On a FIFA world cup level! The world would stop for 10-20seconds all eyes on him! Him winning never got old
Noah running the 200m, with 3 rounds of the 100m on his legs, is in trouble in Budapest… but I think Tebogo is doubling too.
Noah finish is crazy.. he looks like he's increasing in speed through line..
We saw these fast times out of no where with Blessing Okagbare
And we see how that turned out
I was the 1000th like on the dot!
This kid is a WR waiting to happen
Tebogo is scary smooth
This gives you a perspective of how fast Usain Bolt is.
